"...thanks Natsu... tonight's going to be a long night...."

"A... long night? Lucy, I don't understand... why are you so nervous for this date?" I just didn't understand... why couldn't she just stay home and be with happy and I...
I started to rub my neck nervously as an idea came up. "Hey Luce, why don't you just skip the date and hang out with me instead?"

"Natsu... that's really thoughtful of you, but this is something I have to do. I've waited long enough and so has this person."

I didn't know what to say. Does she care for this person more than she does me...? Just that thought alone makes me furious. I want Lucy to see only me in her eyes. Wait... what does that even mean... is this that food love thing Happy was talking about? "Lucy, I know you are strong enough to take care of your self, but this so could 'date' makes you look like you're going to break. Also, honestly? I don't want you to go. I want you to stay by my side, and my side only. I want you to be able to only rely on me." The words left my mouth so fast I didn't even realize what I was saying. After I looked down at her I saw that she was blushing and it looked like she had something to say, but all of a sudden she bust out laughing.
Wait. Why is she laughing?

"NATSU!!! *laughs* Wait... Please tell me you don't actually *laughs* think I'm going on an actual date do you?!"

At this point I was completely dumb founded. "Ah, w-well... Gray told me you where in the gaild ranting about a date, and just now you were getting all upset over a date...."

"I'm sorry Natsu, but it's nothing like that! The date I have is actually with...... my mom. You see, every few months I like to go visit her grave and just talk to her. I love to tell her about the adventures we have had over the course of the few months. I didn't mean to give you the wrong idea. I just didn't know how to talk about it...."

"Oh... Well... if it's ok with you can I go with you to meet your mom?"

"Of course Natsu! That's actually why I was so nervous for this date tonight.... I was thinking of asking if you would like to accompany me to this one."

"Why would you be nervous Luce?"

"Well... I just wasn't sure how you would react and I guess I was just embarrassed at the thought of you actually getting to talk with my mom."

"Lucy, I would love to meet your mom!" This is so exciting!!!! I just want to tell her all about our adventures, and maybe I can even talk to her about these feelings I have for Luce....
"...so anyways... when do you plan on leaving for this trip?"

"I would like to leave tonight if possible."

"That's perfectly fine with me. I'll just have to find Happy and tell him."

*Happy comes out of the kitchen*

"Don't let me stop you! You guys go and have fun!"

"...Happy how did you get in my house?"

"While you guys were being all lovey dovey I snuck in to spy on you guys to see if my ship was sailing."

"Happy? Ship sailing...? Does this have to do with you saying something about me loving Lucy?"
...DID I JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD....
Before I could say anything Lucy kicked happy with her famous Lucy-kick and sent Happy flying. She then turned to me with a big smile on her face with her hair hiding the blush on her cheeks.

"Let's go Natsu. I would like to get there before tomorrow."

*at the guild* Gray~

As I was eating the cookies Juvia made I couldn't help but wonder how things were going for flame brain and Lucy....
As I dismissed my thoughts I noticed  Juvia standing in the corner watching me. I was getting ready to ask her to come sit with me, but then I started hearing someone... screaming?
Before I could recognise the scream a flash of blue fell from the ceiling. "Happy!!?"
I guess that answers my question... if Lucy kicked Happy something must have went wrong...

"GUYSTHENALUSHIPHASSAILED¡¡¡¡¡¡"

"...Happy slow down. We can't understand you."

"The. NaLu. Ship. Has. Sai-"

*Mira screams in the distance*

"Finally!! It's time to throw a party!!!!
Happy, come over here and tell me everything!"

As Happy made his way to Mira I noticed Juvia making her way over to me with a little blush on her face.

"Gr-gray-sama would you like to make our own ship sail?"

I knew I cared for her I just didn't know how to react... but I do need to give her an answer *leans in to whisper in ear*
"Yes, but not today. I do deeply care for you Juvia... but I would like to wait." I decided to let my heart take over and I kissed her forehead. When I pulled away she completely turned into water....

"....Gray-sama... said yes!!!"

*on the train* Lucy~

As I was rubbing Natsu's back trying to calm his motion sickness down I couldn't help but let my mind wonder...
Natsu said he loved me... I could feel a blush coming along my cheeks as I looked down at the sick man I'm in love with and smiled at the thought of him loving me back. I couldn't believe this was actually happening... I'm still upset with him though about the embarrassing pictures thing though, but then again maybe I did go over bored by slapping him.... As the train finally came to a stop Natsus face began to get some color back. "Are you ready Natsu?"

"Ya. Are you ready?"

He shot me one of his boyish smiles and I couldn't help but smile back. "Of course!"

*at the grave* Natsu~

As I stared at the grave with the familiar date on it I looked at Lucy waiting for her to say something.

"...hey mom.... I'm back just liked I promised, and I even brought back a friend. Mom this is Natsu, Natsu this is my mom."

"It's finally nice to meet you Mrs. Heartfilia. I'm honored that I got to meet Lucy. She is very beautiful and precious to me. I promise you I will take care of her."
I could feel a blush creeping up along my face and I looked over to see Lucy blushing as well.

"Thank you Natsu."

After sharing some stories through laughing and some tears with Lucy's mom we began to head back to the train station. I let Lucy leave before me and I stare at the grave for a few moments before I rest my hand on it. "Mrs. Heartfilia, I may not understand a lot of things, but I do know I am in love with your daughter. I promise with my life I will take care of her and treasure her. I promise." Before I could leave I see someone appear behind the grave. "...Lucy?" The person gives a small laugh before smiling at me.

"Thank you for taking care of my daughter. She cares deeply for you too."

Before I could say anything the figure disappears.

"Natsu!! What's taking you so long? We need to hurry or we'll miss the train!"

I see Lucy run back to me and once she she's I had my had resting on her mother's grave she gave me a small smile.

"In second thought... why don't we just walk? I need to talk to you anyways."

I wasn't sure if I should talk about what I saw to Lucy... I think I should just keep it to myself for now, but I know one thing. I was so glad she decided we could just walk, but I wonder what she wanted to talk to me about... but I know one thing. It's time I tell her my feelings. "I need to talk to you as well."

"Well let's get walking. We have a long journey ahead of us."

As we walked away I look back to see the figure standing there by the grave smiling at me while waving.

*an hour later*

We've been walking for about in hour and Lucy hasn't said a single word...
I could tell she was nervous, but I guess I should go first.... "Lucy I have something to tell you." She freezes mid step and looks at me. "I know I'm not that smart and act like an idiot, but I do really care for you." I started to get nervous and my mind was going blank and I could tell Lucy was in shock. Before she could say anything I finally let my heart speak for me.  "Lucy... I love you. I don't know if you feel the same way, but I promise to protect you." When I looked back at her I was surprised to see she was making her way over to me.
"Lucy, you ok?" I could feel the butterflies going crazy in my stomach as she moved in closer. We were so close now and I didn't know what to do... I started to panic more as she leaned in and right before our lips touched she whispered, "anything is possible."
