SKSJJSJSNS AND BOIIII I GOT AN IPHONE 6S AAAAAAAA

---Nightmare's POV----

No sooner than I had yelled a warning, a shot rang out. Silence lapsed over us for a moment as I looked down at the zombified man.

He now lay still, blood pooling around his head from a bullet wound.

I looked over at Dust, seeing the small wisp of smoke leave his gun. He had shot him.

"YOU BASTARD!" The woman screamed, launching at Dust bare handed.

Dust barely reacted, simply raising his gun and shooting her in the head.

She let out a gasp of surprise before collapsing at his feet, twitching occasionally as the life slowly ebbed out of her.

Dust glared at the rest of the group. "Anyone else want to step forwards and get shot?"

No one answered.

The whole group was in shock, staring at the dead bodies of their two friends that had both been alive only a minute ago. They all stumbled back as Dust stepped forwards, eyeing up the people.

He grabbed onto another woman, growling as he twisted her wrist over to reveal an infected bite mark.

No one even had time to react before he pulled a pistol from his pocket and shot her in the head as well.

"Infected."

The fact that they had all sworn they weren't bitten, but three of them had been revealed as newly infected wasn't good. As far as we can assume, all the rest of them could be infected as well.

"If you're infected speak up now!" Dust yelled, glaring at the remaining five humans.

One of them, an older man, stumbled forwards. He had an obvious bite mark oh his hand and his eyes were going glassy.

"P-Please..." He whispered, dropping to his knees. "End this...I-I don't want to turn into o-one of them..."

Without another word, Dust shot him. Ending the poor mans misery.

"Anyone else?"

None of the four remaining said anything, their expressions filled with absolute terror.

Horror growled, stopping next to me. "They've been living for the infected for too long...we still don't know if this virus can be spread by other ways that isn't just biting. We can't risk keeping them alive."

It sounded cruel, but Horror had a point.

I sighed, looking over at Dust. "Kill them all."

The reaction was immediate. What was left of the group scattered, screaming and yelling at us to stop.

But one by one they were shot down, collapsing to the floor as their legs stopped running.

Each shot was to the head, so it was a painless death. Shooting anywhere else means that they can come back as zombies. And that's something we don't want.

We were about to turn back and walk into the mansion when Killer called out.

"Hey! There's one left!"

I turned, looking over to where Killer was pointing.

Stood there amongst all the dead bodies was a skeleton.

He was quite small, his body looking so starved that it was concerning. His clothes were hanging off him in tatters, the once black and white fabric ripped and covered in blood and dirt. He had tears streaming down his face and his eyes were wide with terror. One of his pupils was red while the other was white, and he had a little zig-zag scar under his right eye. The other noticeable thing about him was the golden heart locket resting on his chest from a string around his neck.

Dust reloaded his pistol before pointing it at the skeleton.

Immediately they collapsed to their knees, sobbing. "N-No! P-P-Please don't! I-I'm n-not infected I swear! PLEASE!"

I winced, watching as he tried to crawl back, begging desperately for us not to kill him as Dust stepped forwards, his expression cold.

"N-NO! I-I'LL DO ANYTHING Y-YOU WANT! ANYTHING!" He screamed, fresh tears streaming down his face as he shook, his whole body shaking.

"You're infected." Dust said simply, re-aiming the pistol.

"IM NOT!" They cried desperately, barely able to talk now as they let out choked sobs. He continued to beg for mercy saying over and over that he wasn't infected.

"Dust stop." I said sharply, making him freeze just before shooting.

"What?"

I didn't answer, slowly stepping towards the skeleton.

He shied away from me, simply crying harder, continuously begging for me not to hurt him.

"P-P-Please..." He managed to force out, staring up at me with wide, pained eyes. "I-I don't w-w-want to die..."

I sighed, looking back at the others. "Lower your weapons."

Dust growled, shaking his head. "Are you crazy?! He's infected!"

I looked back down at the trembling skeleton and he shook his head rapidly, seeming desperate now.

"We don't know that...Dust."

"Just let me shoot it!" He fired a shot at the ground next to us, making the skeleton yelp and whimper before clinging to my leg, gulping back more sobs.

"Dust put your gun down!" I ordered, staring dead at him.

Dust looked at me in disbelief before lowering his gun, making the others quickly do the same.

I looked back at the skeleton, sighing. Honestly I have no idea why I'm protecting him, but seeing how desperate and vulnerable he is tugged at a part of my soul that wasn't completely consumed by darkness.

"It's okay..." I whispered, leaning down to him.

He whimpered, probably thinking I was going to hurt him. "P-Please n-no..."

I sighed, reaching out to hold onto one of his hands gently. "I'm not going to hurt you...I promise..

He slowly calmed down, gripping onto my hand as tightly as he could, which was worryingly weak actually.

I then scooped him up into my arms, making him momentarily panic before he went limp, clinging to me weakly with shaking hands.

"Th-Thank you..." He whispered shakily, looking up at me with wide eyes. His expression only showed pure relief. I looked away from it quickly, my eye sweeping over the dead bodies littering the ground around us instead.

The others looked at me in utter disbelief as I walked past them and back to the mansion, ordering them to lock the gate back up before they came back.

I walked into our main living room and set him down on the sofa quickly. "Are you cold?" I asked, my voice coming out harsher than I'd meant it too. It was as a probing question, one that made him flinch.

He nodded, his whole body shaking. Whether it was from fear or the cold I don't know. Maybe it was both.

I sighed grabbed one of the thin blankets draped across the back of a sofa and wrapped it around him. It wasn't the best, but it would do for now.

The skeleton curled up, tugging the blanket around his shoulders with a suddering sigh.. "Th-Thank you..." He murmured before stiffening at the sound of Horror, Killer, Error and Dust arguing as they walked in.

I grunted and stepped away from him before turning to face my teammates, a brow raised.

They didn't look happy.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Dust hissed, slamming his guns back down on a table along with the others.

"Nothing." I responded, glaring him down.

Dust broke eye contact and looked away, growling as a hand reached up to scratch at the back of his neck, the phalanges raking dark lines into already existing scars. "You've brought an infected into our home."

"He says he's not infected." I said, glancing down at the skeleton as he flinched, a shaking hand reaching up to clutch the dirty golden locket hung around his neck.

"But can we trust him?" Error asked, walking next to me and looking down at the skeleton with a narrowed gaze, his fingers twitching in an agitated fashion.

"Of course we can't." Horror snorted, a hand pushing into his eye socket and scratching. "He's probably lying like the others did."

I stared at him as well, sensing the skeleton start to shake again. It felt like fear, but also a hint of anger.

"Just leave him alone." A voice said, dull.

We all looked over to see Killer leaning against a wall. "Let Nightmare do what he wants with it. If he gets infected then that's his loss. We'll just shoot them both."

I let a slight smile form on my face, looking at him. "Seems reasonable."

Dust glared at me again, fingers digging in deeper to his neck. "You're risking your life for some scrawny skeleton you've only just met?"

I rolled my eye. "Stop being so dramatic. Let me check him over, see if he's telling the truth. If he isn't infected then celebration, he stays with us."

"And if he's infected?"

I shrugged, casting a look back at the skeleton curled up on the couch. He had fallen asleep. "If he's infected, we kill him..."
