Chapter 13
Sage's P.O.V
"I'm bored." Moon complained.
"Well isn't that just a big surprise?" PJ said sarcastically.
"'D'uck you." Moon shot a glare at Fresh. "Stop censoring me!"
Fresh smirked, ignoring Moon's request. Moon growled, crossing his arms.
I looked around the truck at everyone. Raven was being his usual enthusiastic self and having the most random conversations with Blueprint, who just sat and listened. Gradient was having a more quiet conversation with Bluescreen. Bluescreen never said a single word, I was beginning to think he was a mute.
Everyone else seemed to be doing their usual pastime. Faith and Fury were cuddling silently, Desire and Sprinkle had fallen asleep on each other and Westy was looking through some notes or something. Mum's favourite sure acts a lot like him. Damn smart asses. I hate them.
"I'm bored." Moon repeated.
"Nobody cares." PJ said, only half paying attention.
"Hey," I whispered. "I'm going to go cause some chaos."
Moon smiled. "Excellent."
I took a vile of red powder out of my jacket, along with a very, very small vile containing a green liquid. I poured the red powder onto the floor, then a drop of the green liquid. The two substances reacted and begun moulding into something. A long fluffy tail, thin whiskers, four little paws, it made a meow sound.
I picked up the red powdery yet fluffy cat and stood up from my seat. I walked casually over to where Raven and Blueprint were sitting. Moon got on his knees and watched from his seat, a wide smile on his face.
"Hey Raven, look at what I found." I said.
Raven looked up. The cat meowed and Raven yelped, backing as far away as he could.
"Get that thing away from me!" Raven yelled.
"What's wrong with cats?" Blueprint asked.
"Dad said they eat ravens! They're evil! Evil I say!"
"What? This little, innocent, fluffy, carefree creature?" I pet the cat and a purr escaped it's throat.
"Don't be fooled by it's cute sounds, Sage! It'll scratch you in the back!"
"Lets test that theory."
I said something under my breath and the cat perked up, looking at Raven. It then leaped and Raven screamed, jumping over his seat to the next row. The cat then started chasing him and Raven ran faster then I've ever seen him run. Up and down the truck the cat chased Raven until he tripped and fell. Sprinkle and Desire woke up with a jolt when they heard the loud scream and thud. The cat jumped onto his back at sat down, licking it's paw.
Moon was laughing his head off. "Aw man, that's hilarious!"
"Ow, ow, ow!" Raven cried out. "Not my back, not my back!"
Blueprint stood and went to pick up the cat, but the cat hissed and it's claws dug into Raven's back. Blueprint pulled out his knife on the cat. The cat hissed again, but jumped off Raven's back and ran back to me.
"Are you OK, Raven?" Blueprint asked.
"No. I hurt. I hurt a lot." Raven said.
Blueprint helped Raven up and took him to a row of seats that was far away from me and my cat. I took an empty vile and said something under my breath. The cat returned to a powder form and the powder returned to the vile.
"Now, who shall be my next victim?" I asked myself, scanning around the truck again.
Hmm, Faith and Fury seem to be very close, I thought. I smirked and snuck into the row of seats behind them. I heard Moon snicker in the background, I had to keep myself from giggling. Faith and Fury weren't cuddling anymore, but they were sitting very close together. They were having a quiet chat and the situation couldn't have been more perfect. Without warning, I roughly pushed their heads together, closing that gap between them. Their eye sockets widened with surprise and they tried to push away from each other, but I wouldn't let them.
I looked at Moon. "So, how has your day been?"
"Oh, it's been great so far." Moon answered, smirking widely. "How about you?"
"Pretty much the usual. Getting snatched up by people and taken back to my parents, you know how it is."
"Indeed."
Faith and Fury struggled, but just couldn't get past my undying strength. Who says you need muscles to be strong?
"How do you think our parents will react when we get home?" I asked.
"I know mine will chuck me down a hole and bury me alive. Or maybe Dad will throw me back over the wall to the zombies. Perhaps my bones will become toothpicks for that crocodile fella."
"Nah, you're goopy bones wouldn't taste good at all. Mine, however, shall be perfect for the occasion."
"Mmph!" Fury tried to yell.
"OK, I think that's enough, Sage." Sprinkle said.
"No, I don't think these two love birds have had enough of each other's taste." I replied.
"As much as I'd love to see my brother suffocate on someone's lips, I think you really need to stop being a huge dick."
I huffed. "Fine then."
I let Faith and Fury go and they both pulled away, gasping for air and a bright blush colouring their cheekbones.
"How come you didn't censor Sprinkle?" Moon yelled at Fresh, who pretended he didn't hear anything.
Fury glared at me, but I had already turned around and walked away. Who's next? Hmm...
I set my attention on Gradient and Bluescreen. Ah yes, the 'no physical contact' couple. Perfect.
I walked right up to them, a vile in hand. As soon a Gradient say me, he stood up and blocked my path to Bluescreen.
"What's wrong? Not up for a friendly little chat?" I asked.
"Let me put this in a way that an idiot like you will be able to understand," Gradient hissed. "We do not want any part in your stupid games. I know exactly what you're thinking and I don't think you quite understand how traumatising physical contact is for Bluescreen. So leave us alone."
"You think I'm an idiot, eh?" I opened the vile in my hand.
Gradient punched me hard in the face, knocking me to the ground. I spat out a broken tooth and I tasted blood.
"Do you think this is a joke?" Gradient yelled. "Do you think all this is just some game for you to make all the choices in? Well guess what, this is reality! Children have been taken from their families and slaughtered. That could've been you, Sage! You could've been the one shot in the back of the head!"
I said nothing.
"Wake up, Sage. The world doesn't revolve around you. At least act like you have a soul."
There was a long silence. Eventually, I stood up and closed the vile, then went back to my seat.
"You let Gradient of all people beat you up?" Moon scoffed.
I huffed, holding my hand over the area where Gradient's fist met my face. A broken tooth really hurts. But that wasn't what bothered me at the moment.
I'm not soulless, am I?
