Aphmau's pov

I sat in the warm sand and cried. I didn't try and wipe away the tears this time and I hugged my knees into my chest and hid my face. "W-why *sniff*" I went to get up and I felt a burning pain in my ankle.

I fell back onto the sand "Ow." I rubbed my ankle and remembered when Garroth pushed me away and I fell. I remembered twisting my ankle but was too upset to feel the pain.

"Lady Aphmau?!" I heard Laurence' voice and turned around to see him. He looked pained and he held out his hand to me. This time I didn't take his hand and I looked to the sand. Suddenly I felt my body floating and I looked and saw that Laurence picked me up.

Garroth's pov

I was sitting on my bed and my mind will not forget that moment. "Why did Laurence lie to me?" I was more hurt than heartbroken. 'Why did Aphmau choose Laurence?' I clutched my chest and my shoulders started shaking.

I was trying so hard to fight back the tears and I covered my mouth. I tried breathing and I felt the tears stream down my face. I hid my face in my pillow and cried. I never want Aphmau to see me like this.

I was being an idiot to be rude like that to Aphmau. I wanted to apologize but I wasn't strong enough. "Why did I say that? I'm so stupid!" I slammed my fist against the desk next to my bed and it left a crack going down the middle.

Laurence' pov

I got no answer when I knocked on the door and looked everywhere in the village. I couldn't find Aphmau anywhere. The last place I didn't check was the docks. I walked down there and saw Aphmau rubbing her ankle.

I called out to her and ran down there. I offered my hand and she looked away. She was mad at me, and by the looks of it she had sprained her ankle. I picked her up from the ground and she looked at me shocked.

"L-Laurence!? Put me down?!" She was moving and struggling and I said "You sprained your foot and you can't walk just let me take you to your house." She stopped moving and I carried her to her house.

Zoey had taken the kids to the tree house so it was just me and Aphmau. I sat her down on the kitchen chair and I pulled another over. "Laurence I'm okay." She didn't look me in the eyes but she was blushing.
