Chapter 17: Meeting

Chaeryeong's POV

After I left the girls, I quickly ran to our house, determined to not cross paths with my parents or anybody for that matter. I was already near our house, but instead of slowing down, I only ran faster because of the time.

I see our house and quickly went in the yard, before completely going in the house. Once, I was in I quickly looked around, for them.

'Well, it looks like they aren't here yet... So, I'm still safe... for now that is.' I thought, and quickly went to my room and locked the door. Once, I was inside I quickly went towards my desk and opened my laptop, and quickly open the messages that Ryujin eonni sent me.

And she was right, it is an attachment, I quickly clicked it, and it started downloading, it was actually super slow, so I decided to research about the game.

And, before I knew it, it was already eleven, In the night.

Author's POV

It has been four days, ever since both Chaeryeong and Taehyun downloaded the game on their laptops. They both followed what their friends said, and just for precautionary measures, their friends even had to take their laptops just to be sure of it.

This, both youngsters both strongly disagreed with it. But, in the end the older ones won, the argument especially the girls, because they had Ryujin with them, and Ryujin is one of the most hard-headed people you might know.

So, today is the day that they can actually play or maybe just log in the game, after downloading it. Both, of them are getting ready, because their friends told them, to get comfy while playing because once you play the game, it will be hard to log out of it.

And the two youngsters didn't want to believe them, and wanted to experience it for themselves, so before the time of meeting came, they quickly played a little, not knowing that, something will happen.

Chaeryeong's POV

Once, I got my laptop, I quickly searched for some things in this game, and so I did. After, searching some things, I decided to log in already without the girls knowing.

I opened the application and when I did, it started loading, and a message popped in.

"There are no available Characters in the Game, would you like to make one or open an existing one?"

Make One || Existing One

I read it, and quickly clicked the "Make one" button. Which led me to a character customization, place and I do admit it looked super fancy, it feels like you're in a castle. Which, in general you are in the castle, but just for the character customization process. Because, the real thing in this game is to reach the castle.

Once, I finished customizing my character I clicked the button on the lower right corner, and that quickly transported me somewhere else. It looks like a town square, it had so many people in it, it also had so many beautiful, colorful, and odd looking stalls around it. There are so many words to describe this place, but I think "Lively" can describe it in every way, there is.

I was walking around, while also looking around in the game, when I coincidentally bumped into somebody, to which resulted us to be on the floor either sitting down, or laying down. I quickly stood up and helped the other party, and from the looks of it the person is also very new to this game, just like me.

We stared at each other for quite some time now, just looking at the both of us and how we look like, and the anonymous person, suddenly smiled and stood up. Reaching a hand to me, to help me stand up again, which I happily took, once he pulled me up, he smiled, to which I smiled back at him.

But, there's something I want to know. 'Why am I smiling at a stranger?' I mentally scolded myself.

'I couldn't even smile at my Seatmate or anybody at school. But, here I am smiling at a stranger.' I once again, mentally scolded myself.

I was about to leave, when somebody held my hand, naturally people who was being held, turns around, but the thing is I'm not like them.

So, I didn't turn around, like how other people do.

"Umm, excuse me. But, can you please help me?" The person said.

Since, my conscious was already eating me up, I decided to turn around. Just to meet the person that I bumped into, earlier.

I quickly looked at him, "Umm, I'm sorry but, I can't help you... I'm also just new to this game. My friends just forced me to play it..." I said and looked down.

"Really?! Your friends also did that to you?" The person said, and as a response I only nodded at his question.

"Oh wow. My friends also forced me to play this game!" The person said, exclaiming.

I looked at him, shocked obviously. Cause, who we wouldn't have the same reason why we're here, at the first place.

"Then, were just the same then?" I asked him, and smiled a bit. While, he just nodded.

We kept on talking, while we were walking somewhere, peaceful that is. Until, he suddenly stopped on his tracks.

"Oh, I completely forgot. My bad, my name is-." He said, but then suddenly stopped talking.

I just looked at him, confused because he is currently scolding himself, after he noticed that I was looking at him. He quickly fixed his posture.

"I'm Tae." He said, while smiling and put out his hand, waiting for a hand shake with me.

I was considerably hesitant about this, because I just met him, and now we're getting closer. I mean, it's not that I don't want to make friends, it's just, and I don't think I can take risks anymore.

I've gotten myself, in so many problems lately, and he being friends with is just going to add up to it. But, just like what Yeji eonni and the other two said, nobody knows me here. So, I can be who I really am in this game, with nobody judging me.

After, some time contemplating whether I should befriend him or not. In the end, I decided I should be at least befriending him. So, I took his hand, and was about to say my name, when I suddenly remembered the rule. So, instead of my name, I decided to say my nickname.

"I'm Chae." I said, and smiled at him.

"Oh... Do you know both our names, sound alike?" He asked, and then laughed. This automatically made me laugh as well.

After, we said our names, we continued to walk towards a peaceful place, or maybe anywhere except this place.

Cause, this place is not and will not be the place where you can that it's 'peaceful'. We were still talking to each other, laughing and enjoying each other's company.

Once, we actually found a peaceful place, we sat down and just started talking to each other about some other random things, in life.

'Is this the feeling that the others said, that I was missing out?' I thought, mentally asking myself.

'If it is, then they're right... I'm missing out a big part of life.' I thought, and smiled.

I just listened to his stories and jokes, his stories are either very serious or funny, but mostly funny. Because, almost all of it, are about him being savage to his friends.

To be honest, I really enjoy his company. 'I really hope this never ends...' I thought, and just enjoyed our remaining time together.
