There are many great places to live in order to survive. The question is can you stay there long? A bunker would be good for a short period of time, and by that I mean until food runs out. So where do you go after the bunker? That is, if you can get out of it without being killed.

In the event of a zombie apocalypse you would want some place high up. An apartment complex can be good, but there would be the issue of zombies inside the building along with other survivors. But if you clear it of zombies and survive, then you should be golden. People are a different story. It depends on whether they have weapons or not and how many people they have. If they have loads of people and loads of weapons, then I would say leave them alone and find a different complex. You should be able to find plenty of food and water and not have to worry about intruders because of the many rooms. Zombies wouldn't easily get in since they can't really open doors and use stairs (walking dead zombies. World war z zombies would be the ones where you would have to board up all the stair doors.

In an alien apocalypse you would want to be in a place where you can't be seen easily. A prison would be a good choice with its thick walls and windowless structure and can also be soundproof, which will prevent them from finding you or your group with their advanced technology.

In a robot apocalypse, you would want to stay well hidden. I would say stay underground  and start a farm underground. This one's a bit tricky since they're basically invincible.
