The wolf shifter Paul slammed me up against the wall, as I was leaving the school he cornered me. Or tried to.

"Stay away" he snarls "from my imprint, leech"

A laugh escapes me, shoving him off of me and shoving my hand into his gut. His eyes widen as my hand moves inside him up to where his heart is, pounding rapidly especially as my fingers wrap around his heart.

"Your imprint" mocking who Phoenix is to him "may have been the old Phoenix, but this Phoenix? The Phoenix that she is now? She's not someone who would ever take shit from anyone, especially not someone who has anger issues like you mongrel" Paul spits in my face, shaking my head as I squeeze his heart a bit "How easy it would be for me to rip out your heart, but I won't. Why? I want you to be alive and keep messing things up with Phoenix, every little thing you do brings her and I closer" his rage is visible, he's shaking even though I'm holding his heart "and when her grandfather turns her...she'll be mine forever"

He roars in fury, tossing him out towards the forest. He shifts into a large grey wolf ready to attack. When he tries to attack, I punch him in the face so hard that some teeth come out. Moving under him then getting up, I wrap my arms around him and his wolf snaps his jaws trying to reach me but I squeeze him hard.

Sensing the other wolves, I crush half of his body causing this loud whine to escape him. The other two wolves arrive just as the wolf shifts back into his human form, going into the shadows hiding Sam and Jared run over to him.

"Why" Sam demands "did you come here? I made it clear that you and Logan McCarthy stay away from one another"

"My imprint" Paul is sweating very badly, his bones are being reset the wrong way "Phoenix is...mine"

"We need to get him to a doctor" Jared and Sam pick him up, carefully carrying him away while I leave going to the Swan house.

Once I'm here, I find Phoenix with Jack in the rocking chair reading him a story. What is sad is the fact that since Jack was born, Phoenix's dad was too immersed in his job to pay that much attention. His medical practice was beginning to pick up and the boy's mother left after he was born, Phoenix became not only his sister but his only mother figure.

Jack looks my way as I come out of the shadows, he babbles "Logan" holding his arms out to me.

"Hey buddy" picking him up, Phoenix smiles looking my way "learn any new words?"

"If your wondering" Phoenix stood up and came to my side "he didn't learn any curse words"

Looking away "I wasn't wondering that" She gives me a look, a rumble of laughter escapes me "Alright, would it be so wrong to assume that since your always saying that if we had kids their first word would be fuck?"

"I would be a bad mom" she jokes "if my kid didn't say fuck as their first word" I am not even sure how to argue with her logic sometimes. She takes my hand that has blood on it, she furrows her brows "did you and Paul get into a fight?"

"Tried to intimidate me" grabbing wipe to clean my hand "tell me to stay away from you, so I may or may not have shoved my hand into his gut then moved my hand to his heart" She shook her head, the smile on my face falls "What?"

"Why would you sink to his level of violence?" She asks

I don't understand "What?"

She shook her head walking away crossing her arms, why is she upset with me? Or is she unknowingly directing her anger to me "You could have used your powers to toss him aside, not edge him on. Now Paul will think that you're the kind to get jealous and can do anything to win me back. I wanted him to mess up, not you"

"Are you breaking up with me?" I ask

"No!" She exclaims coming over, her eyes are wide "No...what I'm trying to say is this, you shouldn't have sunk to Paul's level. You're better than him. He's a temperamental child who doesn't know what he wants, he says it's me but it isn't. I remember him talking before about never wanting to settle and deep down that Paul still exists. He has severe commitment issues" placing her hand on my face "I don't want him to think you can be bothered by him"

"But I am" setting Jack down so I don't hurt him "I am bothered by him, you're mine Phoenix. Not his" putting Jack in his play pen, I grab Phoenix's hand and the baby monitor leaving the room to her room.

"It's over! Get out!" Phoenix and I hear Bella scream, looking over to the window seeing Edward come in and he looks at Phoenix and I disgusted since we're both naked and trying out this new sexual position.

We were doing one called the Ballerina. Where Phoenix uses the wall for a bit of support as she does a vertical standing splits, I'm behind her and hold onto her as I thrusted in and out.

"Why is this door locked?" We hear Bella demand

"I just gotta get out of here" using my shadows to hide us, Edward unlocked the door having Bella run in and slam the door behind her hiding "I'm leaving, now"

Edward and Bella begin to pack up while I removed myself from Phoenix, Bella picks up some ripped clothes "What the" her face burns as Phoenix walked out of my shadows but I have my shadows cover her breasts and crotch from the two.

Bella looks around the room "gross"

"Sex is normal" Phoenix whispers "what's going on?"

"Bella?" Hearing Charlie knock on the door "what's going on?"

"What am I going to say to him?" Bella looks pained

"What's going on?" Phoenix grabbed Bella's arm holding it hard "tell me, now"

Bella cries in pain as Edward tells us "one of the nomads is after Bella, he's a tracker. Bella needs to leave, now" sensing the tracker, I grab Phoenix and hide the both of us in my shadows.

"I can't hurt him" Bella begs

"You have to" Edward insists "I'll be down by the truck"

"Bella" Charlie calls "talk to me" Bella leaves her room slamming the door "Did he hurt you? Break up with you or something?"

"I broke up with him" Bella says

"I thought you liked him" Charlie says

"Yeah" she leaves, Phoenix looks up at me confused. I mean her reasoning for why she's leaving is bullshit "it's why I have to leave, I don't want this. I wanna go home"

"Home?" He asks "your mom's not even in Arizona"

"I'll call mom from the road" Bella rushes downstairs, Phoenix quickly gets dressed as she leaves the room and I remain in the shadows "she'll come home"

"Bella sleep on it" Phoenix tells her "I may not like you but right now your being stupid"

"Your cousin is right" Charlie agrees "if you still feel like going I'll take you in the morning"

"No!" She snaps "I wanna drive, it'll give me more time to think. If I get really tired then I'll pull into a motel"

"Look Bella" Charlie promises her "I know I'm not that much fun to be around but I can change that, we can do more stuff together"

"Like what?" She demands "like watch baseball on the flat screen? Eat dinner at the diner every night? Steak and cobbler? Dad, that's you not me. Phoenix! Let me go!"

"You are emotional" Phoenix firmly says "and your not thinking clearly, most people don't run away from breakups"

"And most people don't date their high school teachers" my eyes widen as she said that "go ahead dad, upstairs is Mr McCarthy"

"What?" He demands

"Phoenix has been fucking the favorite teacher of the town" she continues "like your basic average whore" hearing a slap and then a thud.

"Yeah" Phoenix admits "Logan and I have been seeing one another Uncle Charlie, but it is all consensual. I've never taken any of his classes before and we're in love, there isn't that much of an age difference between us"

Grabbing some pants, I leave the shadows heading downstairs where Charlie looks my way and we are silent. "Chief Swan"

"Mr McCarthy" he greets

"I love your niece" holding Phoenix close "and I gave my letter of resignation to the school earlier this week, I'm no longer her teacher and it's not illegal but frowned upon given our age difference. Me being twenty four and her sixteen"

He looks from us to Bella who left "Bella!" He runs out of here and when he comes back in, he looks at Phoenix "pack your bags Phoenix and leave, your Elias's problem now. My brother was right, your too much of a hassle to keep around"

How could he say something like that? Phoenix runs upstairs and I follow her, here I help her and Jack pack their things before leaving. "Hey Jasmine" Phoenix talks to Jasmine over the phone "Bella's gone and I'm moving out of the Swan house and moving to the cabin I have with Jack and Logan"

"What happened?" She asks

"Guess" Phoenix scowls at Charlie who watched as we pack up.

Once at the Cullen house, Edward came up to me along with Bella "Take Bella someplace far" he orders

"No" I say

Edward grabs my arm "You have to! Bella is a member of this family and"

"She's brought nothing but trouble" using my shadows to protect Phoenix and Jack, Jack is fast asleep "Phoenix go to my room. I'll be there shortly"

"Logan" Carlisle appears looking at me pleading "your shadows can hide Bella from James, cover yourselves and Jasper and Alice"

"No" Elias appears behind me "my family will not be pulled into your mess, a mess that can easily be fixed with a simple bite"

"NO!" Edward roars "you have to help us! You have to!"

"We don't have to do anything" I say

Alice runs into the room "The tracker, he has Phoenix's and Jack's scents" using my shadows grabbing her limbs, she gasps and looks at me fearful.

"Repeat that" ordering Alice

She gulps "The tracker has their scents, when you left...Jack's scent is making him crazier than before"  She's telling the truth, Alice can't lie to me. She's too afraid to.

Letting Alice go "Fine" looking at Edward who is holding Bella close "Phoenix! Come back down here with Jack! Change of plans!"
