Chapter Fifteen
NO ONE's POV
As Y/n walked briskly down the streets, their thoughts in turmoil, a shadow moved swiftly and silently through the alleyways, keeping pace but remaining unseen. Unbeknownst to Y/n, Natasha had followed, concerned about their sudden outburst and the danger they might be walking into alone.
...
Back at the house, James stood still, grappling with the raw emotion of the outburst. He exchanged a worried glance with Natasha, who simply nodded slipped out the door, and went looking for Y/n and got to the bottom of the situation.
...
Y/n's pace slowed as she reached an old, abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city. This place had been her refuge, a spot where she could think clearly and plan without interruptions. She pushed the rusted door open and stepped inside, the familiar smell of dust and decay filling her nostrils.
Taking a deep breath, Y/n pulled out a small, crumpled piece of paper from her pocket. It was a list of names, and targets she needed to eliminate to finally bring down the corrupt organization she had been fighting against for years. This mission was personal, and she couldn't afford any distractions or betrayals.
Suddenly, the sound of a footstep echoed through the empty warehouse. Y/n's head snapped up, their hand instinctively reaching for a concealed weapon. Natasha reveals herself from the shadows, her hands raised in a gesture of peace.
"Y/n, I just want to talk," she said calmly.
Y/n narrowed her eyes, still holding the weapon but lowering it slightly. "Why should I trust you?"
"Because despite everything, we're on the same side," Natasha replied, stepping closer. "You're not alone in this. We can help you, but you need to let us in."
Y/n hesitated, her mind racing with conflicting thoughts. Could she trust Natasha and James? Was it worth the risk?
Before she could answer, a loud crash came from outside the warehouse. Both Natasha and Y/n turned towards the sound, their senses heightened. Moments later, James burst in, out of breath and looking frantic.
"We need to go. Now," he said urgently. "They’ve found us."
Y/n’s heart raced as they realized the gravity of the situation. The organization they were targeting must have tracked them down, and now they were all in danger. With a quick nod, Y/n signaled to Natasha and James to follow. They had to escape and regroup, figure out their next move together.
As they made their way through the dark alleyways, Y/n couldn't help but feel a surge of determination. This wasn't over. She still had a chance to bring justice to those who deserved it, but she would need to rely on her allies, no matter how hard it was to trust.
For now, survival was the priority. The real fight was just beginning.
