Imagine having having a crush on your best friend, then admitting your feelings on a very special day.

(Amber's POV)

I was sitting on the couch with my boyfriend, just chatting about life and smiling like an idiot.

"Amber are you alright?" He asked as I'd been staring at my bland wall for over thirty minutes. I turned to face him still smiling.

"I was just thinking" I told him. He squeezed my hand and started smiling.

"What about?" He questioned. I smiled wider just thinking about the day before...

*flashback*

I was lying down on my bed, dreading the day ahead. It was probably the worst day of the year for all of the single people. Valentine's Day. I slowly turned to my side and looked at my clock. 10:54am. I sighed and sat up as my phone dinged. I picked it up and unlocked it.

From Joey- Hey! I was wondering if you wanted to hang out today

I smiled widely seeing that my best friend wanted to hangout on this boorish day.

To Joey- Yeah I'd love to! I'll meet you at 'the spot' in about an hour, ok?

From Joey- Ok! I'll see you there!

I shut my phone off and started getting ready. After my shower I put decent clothes on and brushed my black hair. I put my makeup on and headed out the door. After what felt like forever I had finally made it to 'the spot' where I spotted Joey sitting under a tree. I sat down next to him and looked at the beautiful park in front of me.

"Hey" he said. I turned to him.

"Hi" I returned. I continued to look around until I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to face Joey.

"So...uh...I was thinking that we could go walk around the lake" he had suggested. You see there's this lake that we used to walk around all the time and during the winter it would always freeze over and there were several trees around it that would have ice and snow covering the limbs. It was absolutely gorgeous. I nodded my head rapidly, which caused Joey to laugh. He stood up and held out his hand for me. I grabbed it and he helped me up. We walked and talked for a little ways until I saw the beautiful lake and snow covered trees. I always lose my breath every time I see it. I lifted my phone to take a quick picture of it .

I gawked at the view, then was pulled by Joey to get a little closer. We got to the edge of the lake and looked out across the frozen water.

"It's beautiful" I whispered.

"Not as beautiful as you" I barely heard Joey say. I quickly looked over to him.

"What did you say?" I asked hoping he would say it again. He sighed.

"I said that the view is not as beautiful as you" he repeated. I just stared at him. I then looked down as I finally processed his words. He started moving which caused me to look up. He was drawing in the snow. I raised one eyebrow and kept my eyes on him wondering what he was drawing. He stood back up a few minutes later and walked over to me. He grabbed my hand which cause a few butterflies to erupt in my stomach. He stopped in front of his drawing thing.

"I want you to read it" he said. I gave him a confused look, but obliged and knelt down in front of whatever he did. I could barely make it out. It read 'will... you... be... my... Valentine?" I stood up and looked at Joey. I smiled, hugged him and with one small word I changed our relationship for the better.

"Yes"

*flashback over*

I looked back into his gorgeous blue eyes.

"Valentines day" is all I said for him to realize what I meant. I leaned my head on his shoulder and we continued talking about whatever came to our minds.
