Chapter Thirty-Seven

Choromatsu gave Ichimatsu a sympathetic look the smiled a little.

"You don't have to be nice about it, Ichimatsu," Choromatsu said. "Tell us how it is. What do you want to say?"

Ichimatsu began to tremble even more, so much, that his legs gave out form beneath him, sending him crashing to the floor.

"Nii-san!" Jyushimatsu exclaimed, kneeling down beside his brother. "What's wrong?! Are you okay?!"

"I-I'm..." Ichimatsu mumbled, blinking, trying his best to see. But his vision had grown so blurry now, he might as well have been blind. "I'm fine..."

"My brother," Karamatsu began, and Ichimatsu cringed in pain. "collapsing to the floor isn't fine."

"Be honest now," Osomatsu said as all of them began to crowd around Ichimatsu.

"Are you alright?" Todomatsu asked.

Jyushimatsu sat down beside Ichimatsu and pulled him up so he could lean on him.

Ichimatsu sighed as he leaned his head on Jyushimatsu's shoulder. There was just something so disturbingly comforting about doing such.

"This is the last time I'll ever be able to do this, isn't it...?" Ichimatsu thought, tears well up in his eyes. "Jyushimatsu please don't leave me all alone...I don't want to be alone..."

"Well?" Choromatsu asked. "What did you want to tell us?"

"If I told them right now, 'I forgive you!', they would be so confused..." Ichimatsu thought, wanting to laugh in spite of his foolishness. "Why did I ever think going to the past was a good idea..."

"I just..." Ichimatsu croaked, his throat as dry as can be. "I..."

"Come on now," Osomatsu joked, rubbing under his nose. "It's not that hard to talk!"

"It is when you know the one person you care for has to die either way..." Ichimatsu thought, a tear finally escaping from his eye.

"Are you crying, Ichimatsu?" Todomatsu asked. "Don't cry..."

"I promise we won't be angry with whatever you say, my brother," Karamatsu said, grinning at Ichimatsu.

"Do you...remember?" Ichimatsu rasped. "the day before we were all sent back to the past?"

All of the brothers looked worriedly at each other, then back at Ichimatsu. They knew exactly what he was talking about.

"That day, I accidentally overheard a private conversation you were all having about me," Ichimatsu choked out. "but it's okay now...Nothing matters anymore..."

"Wait," Choromatsu began, his eyes looking quite worrie, as usual. "You heard that conversation?!"

Ichimatsu nodded his head weakly.

"I was told that...if I didn't forgive you over that incident, then something terrible would happen," Ichimatsu murmured.

"Like what? It's okay if you were mad at us..." Todomatsu said.

"Jyushimatsu will die if I don't tell them, won't he?" Ichimatsu thought, pressing his head into Jyushimatsu's shoulder. The comforting smell of his brother's hoodie just continued to make him feel worse by the second.

"J-Jyushimatsu..." Ichimatsu choked, tears running down his face. "Jyushimatsu will be erased from existence if I don't kill him in less than forty-eight hours now!"

Jyushimatsu looked down weakly at Ichimatsu then smiled with his mouth closed, rubbing his brother's head gently.

"That actually makes sense..." Choromatsu said. "And what about us?"

"I...I have to kill you too...or at least someone does..." Ichimatsu whimpered.

Jyushimatsu wrapped his arms around Ichimatsu, hugging him tightly, showing him how much he cared for his brother. But then, he quickly, yet gently, pushed Ichimatsu off of him and arose to his feet.

"Do it then, nii-san!" Jyushimatsu's exclaimed, laughing. "It makes sense!"

All of Ichimatsu's brothers lined up in front of him, and began to beg to be killed. But by doing such, Ichimatsu felt his heart shatter to bits as he began to sob loudly, not caring if his brothers would later mock him for this moment.

"I can't!" Ichimatsu screamed and choked. "I can't hurt the people who found me! I can't do that!"

"Then it looks like I'll have to," a female's voice said from behind Ichimatsu's brothers.

And though his vision was blurry, Ichimatsu knew who this girl was. It was Akari, once again, showing up when she shouldn't. And strangely, she was standing perfectly fine without her wheelchair.

Akari held out a different gun in front of her, aiming it at Osomatsu.

"This gun has exactly six bullets, Ichimatsu," Akari said, her voice ice cold. "And do you know what I'm going to do with them?"
