I think everyone forgot that Travis can supposedly speak like 7 languages.

In the episode he was introduced, he was listing why he had a chance with Aphmau: one of those reasons being "I can speak 7 different languages, 3 being the languages of love".

7 was a bit of an exaggeration. He's only fluent in 4, other than English. (French, Spanish, Japanese, and Italian). But he knows bits of many different languages.

Travis picks up languages like how Dante (attempts) to pick up chicks. {I spent so much time coming up for a simile for that pick doesn't sound like a word anymore}. He learned Spanish and French first. He learned Spanish in high school so that he and Aph could convey secret messages in Spanish. He learned French because it just sounds so nice to him (and besides, he had to learn it for school). French is his favorite language.

Then he learned Latin (he's forgotten most of it, but can still whip out a few pickup lines and insults and curse words if the situation arises). He only learned Latin because it was for school, however. 

He knows a bit of Greek because he thought Greek looked cool. He can only say the basics, but can write the lyrics to "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" in Greek.

He learned Italian because he wants to go to Italy someday, and besides, it wasn't that hard for him because he already knew all the other romantic languages.

Japanese was the easiest to learn because it was fun for him because anime.
