Aphmau's pov

Garroth's grip on me loosened and I whispered his name. He knew what I was going to do and his eyes filled with tears and he screamed for me not to. This was a hard decision but I needed to protect my people.

Garroth tried to hold onto me but I stopped holding onto him and It made me slip out of his arms faster. He was grimacing at the pain and I whispered in Garroth's ear "I'm sorry." I slipped out of his tight grip and fell into Zane's arms.

When I did I heard Garroth yell my name and he sounded like he was in pain, not from the thorns but from his heart. It was too late to reach out to him now I couldn't. I looked at Zane and he had an evil grin on his face.

Garroth's pov

I looked up from were I fell and Zane pulled something out of his pocket, it was a potion. He forced the rim of the potion bottle into Aphmau's mouth and she refused to drink it but it was too late.

She started to blink fast and breath heavy. She looked like she was having trouble breathing and then her eyes closed. "Aphmau!" I tried to crawl forward but the thorns stopped me.

She fell limp and laid in Zane's arms. She looked dead. I pounded my fist onto the cold stone ground and tears fell from my face. "No,no, no!" I looked up and I felt a spark light in my eyes.

Laurence' pov

I sighed as I waited at the front gate. "Please Garroth, protect her." Cadenza walked up to me and had a plate of food. "Here Laurence." She looked sad and I took the food. "Laurence get some sleep."

She looked worried and I shook my head "No, I wont rest until Aphmau is safe." She sighed and looked at the stars and said "You really like her huh?" She smiled and looked at me.

I laughed and nodded "Yeah, I really do." I stretched and grabbed the food. Cadenza smiled and waked off disappearing into the dark of the night. I ate the food and looked at the clouds hovering above.

I clapped my hands in prayer and said "Please Lady Irene watch over Aphmau and Garroth." I pulled my hands apart and stared off into the distant tree's.
