Chapter Nine
"You had ten minutes," Natasha started, jaw clenching as she came into view of the rest of her team. "You could've caught her right before she could run, but none of you did anything."
"I'm sorry, last I check, you were the one who didn't want her here, now you're complaining?" Tony quipped, having enough of Natasha's change of mind, and her acting off and on lately since you came.
Natasha turned to Stark, "You've read her file, she can do anything she sets her mind to."
"Exactly, that is why it is best that we let her go," Fury stepped in, having the one responsible for the order of letting what you want to happen. "A being like her, we cannot contain her, not when our situation is... complicated," he added, glaring at Cap and Stark. "She's driven by rage Natasha, she wants something, and since she only got out of prison, she wants to do things she hasn't been able to do in the past 12 years."
Natasha stayed quiet for a moment, thinking it through, and also knowing that no matter what she was going to say or do, she won't be able to do it, well for the next sixty-three days at least.
"Hey," Clint pulled Natasha from her trance as she quickly looked at him. "We'll find her," he assured.
"You think so?" She hesitated but she remained stoic. She didn't want to ask, but she needs to because deep down she knew she will find you, she just need to hear it from someone else and make her feel that what she was thinking was possible.
"I know," he answered sternly and reassuringly.
Y/N's POV
Three days, it has been three days since I had a nice meal, three whole fucking days without getting enough sleep. It is funny how faith works sometimes, but why the hell would I care, I don't even believe in faith itself — well I used to but life's tough, and not every day you can just hang on that faith.
"Hey!" Surprised I still have a voice, two guys turned to me having caught their attention, "What the hell are you doing?" I continued, glaring at the both of them before I slipped a glance at a guy on the ground who was not far from my age; and judging by his look, he needed help.
"None of your business, woman," the potato-looking guy snapped, while the other tomato-looking guy chuckled.
Shrugging with a tight smile, "You're right, it's none of my business, that's why..." I trailed off as one of them approached me, a potato-looking guy; and when he was near, I kicked his balls, he crouched, so I pulled back his head by grabbing his tussled hair. "Did your mum ever tell you, you look like a potato?" I smiled, finding it silly. He didn't say a word though, just scrapped his legs and ran away along with the other tomato-looking guy.
With a sigh, "stupid teenagers," the man on the ground muttered as he dust himself off. I watched him for a while, and when I was about to leave, he called out, "Hey!" I turned to look at him, "thanks," he smiled.
"Yeah, you got lucky, I don't do that often," I replied, waving it off as an end to the conversation but he had more to say.
"Did my cry for help look gave it away?" He questioned back. I squint my eyes on him. "No," I answered, "just wanted to hurt someone back, I guess."
"Damn, girl, who hurt you?" He asked a little light on his voice now.
Shaking my head and a small shrug, I replied, "A friend I don't consider as one."
"Oh," he was silent for a while. "What now then?"
"I don't know."
"Fuck," he cursed, "I'm Oliver by the way, Ollie for short," he hold out his hand, "rude of me to not introduce myself."
I looked him in the eye, not so sure if I could trust this man, but it wouldn't hurt to meet people right? Unless they're gonna use me, he seems harmless though.
"Y/N," we shook hands, a small smile on my lips.
"I'm gay," he blurts out after I pulled my hand.
"I know," I replied.
He released a sigh, "Good, I thought — I wouldn't have been able to — you know, make you cum if that's what you wanted in return."
My eyes widen, "what — nope, I'm not..."
"Oh, yeah, okay," he finished as a long pause settled between us.
"So, is there any way I can repay you miss?" He asked.
I grimaced, "A place to stay, maybe?"
He gasped, "You're homeless?"
"What, no, not like that," fuck. "I just, uh," I bit the inside of my cheeks, "I just moved here."
"There's an apartment next to mine, you can take it if you want. I can show it to you now." He offered.
So, I nodded, "Okay."
