"Pirates are here!"

That was what Luffy heard when she was getting some fruit for Makino, her caretaker.

Naturally, people would panic, but Luffy was curious. She spotted one guy with red hair, three scars across his left eye, and a strawhat on his head.

He said that he didn’t want to cause trouble, but they needed supplies.

If Luffy had to guess, he was the captain.

Seeing he was heading to Party's Bar, she had to tell Makino.

But as it turns out, the Pirates were friendly.

At Party's Bar, a group of Pirates were having party on whatever they are celebrating for, they ate meat and drinks Sake to their stomachs content except those two who seem to be chatting, Shanks and Luffy.

"Wow Shanks! You've been on a lot of exciting adventures! When can I be a pirate?" Luffy asked.

"Well, I'd say 11 more years. The sea ain't exactly a safe place." Shanks smiled.

Luffy frowned at that, but then saw a chest that had a somewhat familiar fruit.

"What's that?" Luffy asked.

"Oh, that's a Devil's Fruit one of the secret treasures of the sea. This one happens to be a Gum Gum Fruit. Basically it allows you to be a rubber human, but you won't be able to swim for the rest of your life." Shanks said making Luffy pause at that.

"Well, I accidentally ate a Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit after jiji left me on an island. It was the Human Human Fruit, model Aphrodite." Luffy said getting Shanks' attention as she explained he fruit.

Shanks was surprised when Luffy said her fruit gave her the powers of a deity, though it seems with Devil Fruits, anything is possible.

Then the door to the bar was kicked down ending the fun.

They all looked to see one tall man with his troop of mean looking men, the tall man that Makino and Luffy recognize him is the Mountain Bandit leader, Higuma the Bear.

Everyone sits perfectly still except Shanks whom he's busy eating his meal.

"So these are the Pirates I heard so much about. They look rather weak to me" then Higuma shoved Shanks stopping him from eating when he reached the counter, Makino walk up to Higuma to avoid unnecessarily violence.

"Good afternoon, what can I get for you, gentlemen" her tone is polite clearly she doesn't want any trouble in her bar and Luffy is watching in worry for her friend/sister figure.

"We're Mountain Bandits, but we didn't come here to tear your place apart, we just want some Sake. I say ten barrel should do." said Higuma.

"I'm sorry I'm afraid we're fresh out of Sake right now" said Makino slightly shaking.

"Interesting, those Pirates seem to be drinking some and that doesn't look like water to me" Higuma sneered.

"No, that just happen to be the last that when I stocked up but there will be more of it next week though" said Makino.

But it didn't help much because the looks of things Higuma looks really mad that he and his men won't have any drinks today, and then Shanks hold out a bottle of Sake of his own to Higuma and said.

"My apologies gentlemen, it looks like me, and my friends drank the whole place drily but you can have this if you want it hasn't been open yet, go ahead." Shanks offered Higuma a bottle as kindness which only caused the Bandit Leader madder, so he struck the last bottle and broke into pieces, and the Sake spilled all over Shanks, Makino and Luffy gasped in surprise of what the Higuma has done while Shanks's crew seem…unfazed that their Captain is drenched and been insulted.

"I'm wanted for eight million Berri on my head so one bottle won't be enough to relish my thirst so don't insult me" he said while clenching his fist and as for Shanks who seem silent and half of his face is hidden underneath his hat, to normal people they might think he's angry but in fact he's actually upset that the floor is wet.

"That just great, now the floor is wet with Sake, sorry about this Makino. You got a rag to clean this up with?" Shanks bend down on his knees as he picks up bottle shards.

"Oh, don't worry about it I'll take care of it" said Makino hurrying to the red haired, then Higuma unsheathe his sword and slash the wooden counter and plates are thrown in advance and caused a long cut on the wood.

"Since you like to clean so much maybe you find this mess more fulfilling 'tsk' a place with no Sake is not worth our time then, let's go boys, see ya later, pansies" once they all left things went quiet now except Luffy is grinding her teeth in fury that no good man has just made fun at her friends and Shanks, but she even more furious that none of them did do a thing not even a good punch on the face.

"Captain, are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?" Makino asked while wiping Sake and food away from his face.

"Not a problem in the world, Makino" then he laughed wholeheartedly as if it some kind of practical joke and his Crew laughed too.

"He really got you good, Boss" said Yasopp and snigger at the same time.

"Talk about a loser" said Lucky Roo holding his round gut, they keep on laughing so loud that even the townsfolk can hear them from outside and then Luffy spoke up.

"Why didn't you fight back Shanks? You're clearly stronger than him!" She exclaimed.

Shanks understand how she feels right now she is not angry because he didn't stand up to him; she's angry because that man has insulted him and his Crew because he thinks they're weak.

"Look Luffy, I know how you feel but the guy just spilled some booze at me, so he's not worth it to go and beat him for it. Sides, I'm not hurt am I?" said Shanks try to make a little girl understand; Luffy knows that Shanks is right but still.

"I suppose..." she turns her head away from Shanks, she bit her lower lip, if she was stronger, she would make that Bandit pay.

The next day in Party's Bar, everything is completely destroyed, plates and glasses are broken, food is scattered all over the floor, the tables and the chairs are all been knocked down and many slash marks are on the wall, you all might wonder how did this happen…well it happens about five minute ago; the Mountain Bandits have returned and having a good meal and fighting like bunch of crazed animals but that not what made this kind of mess, when Higuma began to make fun of Shanks and his Crew and insulted them for being just a wimpy Pirates behind their backs which made Luffy very furious, then Luffy shut them up and ordered them to stop and then she called them cowardly bastards which is resulted into mayhem.

In the process, to the Bandits surprise, she used her sea foam abilities to take out half the Bandits before getting exhausted and a kick to her stomach made her fall to the ground.

Outside of Party's Bar, Higuma is pressing his foot on the girl's stomach hard suffocating her, but Luffy is too stubborn to give in.

"You took out a good number of us, I'll give you that. Not to mention you do have a cute face...I bet in a couple of years you'll be quite a looker...." said Higuma.

"You better apologize! No one messes with Shanks!" Luffy yelled, and Higuma pressed his leg harder and Luffy can feel a painful pressure on her lungs.

"I don't think I said anything to offend you directly"

"You made fun of my friend!" said Luffy. Higuma was even madder than before that this little girl has the nerve to talk to him back; he drawed his sword out of his sheath and said.

"Ive changed my mind. I'm not gonna sell ya. You could've kept your mouth shut, kid, no one had ever made me mad and lived to tell the horrifying and painful tale. Shame to erase that pretty face." before he can swing his blade he heard a cry of Town's Mayor behind him.

"WAIT PLEASE, let the girl go I beg you" said Woop Slap in a worried expression and next to him is Makino probably brought him here to stop him from killing Luffy.

"I don't know what she has done, and certainly I don't want you to fight over it so if you'll accept I'll give you as much money as you desired so please spare the poor girl's life, please" he also bows down to him begging him to spare her, Luffy is surprise by the Mayor's action that render her speechless and Higuma isn't effected his plea.

"While the oldest generation may know how the world better than us all, I'm sorry but this kid already made me angry as it is nothing can save her now" he brought his sword up high ready to stab right through her heart.

"You're nothing but a rotten man." she insulted him again.

"And you are a loss cause which is you regret on the next life"

"NO, DON'T" both Makino and Woop Slap yelled to stop just then a miracle happened.

"I was wondering why the bar is so empty on such a fine day" both Makino and the Mayor turn to see is…

"Captain Shanks" they said in unison, Shanks and his Crew are here to save the day.

"Pirates, so now you're showing your sad faces, have you been spending all this time scrubbing the Village" said Higuma but Shanks ignored him by saying.

"Luffy, did you take half the Bandits? Some look like they were knocked out."

"Not now Shanks."

"Listen, I don't know why you're here but you might wanna leave, you don't want anything bad happen to your little friend and I'm just the man to do it" said Higuma threatening Shanks if he tries anything to save her, before Shanks can move one of the Higuma's men is pointing a gun on his head.

"I'll blow your head off if I have to that up to you, Pirate" he spat at the last sentence and his friends are chuckling evilly but Shanks isn't afraid, in fact, he is smirking.

"Would you risk your life?" he asked.

"…Huh?"

"Now that you draw your pistol are you willing to use it?"

"What the hell are you talking about" the man looked at Shanks as if he's a nutcase.

"I'm saying that guns are made for action" before the Bandit can answer him Lucky Roo shot the Bandit's head with his own pistol killing him instantly while eating his turkey.

Makino, Woop Slap, and Lara gasped in surprise and horror to see the man is dead and awestruck that no one saw Lucky Roo moved the Bandits seethed to see their member is dead on the spot.

"You…You're a dead man!"

"These guys fight dirty!" The Bandits yelled.

"Dirty? who do you guys think we are anyway?" said Yasopp.

"What, you guys think we're a bunch of saints or something?" said Benn.

"You guys are dealing with a real group of Pirates so let me tell you something Bandits when I sprayed with alcohol or doused with food, hell if I get spit on I just laugh it off but…if you hurt a friend that where I draw a line." said Shanks.

Luffy can't believe her two ears that Shanks would risk his life for his Crew and hers, she felt tears coming but shook it off, she need to be strong for Shanks.

"HAHAHA, so we're gonna pay HAHA lousy Pirates KILL THEM ALL MEN!" yelled Higuma, the Bandits charged at the Pirates with their swords ready, but Benn charged and knocked every single Bandit using his rifle as a club with ease.

Higuma was shocked to say that his men are all wiped out with just one man; he never seen such strength to single handily beat down every last one of them and Luffy was so impressed.

"Wait, please it was a kid who started it" Higuma panicked.

"Didn't you say you had eight million Berri on your head?" Asked Shanks.

Higuma flinched and then he throw a smoke screen bomb on the ground, everyone coughed from the sudden explosion, when the smoke finally cleared they see Higuma was nowhere on sight and Luffy is gone too, and then Shanks panicked.

"Luffy! Oh no I let that guy take her! What we gonna do?!"

"Captain, calm down let's not freak out and let's find her" said Lucky Roo try to calm his Captain.

Everyone spread out to cover more ground, and Shanks is silent prays that nothing has happened to Luffy.

In the middle of the ocean, Higuma had made a clean getaway, stole a boat and had Luffy as his hostage so now he is holding his blade and move in for the kill like predator.

"Haha your friends will never find me here" said Higuma taunting her.

"Stay the hell away from me, you dumbass idiot" said Luffy.

"Heh, yes I know but you're be the one who's gonna die I told you what happen when you make me angry" he walks slowly so the boat won't flip readily to kill the girl, but Luffy jumped out of the boat once Higuma is close on her. He growled as she summoned a seashell boat to get away. He tries to row over only for the boat to jerk wildly as the current rages unexpectedly stopping Higuma from advancing, and then the Lord of the Coast emerged from the waters flipping the boat along with Higuma in it.

Shanks was on sight when he saw Luffy on the giant seashell.

Higuma also burst out of the water, wheezed and try to swim back to shore, just then the eel like monster appeared again with a look of hunger in his red eyes, Higuma screamed as he could do nothing as the creature devoured the bandit with one bite!

He would've attacked Luffy too if she didn't use her charm on him, making the giant sea king tame.

As for Luffy and Shanks, they're safe as Shanks got Luffy out of the water.

"I'm in your debt, Luffy. Makino told us everything about how you stood up for us, how are you willing to fight for us, and put yourself on the line in our place," said Shanks softly but it just resulted for more tears.

"Hey, don't cry, you're a grownup now"

'Luffy…you are by far the most extraordinary girl I've ever met… and you are gonna to be one fine She-Pirate one day' Shanks thought.

The next day, the Townsfolk are watching Shanks's Crew packing their supplies that would last them an entire year, they are bidding them farewell and wishing them a safe trip. Standing on the harbor Shanks and Luffy are now exchanging their goodbyes, and they may never know when will they see each other again.

"So you're leaving" said Luffy.

"Yeah, it was a nice extended vacation but it's time to part ways I bet you'll miss me, huh?" said Shanks wearing his usual clothing.

"Yeah, but I'm going to be a Pirate all on my own." Luffy declared then Shanks let out his tongue out mocking her like a child.

"I wouldn't take you with me anyway; you'll never make it as a Pirate" Luffy pouted and then shout.

"No, I will make it as a Pirate! I'll gather the strongest Crew that is better than yours, I'll even find the greatest treasure of them all the One Piece, and I'll be the first ever QUEEN OF THE PIRATES!" once she finished, her declaration has been the number one craziest one than the last ones and perhaps the most profound one.

"Heh, you think you can outshine us?" said Shanks raising one of his eyebrow; Luffy stared at the ground refuses to look up at her role model, and then Shanks removed his hat and place it on Luffy as she was surprised by the action.

"In that case, I'll leave this hat to you; it means more to me than anything in the world, so you better take good care of it, you hear me?" said Shanks in trusting his most valuable position to Luffy, she never would've thought that Shanks would do that, and she never felt so flattered so grateful that made her cry in happiness.

After the pirates finally finish packing, they unrestricted the sails and the Red Force of Red Hair Pirates sails away, the Villagers are waving goodbyes to the Pirates and Pirates bid them farewell, as well.

Luffy watched with tears on her eyes, and holding Shanks's hat close to her heart and recall Shanks's statement.

"I want you to bring this hat back to me someday in good condition and only once you've become the Pirate Queen that our promise, Luffy."
