I'm sorry it's still in Lachlan's P.O.V, I try to switch them every chapter but with the way I have the book planned out I need to keep it like this, haha sorry~ Enjoy <3

Warnings: A little gory.

~Lachlan's P.O.V~

Suddenly, one by one, other minecraft characters spawn on each of the pedestals until they are completely filled up. I wonder if these people got tricked too... Or if they're not real at all... Then as I'm about to express my thoughts to Vikk, an unseen announcer springs to life.

"The tournament with start in! Three! Two! One! GO and good luck!"

Without another thought, I dash from my pedestal towards the centre of the map where eight chests awaited looting. I grab what I can before turning on my heels and dashing away, luckily escaping with not one hit from another player. I spot Vikk who is hiding behind a tree and waving at me, so I adjust my course and sprint over to him.

"What did you get Lachlan?" He questions as I approach, bending over and catching my breath.
I look up and my inventory pops up in front of me, "I got an iron helmet, chain leggings, iron leggings, and a stone axe. How about you?"
"I got a gold chestplate, gold boots, three cooked fish, a piece of raw pork chop and finally a wooden sword."

I nod, handing him my iron leggings, and in return he hands my the raw pork chop and his boots. But before I can even say thank you, before I can even put the armour on, a whizzing sound splits through the air and an arrow finds its way right into my upper arm. I shriek in pain and the ten hearts appear in front of me again and the total ten goes down by one and a half. Not only that but blood soon starts gushing out of the wound, as I pull the arrow out, ripping some of my skin on the way.

We both whip around to see a girl with light brown hair and a purple and black striped shirt hiding behind a tree. She loads another arrow into her bow and let's it sail straight towards my head. Luckily I roll out of the way before it can hit me, clutching onto my arm the whole time. Vikk in turn charges at her, sword drawn, and proceeds to stab he a few times before slashing her body completely in half. But instead of blood, her body just breaks into a million different pixels which fall to ground beside her loot. He picks up the items and returns to me, carrying them in his arms.

"You alright Lachy?" Vikk worries, handing me some baked potatoes.
"I'm alright... But did you notice that when she hit me, I bled but when we killed her she just broke into pixels? That means we don't have to feel bad for killing them because they aren't actually real!"

Vikk nods in agreement and finally we get a chance to actually put on our armour. And now at least we have a bit more food and Vikk has a bow. But... My arm is still bleeding and the pain certainty isn't going away either. I dare to glance down at the damage and sigh in relief when I see the wound isn't as big or deep as I had originally thought. And so we continue onwards, our eyes peeled for any suspicious movements.

~Time skip three-harder than they probably should have been-kills later~

"How many people do you think are left Lachlan?" Vikk wheezes, wiping the dust and blood off his face.
     "Not many I hope..."

For what seems likes hours we've been exploring, looting chests and killing players who got in our way. Although with the increasing difficulty of players with better armour and weapons, the end result leaves us tired, bloody, and dirty.
Vikk is suffering due to a slash to the chest with a sword mostly, although luckily not very serious thanks to his chestplate. My arm still has a hole in it and we're both scratched up from running through the bushes. And let's not forget my poor hair, the recent nice blonde upwards curve is now matted and filthy.

As far as I'm concerned though, we're both pretty stacked. I have a full set of iron armour but am still stuck with my original stone axe. Vikk on the other hand has half of an iron set as well as a bow with many arrows and an iron axe.

"Look Vikk, there's a chest behind that tree over there... Go check it out and I'll keep guard."
     "Alright."

So as Vikk jogs over to the chest I stand my ground, scanning every tree to make sure no one is hiding behind it. Suddenly, a small rustle a little bit to my left, in the opposite direction of Vikk and I spin around, drawing my axe and stepping forward cautiously. Slowly creeping towards the bushes, I get as close as I can before lunging through it to ram into... A tree. Confused, I shake the pain away and look at the ground to see a fairly large rock.

"A rock? Was this meant to be a distraction? That little jag! Wait... That means..."

And right on cue, a scream rips through the air and without another thought I sprint towards the chest. And just in time. Vikk is backed up against the chest, doubled over and holding his head. The culprit Is standing there a smirk plastered across his face. I'm going to wipe that smirk so hard off your face, the rest of your face is gonna come off after it! I rage in my head, charging towards him. He raises his iron sword above his head, ready to kill Vikk in his shocked state. But just as he brings it down I tackle Vikk out of the way. But then my breath catches in my throat as the force of his sword breaks right through my leggings and slices a good two inches into my leg. At first I land on my feet, so I don't land on top of Vikk who just seems to realize what's going on. But then, the stinging sensation spreads through my leg and I crash to the ground, fresh blood spilling through the wound.

"Argh, you little brat!" He hisses, looming over me.

I brace for a blow, that will probably kill me, but instead I hear many tiny thumps. Cautiously I crack open an eye just in time to see a thousand little pixels fading away. My eyes widen and I turn around to see Vikk, bow in hand, smiling, a nervous smile, but smiling. Unable to speak, I just watch as he holds out a hand for me, pulling me up.

"Cmon let's get you up and off the ground." He states, letting me rest most of my weight against him.
Finally I can muster the words, "Thank you Vikk."
"Thank me? Thank you Lachlan! You saved my life." He chuckles as we slowly make our way to the loot, picking out just enough to get Vikk into full iron and for myself to get an iron sword.

Finally we find ourselves in a small clearing and we glance to the sky seeing big brown letters and numbers. 'Death match begins in 30, 29, 28...'

      "Let's win this okay Lachlan?"
"Let's." I say, eyeing the numbers as they count down, and all I can really think is that it's counting down my time left to live.

And just like that, we're back at the pedestals, except now without Vikk's support, I have to kinda hop on one foot to keep my balance, not daring to put and pressure on my throbbing leg. Quickly glancing around the other pedestals I only notice one person besides Vikk. Except she's pretty OP. She's decked out in iron armour all the way expect for her helmet, which she somehow managed to make diamond. And in her hand, a diamond sword, glinting in the sunlight.
Vikk runs over to me as I manage to hop off the pedestal without falling.

"I'll run away so she comes after you, then you get as much damage done as you can and I'll finish to job okay?"

I nod, leaning against the pedestal and drawing my sword, watching as she swiftly makes her way towards me, not paying much attention to the whereabouts of Vikk. Our swords clash with great force, and thanks to the pedestal supporting my weight, I manage to get a couple hits on her. But then I watch as her eyes flicker briefly down to my leg, the blood still dripping down the iron. No.

In the blink of an eye, she's kicked at my knees and I'm on my back, unable to move with a strong leg pressing me down by my chest. A wicked smile spreads across her face, her brown eyes flashing. But I return said smile as a twang sounds and an arrow pierces right through her stomach. Her eyes widen as she turns around to see a cackling Vikk letting another arrow sail, hitting right between her eyes. And just like that, her body breaks into pixels and the whole map goes white.

"Woah we actually won!" Vikk cheers as we appear back in front of the portal.
"And look Vikk!" I beam, jumping around and swinging my arms, "We've been completely healed!"

Vikk chuckles, strolling over to the buttons. I follow him and notice that the red stone lamp at the first button is now shining brightly. His hand hovers over the second button.

     "Ready Lachlan?"
     "Let's do this."
