*Provided by Wattpad Fantasy Prof. Orginal challenge was to write a work using 1000 words or less. My first attempt, it was, and I didn't follow the norm, probably why I didn't win. It was still fun though, and maybe one day I'll expand it to be my first sci-fi ever. 

The land has been ravaged by disease and famine. Creatures who were once extinct or imaginary have risen from the shadows, and humans are now the prey. Write your creative telling of either side - the monsters hunting humans or a hero who emerges victorious against their attacker.
