Thug group: raiding a small group of survivors.

Soldier group: wondering the abandoned city.

Lone wolves: wondering on there own.

Settler group: keeping your base at an old factory.

Wandering group: heading off to the city to find supplies.

Scavenger group: heading off a town to get supplies and some food.
