Romance in a cave

Horror's P.O.V

Sunset in the mountains. Another day of driving. So far, we've fought a zombie bear, zombie owls and a giant zombie chicken. Well, Killer and I thought it was a giant zombie chicken, everyone else keeps saying it was a vulture. Nah, defiantly a chicken. Asy was a surprise, I wasn't expecting to see someone alive and uninfected out here. But I suppose anything is possible. Right now, I'm just relaxing. My arm around Lust, him leaning against me with a smile across his face.

"You're quite snuggly, aren't you?" I said.

Lust hummed in response, nuzzling my chest gently. Gosh, he's cute.

"So...you two in a relationship or what?" Cross asked, peeking above his seat.

"Friends can cuddle, can't they?" I replied. "Also, when are you gonna make a move on Dream?"

Cross immediately went back down on his seat. I chuckled. I heard the trapdoor in the roof open and Dream and Asy come through. Buddy instantly leaped over the seat he was laying on and tackled Dream to the ground, licking his face.

Dream laughed. "Heheh, calm down Buddy!"

"Go on, Cross." I said. "At least say hi to him. You haven't talked to him in a while."

Cross took a deep breathe and nodded, standing up and walking over to him. Asy had already run off, probably to go annoy random people again. Cross reached out his hand to help Dream up, Dream happily obliged.

"H-Hey Dream." Cross managed to say, smiling.

Dream smiled back. "Hi Cross."

"So, uh...I just...wanted to say sorry for being so awkward the last few times we talked."

"You don't need to apologise for that, Cross.

"I know, but I-"

"Alrighty guys, we're stopping here for the night!" FC interrupted, walked up from the front of the bus. "Oh, was I interrupting something?"

"Not at all." Dream replied.

"Yeah, not at all..." Cross mumbled.

What a pushover.

"Fantastic. Everyone grab a sleeping bag from the back." FC ordered.

"Wait, we're not sleeping in the bus?" Ink asked.

"I don't know if you can tell, but the bus smells like rotting bird corpses."

She had a point there, the place stank.

"Besides." FC continued. "I've stopped at a cave in the side of the mountain. We have shelter from any zombie birds. We can leave the bus door open to help get rid of the smell."

"Someone will have to be lookout." I said.

"Thanks for volunteering, Horror."

I hit my head on the seat and groaned in annoyance. Lust giggled.

"Just yell really loud if you see any giant zombie chickens." Killer advised.

"The joke's not funny anymore!" Everyone yelled.

Killer shrank down in his seat as everyone yelled at him in unison.

"There is an upside though." FC claimed. "Lust, you feel like cooking dinner for us tonight?"

Lust smiled and nodded happily. That brightened everyone's spirits. A meal by Lust would be fantastic. So far all we've been eating are food bars. FC says their full of nutrition, which is true, but they have little to no flavour. And we had all that good food stashed in a small esky. So everyone walked out the bus and into the cave beside it. Lust and I carried the esky of food with us. When everyone was in the cave, we started a fire and sat down around it. Lust got to work on cooking.

"Hey FC, could I talk to you in private?" Sci asked.

"Of course, buddy." FC replied.

Buddy looked up at FC, tilting his head in confusion. Dream chuckled and pet Buddy.

"She wasn't talking to you, Buddy." He said.

Buddy barked happily and rubbed his head against Dream. Cross went ahead and sat down with Dream. Look at him. He's usually cool, confident and quiet, never really wanted to talk to anybody. But around Dream, he's the complete opposite. He's always nervous, actually tries to start a conversation and is a freaking dumba*s. It's so clear that he likes Dream. Like, like like. Like, love like.

"Fell hasn't been looking so good lately." Reaper commented.

"Really? I haven't noticed." Geno replied sarcastically.

I looked over at Fell. He was sitting away from everyone, against the cold cave wall. He had a blanket wrapped around him, I believe Sci was the one who did that. He seemed half asleep. And, somehow, more pale. FC ended the conversation with a nod. Sci walked back to Fell and sat next to him, a worried expression on his face. Why was he worried? Sure, we're in a cave where zombies could attack us at any moment, but it felt like something else was wrong.

"Something wrong, Horror?" Lust asked.

I smiled and shook my head. "Nah, just thinking about things."

About ten minutes later, the food was done. It wasn't anything big. Lust put some pieces of chicken on some sticks, put a few spices on them along with some kind of sauce, and cooked them at the fire. They tasted great though. A nice change from those flavourless nutrition bars. Fell, however, wasn't in the mood for food. He took the plate, but didn't eat anything.

"You need to eat, Fell." Sci said, holding up one of the chicken kababs.

Fell shook his head slowly. "I feel like I'll throw up if I eat anything..."

Was he sick? He wouldn't be infected, would he? Fell let out a sickened groan, hunching over and holding his non-existent stomach.

"How do skeletons throw up if they don't have a stomach?" Asy asked.

FC hummed an 'I don't know'. Sci put his hand on Fell's shoulder to comfort him. I wonder if he's ok...

Right after everyone was finished with dinner, we decided to get some sleep. Except me, I had to keep watch for zombies. Me and my big mouth. I had a shotgun close to me, but I always had my trusty axe to cut em down. It was quiet dark now that the sun had gone down. The blueish moonlight was the only thing lighting up the entrance of the cave, along with the dying embers of the fire. Everyone's breathing was soft, almost silent. The only noise I could really hear was the sound of crickets.

Unless your a bug or a bird in this world, you can forget about escaping the zombies. They're a little faster then you'd first think. They surround you and eat you, you'd be lucky to escape without a scratch. Most are left bitten and infected. Not many humans and monsters left, that's why zombies have begun to die out. Their running out of the food they need and the creatures they need to infect. Geez, you've probably been told this ten times already. Why am I repeating it?

"Lost in thought again, Horror?"

I turned around and saw Lust, sitting up with a blanket wrapped around him.

"Lust? Why are you awake?" I asked.

"I couldn't sleep." He replied, scooting up next to me.

I put my arm around Lust, pulling him closer. Lust smiled, leaning his head on my shoulder.

"Mm...Its a nice night tonight." He commented.

I nodded. "Yeah. I don't think I've ever seen the moon like this before."

"It's almost romantic, don't you think?"

I smirked. "Are you suggesting something, Lusty?"

"I dunno, am I?"

Lust wrapped his arms around my neck, pulling me a little closer. I did the same around his waist. Our faces were just a few centimetres from each other. I felt weird, but a good weird. We were both blushing, but we seemed confident in our actions.

"Horror, you warm my soul on this cold night." Lust flirted.

My smirk grew wider, I decided to get him back. "Heaven's a long way from here, my angel. Or, am I the one lost in your eye lights?"

Lust's blush grew more evident. He smiled confidently though. "Your lips look a little lonely there. Why don't they meet mine?"

Quite a suggestion. Who could say no at this point? Slowly, I closed the gap between us until our lips met. Or was it teeth, since we're skeletons and we don't have lips? I don't care either way. The kiss was nice, passionate, not too rough. It was perfect. So, so perfect. Words couldn't describe this feeling. We could've stayed like this forever.

"We got some savage teeth clanking action right here people!"

Oh boy, here we go. Lust and I pulled away from the kiss and looked at our interrupter. FC was sitting in her sleeping back, smiling proudly.

"Oh, pay no attention to us." Chip squawked.

Lust groaned in embarrassment, during his face in my chest.

"Do you mind?" I asked, slightly annoyed.

FC looked at us for a moment. "Nope!"

"FC, why!" Lust said.

"Because I need some skele-love action!"

Someone who had been woken up by our conversation threw their pillow at FC. FC was knocked to the ground with an oof.

"Ok, I deserved that." She said.

"Damn right you did." I agreed.

"Shh, don't tell them that."

"Go the f**k to sleep!"

Whoops, we woke Nightmare up.
