WARNING: The last chapter of this book

Nic's POV:

It's been a week since I first got here.

I get fed everyday, and that's always good.

Yet I feel.. Empty.

"My life is just a series of unfortunate events!" I mutter.

I still don't understand why there is only 2 cells in this hallway.

The door to the hallway opened and a figure walked in.

The only light was in my cell and even that wasn't bright enough to tell who it was.

As the figure walked closer I realized it was Ty.

"What do ya want?" I ask.

"I just need to go in the cell for a brief moment." He says calmly.

He opens the door and I realize I could escape.

I thought about it then I stopped, who knows what would happen if I tried to escape.

I just say there looking at him.

"I'm going to lock up your ankles so you can't escape even if the door if open." He says.

He grabs my ankles and locks them in the shackles that were on the wall.

He gets up and locks the door.

He makes it to the door when I say, "He's just an idiot."

He stops and does a double take.

"What did you say!" He says through gritted teeth.

"Not-nothing.." I scooch into the corner.

"What did you say!!" He yells. He runs over to the cell, blade in hand.

"I said you were an idiot!!" I yell back almost instantly.

"Well you won't get fed for the next two days. Your lucky I didn't use this." He says as he puts the blade away.

He walks back to the door when he says, "Jason will be getting you a cellmate today."

Then the door slams shut.

Every time that door closes I feel isolated.

I sit on the bed and continue carving into the wall.

-2 hours later-

The door opens and a figure walks in.

I hear foot steps and shuffling.

I think it's just someone coming to tell me I won't be eating, even though I know that.

But as the noise gets close I see three pairs of feet.

I quickly move towards the bars and wait.

"I have your new cell partners!" The voice says. Jason.

He unlocks the door to my cell and throws a body in.

He locks my door and opens the one next to mine.

He throws the other body in and then leaves.

I pull the mask off the body in the other cells head.

"Jerome!!" I yell.

"Ya it's me Biggums." He smiles weakly.

I gasp and quickly scoot over to the body in my cell.

I quickly untie the mask.

I start to cry uncontrollably, "Mi-Mitch!"

I sob into his chest.

I turn to face Jerome, "Why, why did he let this happen."

"He didn't want Jason to take him away. Jason had a weapon and Mitch didn't. You know what happened after that." He sighed.

I stroke Mitch's hair, "Oh Mitch, you didn't need to struggle."

I lift Mitch onto the bed and sit on the floor.

"He'll be okay Nic, I promise." Jerome smiles.

I take another looks the cuts and bruises all over Mitch body.

I stand up and straighten my back.

"We WILL get out of here. I'm sure of it!"
