Happy Birthday, Garroth.

A fluffy oneshot to celebrate my lots of reads.

Laurance POV.

It was June 8th. I woke up at 5:30 a.m, a little earlier than I usually wake up. Today was a special day, and I had lots of preparation to do. I got out of bed and got dressed, throwing on a white tshirt and denim shorts {denim~}. I combed my hair, brushed my teeth, remembered that I hadn't eaten breakfast yet and therefore made brushing my teeth useless, and ate breakfast. I was trying to be quiet as to not wake up Garroth or Zane until I remembered that Garroth once slept through The Battle of Yorktown blasting at almost full volume, and that Zane wouldn't bother me if he woke up. He knew what I was doing and that it was more important than being annoyed at me. I heard Garroth snoring from inside his bedroom and smiled slightly. He wouldn't wake up for at least a few more hours, giving me time to do what I needed. I grabbed my wallet and phone and headed out to complete my first task of the day.

I walked down the still-dark street, enjoying the early morning. I always loved dawn. No one else was out. It was still barely dark enough to see the moon and what little stars you could see around here, yet it wasn't dark enough to be creepy. It was just right.

My mind wandered down other topics as I walked down to where our old neighborhood used to be. I saw the puppy hospital being constructed and chuckled slightly, shaking my head. Our mayor is crazy. Though he does have nice kneecaps.

I stopped in front of a quaint little house that had a not-so-subtle stench of cat that made my nose wrinkle. I didn't need to check to make sure this was the right house, but I did anyway. Yup. As though I couldn't tell already. I went up to the door, knocked, and waited.

~ ~ ~ TIME SKIP! Not cause I'm lazy or out of ideas, but because it's actually important to the plot ~ ~ ~

I was back at the house by 6:00 am. I had run into Gene while he was on his trash run on my way back. I remembered how Garroth and I had caught him "snooping" on our first (and last) neighborhood watch. He was so excited. He played a surprisingly good bad cop, although I knew that it was just a facade. He wouldn't hurt a fly. Then I started thinking about how in one game of never have I ever Garroth stated that if Gene hadn't been a jerk in highschool, he might have thought he was hot. Then I decided it was time to stop thinking about Gene.

I watched Game of Chairs and organized party supplies until Zane woke up at about 7:50. He and I had made a temporary truce for today because Aphmau insisted upon it. I didn't mind. It was an important day, and I didn't want to mess it up.

"How long have you been up?" Zane asked, staring at the party supplies.

"Since about 5:30." I told him.

"And did you get the thing?" he asked, giving me a meaningful look with his icy blue eye. I nodded.

"Good. He's going to be excited." I could almost sense a slight smile twitching from under his mask. Why he wore that thing, I had no idea. Seemed rather restricting to me. But, hey. Whatever floats your goat.

Zane went to the pantry and grabbed a granola bar.

"Oh, I'm making breakfast soon," I told him.

"I'm just eating this to hold me off until then," he informed me. "But you'd better get on it. Garroth's going to wake up soon."

"Will do." I started cooking a birthday breakfast fit for a prince. There were blueberry pancakes, chocolate chip muffins, eggs, sausage, and a truckload of bacon. {Laurance going the extra mile with pancakes and muffins} It was all of Garroth's favorite breakfast foods.

Garroth came downstairs after I was done making the majority of the food. His blonde curls were a mess. He was wearing pajamas with kitties on them and looked really cute. But then again, when does he not? He has pretty blonde curly hair and sparkling ocean blue eyes {I feel so cliche for saying ocean blue but it's true ocean blue is the perfect way to describe them} and a cute laugh and a dazzling smile and he's funny and he smells nice and...

"Laurance, the bacon is burning." Zane notified me. I swore under my breath and took the bacon off the burner.

"Good morning, Laur!" Garroth greeted me, chipper. Thankfully he hadn't noticed my slip up.

"Here he is, the birthday boy!" I sang, smiling.

"Happy birthday, Garroth." Zane said from the breakfast table, finishing his coffee. You'd expect him to like his coffee as black as his soul, but he actually puts in enough sugar and cream to choke a horse.

"Good morning, baby bro!" he said happily, hugging Zane. Zane sat there and let Garroth hug him.

"What's for breakfast?" Garroth asked once he released Zane.

"Pancakes, muffins, eggs, sausage, and bacon," I told him. I was proud of my creation.

"I knew I smelled bacon!" Garroth said. He gasped. "Ooh! Blueberry pancakes!"

I smiled at him. "I knew they were your favorite."

"Thanks, Laurance!" He chirped, hugging me. For all you sad souls who live in an alternate reality where we don't exist {gosh daNGIT LAURANCE THE WALL NOT AGAIN} and have never experienced a Garroth hug, let me tell you, it is incredible. He's just so nice and big and warm and actually puts effort into the hug. He smells like caramel popcorn. When he gets really excited he lifts you into the air a bit. I hugged him back, smiling. Garroth hugs are great.

I didn't realize how long we'd been standing there like that until Zane said "Laurance. Bacon."

I pulled away, my ears and cheeks getting pink. Garroth might be pink, too, but that might just be my imagination. He gave me a really really adorable little smile that almost made me giggle. His eyes were so pretty...

"LAURANCE IF YOU BURN THE BACON WHILE STARING AT MY BROTHER I SWEAR TO IRENE" Zane yelled. I turned red and saved the bacon. It was kind of burnt, but still salvageable.

Zane huffed at me when I gave him his breakfast, giving me a look. My ears burned. I think he might know about my feelings for Garroth. I always thought I was pretty subtle about the gay, but I guess not.

{~Preview again I'm sorry I had to republish~}
