"rowyn c'mon!! you are a second off from your turn!!" piper the dance troupe leader scolded not even hesitating to call her out in front of everyone

rowyn tucked pieces of her ginger hair behind her ears, crossing her arms across her chest sighing, "i'm sorry." she mumbled

"piper, c'mon give her a break—-" jaye tried to stand up for rowyn but piper wasn't trying to hear it. in a quick flash, she cut her off not leaving any room for input

"no!! we possibly will have a new preacher on that podium sunday!" she quickly pointed at it then looked back at jaye who was biting her tongue

"we don't have time for mistakes. rowyn get it together or you'll be sitting on the sideline." she threatened which caused rowyn to look down at her feet in shame

"not too much on her!" somebody called out from the pew. everyone turned around seeing scarlett stand up and walk closer to them. jaye scoffed, "scarlett what are you doing in here? shouldn't you be in bible study?" isla asked confused as to when she even got here

scarlett ignored the question, "piper, you aren't always on your marks either." scarlett insisted with some of the girls gasping and whispering amongst each other

piper chuckled, "what are you trying to say?"

scarlett shrugged, "i'm just saying that not everything is going to be the way you want it to be." she strongly emphasized the word 'you'

"c'mon let's go listen in on the rest of the meeting!!" one of the girls yelled out with everyone running out of the the enormous sanctuary bursting through the back wooden doors. piper rolled her eyes aggressively eventually following in behind the rest of the girls.

scarlett took a seat on the front pew, both girls sighing hearing the door slam meaning she closed it behind her. rowyn went over taking a seat beside her friend giving her a nudge, "you didn't have to stick up for me."

scarlett scoffed, "i know i didn't but it was clear she was taking her anger out on you, not cool."

rowyn nodded slowly, "yeah i noticed she has been.... meaner than usual today."

scarlett gave her a glare, "just say it, she was being a bitch—-" scarlett quickly realized where she was covering her mouth with her hand immediately regretting what she said, rowyn gasped.

"scarlett!" rowyn hit her arm, scarlett shut her eyes embarrassed as hell. she looked up at the ceiling, "sorry Lord, i forget to turn off my potty mouth at times." she said in all seriousness

rowyn playfully shook her head at her bestfriend. scarlett is her other half, they are two peas in a pod. the girls have been best friends since they were kids. always side by side, through the good and the bad. both girls are polar opposites which makes people question how the hell they are as close as they are

rowyn is quiet as a mouse. a very observant girl who is always in the crowd watching, feeling out the vibes. a very private person who doesn't let many know about herself. the only reason people know information about her is because of how small their town is, nosy town and church goers will always find out what they want

scarlett is a social butterfly. someone who could fit into any and every clique but chooses the smart route which is keeping her circle, very small and tight. everybody loves her. she is good at every single thing she does and is a perfectionist. one of the most popular girls in school who is a practical queen bee.

"you have got to stop cursing." rowyn advised sounding like a mother, scarlett looked at her breaking out in laughter but rowyn didn't find it funny

scarlett stopped laughing after feeling rowyn's gaze, "seriously, cursing is a sin." her bestfriend just nodded her head profusely beginning to look down at her nails that were in desperate need of a manicure

"you're starting to sound like your mom..." scarlett sighed, rowyn widened her eyes. she felt her heart start to beat fast

"but you're right i do need to stop cursing but it's a force of habit, you know?" she looked into rowyn's deep blue eyes. rowyn nodded

they grabbed grabbed each others hand squeezing tightly for comfort. rowyn stood up with scarlett giving her a confusing frown. "c'mon." rowyn tugged at her arm

scarlett raised an eyebrow, "where are we going?" she asked in a low voice

"to get a snack, enjoy the quietness before the girls come into the dining area." rowyn pulled her up. when they went to the back, they looked to see all the girls up against the door listening carefully

they quietly kept walking making their way to the back going into the kitchen. scarlett immediately ruffled through the wooden drawers scoping out all the good snacks as robyn grabbed them some water.

"gushers or a fruit roll up?" scarlett asked

rowyn sighed, "not allowed to have sugar after six, remember?" she reminded her friend who slowly turned to look at her giving her a blaken stare

"rowyn, which do you want?" she asked completely ignoring what she just said

"give me the low sodium baked chips—-"

scarlett shushed her, "that is not what i asked."

"just hand me the chips scarlett-" scarlett yelled, "rowyn!"

"gushers please." she mumbled in pure defeat. scarlett planted a goofy smile on her face grabbing two tiny packs of gushers, then shutting the cabinet.

"let's go sit, shall we?" she winked, rowyn chuckled. they both went to go sit at the very end of the long table that was out. they started chatting with each other about monday.

"i'm telling you, i think he is going to be our new pastor!!!" they heard one of the girls yell as they all came into the dining room sitting at the table where the girls where.

rowyn and scarlett paused giving each other looks only they would understand, "it was nice while it lasted." she muttered

chatter grew louder as piper and jaye began to hand out snacks to everyone. one of the girls frowned seeing bright headlights outside of the glass stained window, another girl noticed with the two of them frowning.

"hailey is grant coming to bible study late tonight?" hailey chuckled, "no, he is out of town." she answered for her brother

the girl shrugged turning her attention back to her snack. they all heard the door open but none of them really paid attention to it. "so what are you going to wear monday?" scarlett asked

"probably something...." rowyn noticed that it was dead silent, "my mom? is going to chose?" she stopped talking seeing all the girls looking over at someone they didn't recognize.

one of the girls was drinking water but immediately started drooling, another one was fluttering her eyes like she had just seen hollywood's biggest heartthrob. majority of the girls had their jaws on the floor.

"um, who are you?" piper managed to get out

the tall six foot something guy spoke up, "my name is chase, i'm just looking for my dad." he answered clearly

"is your dad wyatt?" one of the girls asked

he nodded, "yeah, yeah he is." he answered with a slight nod. they all were tongue twisted. "he is in a meeting right now! why don't you take a load off and chat with us?" jaye offered patting the empty seat beside her

he looked at all the girls who were cheekily smiling at him simultaneously. it felt like he was amongst some sort of cult but he shrugged, "okay... yeah sure..." he sat down with jaye putting her elbow up on the table leaning close to him. all the girls were locked in

rowyn eyed scarlett who was also looking at the guy in awe. "you all can't have him." she jokingly said but it went in one ear and out of the other

"scarlett—-" scarlett shushed her shooing her away, rowyn rolled her eyes. she got up squeezing past everyone who didn't even bother to at least scoot their chairs in

"excuse me. excuse me. need to get through."

rowyn accidentally hit the back of chase's head earning his attention. he touched the back of his head then turned to look at rowyn who was still walking, "watch where you're going!" he called out

rowyn wasn't paying him any attention as she threw her water bottle in the trash can then walked back over to the table, chase was still looking at her. rowyn pointed at herself, "you were talking to me?"

"clearly i was." he dryly spat, rowyn shrugged, "my bad. it was an accident." she scoffed heading back to her seat

"are you really that big of a brat?" scarlett called out, everyone snapped their necks to look at her

chase chuckled not even giving her the time of day. he smirked while getting back to his conversation with the other girls. scarlett scoffed grabbing rowyn's hand with them both storming off

"what a dick!" scarlett stormed out of the door with rowyn right behind her, "scarlett we just talked about—-"

"i'm in a bad mood." she growled
