Imagine going to a house party with your friend, then walking off to explore the house. Then meeting Caleb Grimm, then also getting locked in 'the cold room'.

You were going to a party with your friend, Charlie. She was an outgoing girl, but you. Not so much. You always kept to yourself. That's why this is the first party you have ever been to. You and Charlie walked inside the mansion known as Franklin Castle. Scariest haunted house in Ohio. There was a party being held here on this night known as Halloween. You looked around at the beautiful building. There wasn't much in the house, but there were tons of decorations due to the oh so special night. It wasn't long until Charlie was talking with a random guy with dark brown hair. You recognized him, but couldn't think of where you had seen him. You walked off to check out the other rooms. You weren't much of a risk taker, but something inside you told you to go look around. You walked up the creaky steps slowly until you had finally made it up stairs. You walked into the first room, but someone was already up here. You stood in the doorway as someone, you suspected it to be a guy, walked around the near empty room. You took a small step but, unlucky for you, it creaked underneath your weight and the guy turned around. Once he turned you recognized him as well. He almost immediately smiled. Knowing you weren't a ghost, he walked up to you.

"Hi" he said. You couldn't seem to find your voice so you just smiled.

"I'm Caleb" he said again. The name sounded familiar to you, but you put that thought aside and walked past him into the empty room. You saw a few pictures on the wall. Most of them were of a family. They seemed happy.

"I heard this place was built by a German immigrant around the mid-1800's" Caleb informed. You looked at him. He was looking at another picture. He suddenly turned to you.

"Do you want to walk to the third floor with me?" He asked. You just slowly nodded. He smiled again and grabbed your hand. You both walked out of the room and followed up the stairs to the third floor. He let go of your hand and started walking to a random room. You walked close behind him not wanting to be alone. Once you were both inside the room the door immediately slam shut. You looked towards Caleb then back to the door. You walked up to it and tried opening it. It wouldn't open, then Caleb walked up to it and tried but failed as well. You and Caleb kept pulling at it, but it wouldn't budge. You walked away from the door with your hands on your head. You muttered random sentences in Irish, since you're half Irish, and sat down on the bed. Wait there's a bed. But the other rooms are empty. You sighed as Caleb sat down next to you. He put a hand on your shoulder and squeezed it to reassure you that he's there.

"Don't worry we'll get out of here, hopefully" he said as he looked back to the door. You looked at him. Even though he was a complete stranger, you trusted him. You hugged him, without a singe drop of hesitation.

"Thank you, Caleb" you said. He wrapped his arms around you accepting the hug. Then you both heard a crash from the bottom floor. Then screaming followed. Then it stopped.
