(oc) stared at the painting, head tilted in curiosity as they tried to pinpoint who the two characters on the old canvas looked like. it seemed so... familiar. why did it seem so familiar?

the painting was in a simple setting in the medieval period, a village with stone pathways going throughout the town. there were kids running about in the back, adults talking and merchants selling their goods. the centerpiece was what had caught (oc)'s eye. two people, walking hand in hand down the path, smiles on their face while one spoke, the other laughing. it was... light. happy.

(oc) felt a sudden urge to cry as they studied the intended emotions from the painting.

"beautiful, isn't it?" (crush) spoke, standing on the opposite side of (oc), staring at the artwork.
