"Jongho, please, come in." Yeosang said once more. He had been calling out to his boyfriend for several minutes now with no response. "P-Please." His voice cracked when his fear started to take over.
The door to the medical room opened and Mingi immediately ran forward to kneel next to him. "What's wrong?"
"M-M-Mingi..." Yeosang covered his mouth and shook his head. "I think s-something happened to Jongho, he won't answer me."
"Ok, take a deep breath and tell me what happened."
"He went for groceries and w-we were kind of arguing..." Yeosang turned back to his computer when he got a little ping and noticed that his drone had found the car Jongho had been driving. He made a strangled sound and let his fingers fly over the keyboard.
They both watched as the drone dipped lower to look inside.
It was empty.
"No..." Yeosang's eyes fell to the abandoned ear piece on the passenger seat.
"Shit." Mingi hurried over to the door and poked his head through. "Everyone, get in here now!" He shouted down the hall.
It was only a few seconds before the other three joined them. "What's wrong." Hongjoong stopped at Mingi's side and placed a hand on his arm.
"Jongho's missing."
"What?" Both Seonghwa and Wooyoung looked at Yeosang with wide eyes.
All the hacker could do was nod. He wouldn't tear his eyes away from the screen while he ordered his drone to start scanning the area.
He shouldn't have let Jongho go... He should have ordered him to come back... He...
He shouldn't have pushed Jongho away.
How could he be so foolish?
Yeosang could feel his chin shaking while he tried to fight the urge to break down.
But one thing did manage to distract him from his computer screens.
A groan from behind him had everyone turning to see San lifting an arm up to rub his head.
"San!" Seonghwa rushed to his side and leaned over the bed. "San, can you hear me?"
The younger groaned and covered his eyes. "Hwa?"
"Yes, I'm here. You're ok. You're safe." Seonghwa's eyes flitted over San's body to double check and make sure everything looked ok.
Next to him, Wooyoung looked like he was trying hard not to react to what he was seeing. But that didn't stop him from biting his lip and watching Seonghwa's every move.
"What..." San tried to say.
Seonghwa shushed him immediately and ran his fingers through the younger's hair. "You were in an accident. Do you remember?"
At his words, San's arm flew to his side and he sat up yelling, "Yunho!!" His head whipped back and forth, then he swayed in place.
"Easy, easy." Seonghwa urged. Mingi came to stand on San's other side and nodded.
"Yunho is ok. Take a deep breath." The thief said.
San looked at him and blinked a couple of times. "Mingi. You came for me..." He whispered, then wrapped his arms around the taller's waist.
"Of course I did." A soft smile crossed Mingi's face. "I always will. Now you need to take it easy."
"But, Yunho..." San said with a whine. He craned his head to look around Mingi and sobbed.
Yunho still had a lot of cuts and scraps, but the biggest sign he was still injured was the large wrap around his thigh.
Seonghwa bit his lip and jerked his head to the side, motioning for Mingi to move. Once he did, Seonghwa pushed San's bed over so that they were side by side. San instantly took Yunho's hand and brought it to his chest. Tears spilled from his eyes, leaving dark trails against his pale skin. "I'm so glad he's ok."
"We are glad you are both ok, and you need to take time to rest and recover." Seonghwa said, making San turn to look at him.
It was the first time the two of them had really looked at each other since the group had come together. San seemed hesitant at first, but he let out another sob and fell forward into Seonghwa's arms. "I'm so sorry." San whispered.
"Don't. You have nothing to apologize for." Seonghwa pressed his lips to the top of San's head.
Yeosang watched the exchange with mixed emotions. He was happy to see them reconnecting because he knew how much Seonghwa had wanted that.
But he was having a hard time containing himself when he knew Jongho was in trouble.
Mingi seemed to sense that too and nodded in the hacker's direction. "Let's take a car and go look."
"Look for what?" San asked, sniffing a little as he raised his head from Seonghwa's chest.
"Jongho isn't responding..."
"What?" San looked at Yeosang with wide eyes. "What happened? How long has he been gone? What was he doing?"
Mingi stepped forward and held his hands up. "Calm down, San. We don't need you getting overly excited. Just stay here with Yunho."
The younger glanced and Yeosang once more, then nodded.
"I'll stay too." Seonghwa said, which caused Wooyoung to open his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but he quickly shut it and walked over to stand beside Yeosang.
"Alright. We will go take a look but we need to be careful." Mingi looked around the room. His eyes fell to Hongjoong last, who just nodded and stepped a little closer to Yunho's bed.
Yeosang looked down at his shaking hands and shuddered. "I'm coming too, and you guys can't stop me."
"I wasn't going to." Mingi nodded.
When no one else said anything, Yeosang slipped out of his chair and followed the thief. They walked down the hall and when they rounded a corner, he noticed movement and stopped to see Wooyoung following behind them.
The younger froze when he was discovered and rubbed his foot back and forth on the ground.
"Do you want to come?" Yeosang asked.
"Can I?" Wooyoung asked in a tiny voice.
Yeosang nodded and hurried after Mingi. The three of them piled into another one of Hongjoong's car and sped away from their hiding spot.
"We need to be careful. If they are still in the area we could be easily recognizable. Mercer will have at least sketches, if not full on photos of each of us." Mingi said. "Especially you, Wooyoung."
Yeosang looked over his shoulder to see Wooyoung pale a little, but he kept his face firm and serious. "I know. I just through you could use the extra protection."
"The extra pair of eyes will help too." Yeosang tried to offer a small smile, but his hands wouldn't stop shaking. "Mingi, I have a bad feeling... He was so upset, and we haven't been on the best of terms..." His voice started to shake as he spoke.
"He's going to be ok. Jongho is strong, Sangie." Wooyoung leaned forward and placed a hand on the hacker's shoulder.
The rest of the ride was silent until they got to the parking lot. Mingi parked the car several meters away from the one Jongho had taken and they surveyed the area.
Everything seemed normal. The general public were all going to and from their cars and there was no sign of any Pack cars or members.
Yeosang's throat felt thick when he opened his mouth to speak and he decided to stay silent instead.
"I'll go look around." Mingi whispered. He pulled on a hoodie and ball cap so cover his face and slipped out of the car.
At the same time, Wooyoung climbed up from the back to sit in the driver seat just in case they needed to make a quick getaway.
"I don't see any damage." Mingi's voice came through their ear piece with a gruff whisper. "No tampering. And it's locked."
"Hang on." Yeosang logged into the system in this car's dashboard and used that to gain access to the other one, unlocking the doors for Mingi.
"Nothing out of place. I'll go look around the shops. Stay here, I'll be back soon."
Yeosang and Wooyoung watched the thief grow smaller until he eventually disappeared all together.
"I'm sure he's going to be ok." Wooyoung whispered, looking over at Yeosang.
The hacker nodded and tried real hard to not let his fears show. But he couldn't stop the tears from pricking the corners of his eyes. "Distract me. Please. Before I go mad." He said with a heavy voice.
Wooyoung shifted in his seat a little so he could lean against the car door and pull his knees up to his chest. "I'm a bad person." He said softly.
Yeosang's forehead scrunched in concern and he looked at the younger. "What are you talking about?"
"Do... Do you think Seonghwa still has feelings for San?"
"I..." Yeosang was about to tell Wooyoung that he was crazy for thinking that, but seeing how Seonghwa had reacted today, he understood why Wooyoung would think that.
"I'm a bad person..." Wooyoung said again. "I... It made me jealous, seeing that. What if..."
"Don't go there." Yeosang reached across the console to take Wooyoung's hand. "We've all been through a lot."
"I know, everyone keeps saying that. But you don't understand... I love him, Yeosang. I've loved him for years now, and I've had to just sit by and endure my punishments while he was with San. I..." Wooyoung covered his mouth and shook his head. "I don't think I'll survive watching them together again after w-we..."
"Hey, hey, take a deep breath." Yeosang urged when Wooyoung started to hyperventilate. His heart ached when he tried to imagine himself in Wooyoung's position and he felt even worse when he realized he couldn't. He had absolutely no idea what the younger was going through... "Just talk to him. Don't let this fester. I should have talked to Jongho more... N-Now look at what happened." All of his emotions burst forward and Yeosang slapped both hands to his face to cover his tears.
Wooyoung was there in seconds, rubbing his back and pulling him into his own chest.
Mingi was back after another thirty minutes with a defeated look on his face. He didn't say anything when Wooyoung moved over to the passenger seat so that he and Yeosang could continue to hold and comfort each other.
Yeosang appreciated it too. He hadn't been able to spend much time with the younger yet, but he had to admit he was impressed by how caring someone with his past could be.
They both looked at Mingi as he got situated, waiting for the thief to speak. "There are cameras there, we should get access to those when we get back." He looked at Yeosang with mournful eyes. "But I think he's been taken."
Yeosang immediately turned to bury his face into Wooyoung's neck and sobbed. He was so scared for his love. What would Mercer do to him? Would they even be able to get him back?
Mingi pulled away from the parking lot, leaving their other car behind for someone to retrieve later and took them home after making sure to drive through a few neighborhoods first.
There was no sign they were being tailed, though. In fact, the streets were starting to empty as the day grew darker.
Once back at the underground complex, Yeosang hurried to his setup and let his trusty fingers dart over the keyboard to hack into the store's security cameras. He watched as Jongho followed the Pack members and fought with them in the store.
Then he watched as he was taken out and hauled away with his arms bound tightly to his sides.
Wooyoung sucked in a breath when he saw that and started to tremble next to him. He also cursed when Yeosang used the street cameras to follow the progression of their suv.
"Do you know where this is?" He asked when they finally lost sight of the car.
"I recognize it from when Seonghwa and I escaped... I know we all thought this would be the case, but I don't know what we are going to do." He looked to both Mingi and Yeosang. Everything about his stance, face, and eyes screamed that Wooyoung wanted to run away. He was terrified...
"What is it, Youngie?" Mingi placed a hand on his shoulder, causing him to flinch.
"They are taking him directly to M-M-Mercer."
