Chapter 14: About the Game

Chaeryeong's POV

Once I entered the canteen, everybody looked at my direction. After a few minutes they all either go back to what they were doing, earlier or they were whispering about me, once again.

Since, this is typical high school stuff, I'm used to it. After all who wouldn't be? If, this is your normal everyday life, then, it will be.

I quickly went over the counter to order my lunch, and once I got it. I went over to our table that is empty, because obviously, we always sit here, ever since our freshman year and nobody dared to sit down on it.

I sat there, just minding my own business and started eating my food, while waiting for the others. In short, I'm lonely. But, I know while I was eating I was also being observed by the other students in this school.

I was already done eating, by the time they all came; they were all eating right now. While I was busy scrolling on my phone, turns out that Yeji eonni and Lia eonni came right after recess.

Which was hours back, In short they arrived here a long time ago. They didn't even tell me, or Ryujin. They said, they wanted to 'Surprise' us, which low-key flopped, making both me and Ryujin laugh.

Midway, of them eating they started talking about a game, which I don't really play. Even though, I like playing games, I don't really care about this one, because almost the whole school likes playing that game. They all said that even the teachers are playing it, which is very weird.

But, midway of them talking about the game, they got my attention again, of course by calling me. Which annoyed me, knowing the reason why they called me. They just want me to join the game; they've been trying to convince me, ever since they started playing the game. To which, I just pouted at.

"What is it, now?" I asked them, while pouting.

"We just want you to join the game." Lia eonni said, while playing with her food, well to be exact the vegetables.

'She is literally, going to pay for playing with her food.' I thought.

"Well, no matter how much you guys try to convince me, my answer is still no." I said, and looked over at Ryujin.

"Ryujin-ah. Look at Lia eonni. She's playing with her food, once again." I said, while taking a glance at a surprised looking Lia eonni.

I saw Ryujin, take a glance at Lia eonni, before going at her direction and whispering something before going back to her sit, and continue eating. Which is weird, because I know, the Ryujin I know should scold Lia eonni.

"But, Ryujin! I don't like vegetables, especially, this, this. This, so-called 'Cucumber' of yours!" Lia eonni, protested, but got shut out with a glare from Ryujin.

Which, made the atmosphere or mood heavier, I quickly made a topic that can make or maybe just, maybe lighten up the atmosphere or mood.

"So, mind telling me the name of the game?" I asked them, which they all quickly looked up from eating looking surprised.

"Chae? Are you okay?" I heard Yeji eonni ask, to which to answer the question I just nodded my head.

"What? Can't I even ask a question, now?" I asked them, which they looked at me weirdly.

"Not really, but if you insist... Yeji? Maybe you should be the one to answer her question." Lia eonni said, looking at Yeji eonni's direction.

"Okay, so the title is, 'Life of Love' or for short 'LOL'." She said, and continued eating.

"Okay, maybe a run through would be nice too, you know?" I asked them sarcastically.

"It's basically a game of Love. You can also live the life you always wanted; In short you can change your fate there, where in you can interact freely with anybody, and have your own life. Basically you can have the life you always wanted to have, here in the real world. But, since you can't have it, the developers decided to make that game, for everybody to play in." Ryujin eonni said, while eating her chocolate pudding away.

"So, it's basically a Role Playing game?" I asked them, which they all answered with a nod, while still eating.

We were once again, quiet because of the atmosphere that surrounds us. Plus, they are all eating, I'm the only one who isn't actually eating, or in other words I'm already done eating. I looked at Yeji eonni, signaling her to start a conversation with the others, which she just happy sent a signal back.

"We also met three nice guys, over there. Too bad, that we don't know them. Cause, if we do know them, and we actually talk to them we may have a chance at them." I heard Yeji eonni say, which made me look up to her direction.

'That's surprisingly new. The Yeji eonni, I know is deeply and madly in love with, Yeonjun oppa.' I thought.

"Eonni. So, you're telling me that this 'game', that we're currently talking about, is a game of Love?" I asked her, to which she just nods her head happily while eating.

"So, you're also saying that you'll choose that guy that you met there, for Yeonjun oppa?" I asked her, which successfully grabbed her attention.

She quickly shook her head, as a sign meaning 'No.'. "Of course, not! Yeonjun is one of a kind. So, if the time comes and I have to choose somebody from the two of them, I'll still choose Choi Yeonjun." She said and continued eating.

"And why is that?" I asked her, while looking at my phone.

"Because, first love is the best." She said, and smiled.

'Pssh... "First love is the best", huh? Just wait and see eonni, you'll find out sooner or later, that he'll leave you.' I thought, and made a bored look, mentally.

I sighed, before waiting for them to finish eating, while scrolling in my phone.
