If You Should Leave Me Here
If you should leave me here,
My fire won't disappear —
There's still a million things to do.
The Stars won't call me back
Or scorch the skies to black,
Though they'd be just as broken too.
You'll see my picking up all the puzzle pieces
And, yes, even shedding tears
But you won't see me pausing my World, my All,
Just for you.
For every Beginning there's Termination.
So if we've served our days,
Then let bygones be bygones
And say we'll decide on
What future paths to take.
Go on and leave me here,
My soul won't disappear —
There'd still be a million things to do.

PS: Antony Autumn finally realised this song wasn't a farewell to a past lover at all. It was a farewell to the music industry at large. Even if the record executives, the publishers and A&R managers had ignored his lyrics, his melodies and storytelling, he would still continue to write for himself until his dying days.
