Don't get me wrong I do and I hope I'm talking to someone. I hope you get this letter otherwise I'd be talking to no one and it'd be a waste of paper and ink.

I'm writing since Aro has decided to round up all the vampires in the world, many don't want to come not believing in the zombie apocalypse. I'm coming for you, all of you.

I miss the children. Hearing their laughter and being apart of their lives. I miss you. I miss talking to you. Spending time with you and being apart of your life. I understand you need space, because of what Paul did to you.

If you are ready, I'd like to take you out on a date. A proper date. Or as best of a date I can take you out on as I can with the impending doom of us all.

Lowering the paper feeling tears run down my face, how ironic I'm reading a letter from Demetri while wearing his shirt. I didn't even realize I still had Demetri's shirt until weeks after I moved. I should have called him, when there was still communication. But it's too late. I bet Aro had Chelsea use her gift on him. Or he could be dead, Felix told me how on his way here they were dropping bombs in the streets and bombs can kill vampires.

"Mom?" Looking over to Jack as he's behind me "What's going on? Will we be leaving soon or"

The zombie apocalypse started over two months ago, Felix was visiting me with his new hybrid daughter Katerina aka Kitty as she likes to be called. I gave her what I gave Nessie to help her age like a normal child. She's a few months old but looks to be about four years old. Guess Alice didn't have a vision about that, humans dropping bombs all over the major cities.

"I gotta talk to Felix, Jack" Wiping away my tears as I need to talk to Felix about it "just keep an eye on your siblings, especially Kitty. They're in the backyard playing right?"

He leaves as I leave my room to find Felix who looking out the window to the backyard, his arms are crossed and I stand beside him "What are the chances Aro made Chelsea use her gift on Demetri? Tell me the truth. Please"

"Very likely" Felix shakes his head placing them on the counter "If Demetri hasn't come by now, it means any emotion he ever had for you is gone. Chelsea is good with her power and while she knows you, Heidi is one of her closest friends and Demetri is most likely back with her"

Covering my mouth letting out a choked sob, Felix pulls me into his arms. I left because I didn't think I was ready to move on, five years after Logan died Demetri and I kissed for the first time and I forgot all about Logan. We were about to make love until I saw a photo of me and Logan on our wedding day on the mantle and I thought I was betraying him.

Then I realized it was the mate bond, Demetri is my soulmate and by the time I realized it was too late. Or I thought it was. Then I get that letter a couple months ago and Felix promised me he could come for me. I just needed to make my tenor to him psychically available. Now?

"I don't know what to do" looking to the window seeing the kids on the trampoline, I have a cloaking spell on the backyard to hide the kids as they play "Felix—I"

"I'm here" he promises me "I'm here"

"Lori! Cassie! Carl!" We hear a loud noise from outside and we both run out, Jack keeps the kids in the backyard with Renesmee when we give them looks to stay put.

I recognize that voice "Rick?" Going into his house seeing he's awake and in a hospital gown "Oh my god"

Rick is this human who was kind to me when I moved into the neighborhood with the kids five years ago. Both him and his wife Lori. He's a kind and compassionate person who will do anything for his family. He has short dark brown hair with light tan skin and blue eyes, well he now has facial hair and has lost some weight since he's been in a coma for a long time.

"Phoenix?" His face is frantic, looking around before coming over grabbing my shoulders "What's going on? Where's Lori? Carl? Cassie ? I woke up and there was nothing but destruction and"

"You're alive?" Placing my hand on his face, checking for a fever but I don't feel any. His wound on his side must be from his surgery when he was shot.

"Of course I'm alive" he looks around "what's going on?"

Shaking my head "Rick, it's the apocalypse" he is taken aback by that "let's talk at my house, get a change of clothes. Trust me when I say it's best if you come with Felix and I" he looks to Felix and sees his red eyes then he looks to me nodding his head.

When Rick has changed and follows us, we are met by this father son duo. The both of them have dark brown skin, short black hair but the father has facial hair. He has a gun pointed on us and the son is holding a shovel.

Rick raises his hands "Woah, easy"

Holding my hand using magic, the gun flies into my hand and the man's eyes widen. He pushes his son behind him "I won't hurt you, promise but I'm not risking you shooting me"

"What the fuck are you?" He demands

"Easy" Felix steps out of the shadow and his skin sparkles "child present"

We see a walker walk towards us, creating a ball of fire I toss it at the walker burning it to ash. "What the fuck?" Rick breathes out

"Look" walking towards him, the other human slowly backs away keeping his son behind him "we can continue this out in the open or we can go inside" Holding the gun back to him, the man takes it from me "I'm Phoenix a hybrid. Half witch, half vampire. Behind me, the human is Rick and the big vampire is Felix" Looking over to Felix who raises an eyebrow "What? End of the world, I think the previous regulations concerning humans not knowing went down the drain"

He rolls his eyes as the kid asks "Your a witch and he's a vampire"

"I won't drink your blood if your worried about that" Felix assured them

Motioning to my home which is across the seat "We were about to explain to Rick what the hell happened to the world, he just woke up from a coma"

"A coma?" The man looks at Rick warily as Rick looks around at us all "How?"

"Gunshot" Rick says, he rapidly blinks his eyes "you just killed a man by fire Phoenix"

Looking at the kid asks he said "that thing ain't alive anymore mister"

"Come on" walking towards the house, Felix next to me. We look to the three of them and they look at each other before coming inside "your kid can play with the other kids in the backyard if he wants, I have a spell where the dead won't hear them making too much noise or notice them"

"Can I dad?" The kid asks

The man holds his child close "How is it witches and vampires are...exist?"

"Witches have always existed—apologies" I just realized "I don't know your names, either of your names and it would be easier than calling you muggle one and muggle two"

The kid laughs "Muggle? Like Harry Potter?"

"Similar" looking at his father "I promise you both are safe here, I won't hurt you and neither will Felix. Now? What's your names?"

"Morgan" the man greets "this is my son Duane"

"Mom?" Violet ran into the room, she looks at the two new people "hello, who are they? Mr. Grimes? You're alive?"

"Hello Violet" Rick greets her

She looks at Duane "Hi, I'm Violet. Do you want to play dodge ball?"

He looks at his dad who briefly nods his head, Duane goes to the backyard and the two humans watch beside me and Felix as the kids play dodge ball in the backyard. "How do witches and vampires exist?" Rick asks "have you always been like this?"

"I was once human" Felix looks to them as I jump up onto the counter crossing one leg over the other "but that was over two thousand years ago"

"I was born this way" shrugging my shoulders "mother was half witch, half vampire. Dad was a human"

"How are you half vampire then?" Rick is confused "wouldn't you be like a quarter?"

"Complicated answer which would hurt your brains" waving my hand "it hurts my brain just thinking about, witches created vampires with magic and science over a ten thousand years ago. Don't know when they were created specifically but they were"

"Witches" Felix explains "are natural like you humans, nature's servants. Nature wished for them to exist so they existed"

"Do aliens exist?" Morgan asks

Shaking my head sharing a look with Felix who shrugs his shoulders "Not that we know, I mean if they did it would be cool and we'd be aliens to them"

"So you can cast spells?" Rick asks "like you have a cauldron and"

"Yes Rick" nodding my head "and before you ask no, I didn't use any magic on you from before the world ended. Which we should probably get into. The world ended about two months back"

"How?" He looks around and I get him a bottle of water, for them both.

"Just water" Felix assured them

They take them from me "I don't understand"

"You know that virus?" Morgan asks him "the one that was affected the major cities in the upper east coast? Well it began affecting everyone around us and one day...shit happened"

"The cities are horrible" Felix says "wouldn't recommend going, they began bombing the major cities"

"Who?" Rick asks "Where's my family? Lori? Cassie? Carl? Phoenix you killed a man"

"She killed a walker" Morgan repeats, guess Rick still needs to wrap his head around that. I mean he did wake up from a coma who knows how long ago?

"They left with Shane" Shane's Rick's best friend, also a cop. He has short black hair from what I remember with dark brown eyes and light tan skin. He's a good fuck but nothing else. This was when I thought I lost my chance with Demetri "and Rick the thing I killed? It's an undead person, not like Felix but this? This is different. Something that affects everyone. Humans. Supernaturals. It's why many live in Volterra, Italy. I doubt there are any left in the US besides Felix and I"

"If you do see a vampire" Felix warns "don't think they'd be as well restrained or as friendly as I am, they'd rip into you"

"Why aren't you?" Morgan asks

"I'm able to turn the dead's blood into something edible" I pull out a blood bag tossing it to Felix "and we drink blood bags"

"What those people? Those things as you call them?" Rick demands

"They'd have ripped into you" Morgan shakes his head "tried to eat you, taken some flesh at least. I guess if this is the first time you're hearing it, I know how it must sound. It's how I'm feeling knowing about these two"

"Do mermaids exist?" Felix and I make noises "so yes?"

"Mermaids are the worst" I scoff "stuck up bitches. Ooh, look I'm a mermaid and I'm naturally beautiful and can sing and I'm a super model"

"They're cannibalistic skanks" Felix scowls "they aren't Ariel from the little mermaid"

"Before you ask" warning them both "angels and demons? Have no clue. Just like heaven and hell? Don't know"

As it gets dark "You and Duane can stay here tonight, Morgan" Felix offers "walkers become more active during the dark and it's getting dark out"

"I'm about to make dinner so..."

"We were about to leave anyway" Rick looks my way as he and Morgan get all of the ammo inside of the storage locker in the police station, Felix is back with the kids keeping them safe "if you want to stay by our side"

"No" Morgan shakes his head "look, thank you for the meal and not killing me or my boy but"

"You don't trust me enough" offering a small smile "I get it, there aren't a lot of people you can trust now a days" holding out a crystal "think of this as a shield like want I did to keep walkers from hearing or seeing the kids play. Only works at night so you and your boy can get a full night's rest without worrying if a walker will spot you and before you ask. It's powered by the sun, think of it like something that needs to be charged. It rests during the day and uses the power it absorbed from the sun at night"

He nods his head taking the crystal "thank you"

Looking to Rick "Well?"

"We need to find Lori, Cassie and Carl" he says "I...I have to know what happened them to them"

"They most likely went to the city" I say "but I can't track something with some random object. I need a map"

"Would they be in the refugee center?" He asks

Shaking my head no "No, if they were then they'd be dead"

Leaving the station, I see Felix drive the RV that use to be a bus over. Rick and I go into the RV and in here while Duane and Morgan drive one way, I use the necklace with the rabbit foot on it that Cassie use to wear that she gave to Rick. Her good luck charm.

Closing my eyes as I track them, I see images five year old Cassie holding a picture Rick. I then see her stand up and as people leave, she leaves and follows them.

Letting go gasping "What?" Rick asks

"She's headed to the city" looking at Rick shocked "I don't know why but she's following a group of adults into Atlanta" looking at Felix "Felix, you need to drive to Atlanta. Now!"

"But they're alive?" Rick asks

Nodding my head, placing my hand on his "We need to get Cassie. If we don't she'll die"

Rick nods his head and Felix drives to the city, the kids are on the couch watching the Little Mermaid on the screen. Rick is at the dining table looking from then to me and Felix, I'm in the passenger seat "How do you two know one another?"

"Another life" Felix says

"Felix was apart of a rival vampire coven to the one my husband was in" I say "we became friends when he worked at Grey Sloan Memorial"

"You're a doctor?" Rick asks

Felix laughs "Don't sound too surprised, immortality becomes boring if you don't find hobbies. I happened to enjoy being a surgeon. How's your side? Hurting?"

Shaking his head "Let me know, I'll check it out"

"Thank you" Rick says
