Sketchbook

"Shit." Scott hissed under his breath, sipping the last of his coffee while grabbing his wallet and keys off the park bench. He would be late meeting up with his friend Eve if he didn't book it across town. This was his favorite spot though, and his favorite time to be at this spot, he couldn't miss it. He knew he shouldn't have said he could make it, but that was more so because he didn't feel like having lunch with her and her new boyfriend Adam, who really was a nice guy, than not being able to make it on time.

"Hey!" He heard someone shout behind him. Scott kept walking, pulling his coat a little tighter as a gush of wind came. He was abruptly stopped when he felt someone grab his arm.

"You left this on the bench."

Scott turned around, his body tensing when he saw who it was. His dark hair was messily swept to the side thanks to the wind, and he gave Scott a genuine, dimpled smile.

"Thanks." Scott said, noticing the man was handing him his sketch book.

He gave a shy smile back, trying to remain calm, hoping and praying to whatever higher being that the man didn't open his sketchbook. Otherwise, Scott could be sure that the guy would think he was a crazy stalker and run for the hills faster than he could imagine.

"I see you here a lot," the brunette started, "mostly around lunch time."

"I, uh, yeah. Yeah, I guess I am." Scott stuttered out, finally reaching for the sketchbook. He just about grasped it when the guy he spent countless lunches staring at, let go. Scott watched in horror as the sketch book fell, and as fate would have it, opened up to a sketch of the other man Scott had finished the other day.

"Sorry, I thought you had... Is that a sketch of me?" He asked, quickly bending down to pick the book up. Scott tried to stop him, except nothing remotely coherent came out of his mouth. He could not have been more embarrassed, and the brunette moved too fast for him to react.

"No. Of course it's not." Scott stuttered, again, while trying to reach for the book. The brunette quickly turned around smiling and giggling, so Scott couldn't grab the book from him.

"You have a crush on me, don't you?" He quipped, raising an eyebrow as he turned towards Scott again.

"I don't even know you!" He remarked, crossing his arms. "You're making me late."

"You drew me without knowing who I am. Besides, this isn't even what I'm wearing today, so you've done it on more than one occasion." He argued back, crossing his arms as well, as a cocky smirk appeared on his face.

"I'm sorry, you're just weirdly beautiful." Scott instantly slapped his forehead after the words had slipped out. "I mean, you have nice bone structure..?"

"I bet you say that to all the guys you try to pick up in the park, don't you?" He joked.

"I promise I won't draw you anymore. Now, can I have my sketch book back?" Scott sighed, eyes glancing to his watch. Great. He was really late now, which meant he'd have to come up with a good excuse or he'd never hear the end of it from Eve.

"Hey now, I didn't say all that." The guy smiled up at Scott. "Just let me know next time and I'll pose for you." He winked.

"Right. I'll be sure to do that.." Scott looked at the guy expectantly.

"Mitch."

"Right, Mitch. Will do." He replied sarcastically.

"What, I don't get to know your name?"

Scott eyed him suspiciously before finally giving in and letting his arms drop.

"Scott."

"Well, it was nice to meet you Scott. I'll be eating lunch here tomorrow, as I'm sure you already know being the creep-"

"Hey!" Scott shot out, interrupting him, but Mitch didn't seem to notice, or care.

"-you are, but if you care to join me, I wouldn't be opposed." Mitch smirked as he handed Scott his sketchbook.

"Goodbye Mitch." He said as he rolled his eyes, turning to walk away.

"Oh, by the way," Mitch called out to Scott, watching him look over his shoulder. "Incase you didn't catch on, I think you're weirdly beautiful too."
