It was three months into fifth year, and I walked besides Lily and Severus as she ranted to us yet again about how infuriating James Potter was, asking her out over and over and over again despite the fact that she'd turned him down every single time.

"You two are so lucky that you aren't in the same house as them." She moaned as we plopped down in our usual spot underneath the shade of the willow tree by the lake. The grass was littered with students as they basked in the sun, relishing the sweet freedom they received on the weekends. "Potter is such a prat."

"Who's such a prat?"

"Speak of the devil." I muttered under my breath. "Potter, Black, Remus, Peter." I greeted coldly, my tone softening however when I said Remus's and Peter's names.

"Elise, Evans, Snivellus." Sirius replied with a sneer. "You know, ladies, I'm surprised you both aren't total grease balls after hanging out with this one." He said, pointing a thumb at Severus.

"I'm surprised you can even formulate a sentence, Black. The complexity of grammar and vocabulary is not something I'd expect someone as self-centered and small minded as you to understand." I retorted. Lily snorted in amusement while Sirius flushed slightly.

"Well..." Sirius began, and he looked hopelessly at James, Remus, and Peter, at a loss for a comeback. "Erm..."

Remus groaned with laughter, holding his sides. "Oh," he said, wiping a tear from his eyes. "Oh Sirius, for once at a loss for words! I never thought I'd see the day!"

"Shut it, Moony." Sirius growled, which only made Remus laugh harder, James joining in.

"Let's go." I suggested to Lily and Severus while the boys were fighting among themselves. They nodded in agreement and we snuck away unseen.

"So I was thinking..." Severus began, trailing off as he made sure he had our attention. "It's been a while since we gave Potter and Black a taste of their own medicine. When was the last time we broke into their dorm? Beginning of fourth year?"

"Yeah." I confirmed. "And I definitely agree. It's always funny to watch them fumbling around trying to figure out who pranked them. They never suspect us. They'd never suspect that you and I, Lily, as prefects would prank them, and they don't think Severus has any brains."

"When?" Lily questioned. "When should we do it? And what are we going to do?"

"I have a few ideas." Severus said with a smirk. "Some involving a polyjuice potion, another involving a spell that would transfigure their heads into an ever-changing animal for a day."

"Oh, I like the sound of the ever-changing animal heads. Besides, the polyjuice potion takes a while to make, I think it would be more fun to do it as soon as possible." Lily said enthusiastically. I felt a wide grin stretching across my face.

"I say we do it tonight." I piped up, and we all shared a look.

"Tonight."

I slipped silently down the stairs into the Slytherin common room, careful not to disturb anyone. The room flowed an eerie green and I saw Severus sitting on the sofa. Walking over to him, I tapped his shoulder with a smile.

"O.A.H. is a go." I whispered. "They should be asleep by now, let's go."

A soft meow alerted me to Eliza's presence as she stalked along the back of the sofa, before jumping silently down to the floor and winding between my legs. I reached down and stroked her head before shooing her away.

"Right. Disillusionment charm?"

"Yup." I said, and nonverbally cast the spell, a shiver going down my spine as I turned invisible, blending in with my surroundings. It was safe to say that my charm was a stronger than Severus's as you could still see a faint outline of his body. "Here, let me cast it for you so that you're totally invisible like me."

"Okay." Severus said, somewhat grumpily. It was common knowledge that charms was not his best subject, while it was one of mine. Potions was his strong suit.

Satisfied with the charm I'd placed on him, we exited the Slytherin common room, beginning to trek to the Gryffindor dorms.

When we arrived, Lily was waiting outside, her eyes lit with excitement. It was nearly 4 in the morning, and we were lucky it was a Saturday, as we would definitely be sleeping in.

"Ooh, this is going to be so much fun! You two do need to work on walking more quietly, I could hear you from a mile away." She squealed, and I couldn't contain my giggles as she quickly casted her own disillusionment charm on herself.

"Puffapods." Lily told the Fat Lady who was grumpy, not enjoying the fact that she had been awaken from her slumber.

Clambering inside the common room, I relished the warmth. Despite the many times I'd snuck in here with Lily, the warm and overall welcoming air always took me by surprised, as I was so used to the cold air of the Slytherin common room.

"This way." Lily whispered, directing us over to the boy's dormitories. "This fourth step squeaks, skip it."

Severus and I followed the sound of the excited redhead silently up the stairs and into the boys room. Severus waved his wand and silently cast a muffilato charm, preventing the boys from hearing us. I wrinkled my nose in distaste as I surveyed the mess, clothes were strewn across the floor and furniture, and there was a stack of books in the corner with a thick layer of dust upon them. James was sprawled across his bed, Peter was snoring obnoxiously, Remus had fallen asleep reading, a book fallen over his face and a light still pointing at him, and Sirius was hanging off of the side of his bed, a thin line of drool hanging from his mouth. Not much had changed since we'd last been in their dorm.

"Disgusting." Severus said, scooting a dirty pair of pants over with his foot. "Absolute slobs."

"Agreed." I muttered, staring at Peter who was still in his robes, crumbs sprinkled across his hands and face. As much as I liked him as a friend, he really needed to stop sneaking off to the kitchens. His intentions may have been pure, but his breath always smelled of a mix of onion and treacle tart. People constantly had to point out spots of food left on his cheek or chin. It was revolting, in my opinion.

"Okay, I'll get Remus and Peter, Lily I know you're going to want to get James, and Severus, Sirius. Let's do it nonverbally." I spoke softly, not wanting to wake the them despite the silencing charm, and making my way over to the two blissfully oblivious boys.

A quick flick of my wand and a quiet incantation stolen from one of the library books, Remus was suddenly a boy with the head of a goat, Peter with the head of an elephant. Suddenly, they changed, Remus was now part dolphin, Peter half horse.

"Oh Merlin, this is hilarious!" I choked, and Lily quickly silenced me.

"Silencio. Quiet." She hissed, pointing her wand in my general direction. She had good guessing aim. I nodded, before gesturing to my mouth. She'd clearly forgotten that Severus had already made it impossible for anyone else to hear us. With a sigh, she removed the spell with a wave of her wand, and we proceeded to sneak back down the stairs.

"I can't wait until morning." Severus chuckled as we reached the Slytherin dorms, removing the disillusionment charms. I nodded in agreement.

"Neither can I."
