"From the village of Sapphire!"

The night has finally come, it is Elton's coronation night. Everyone came wearing beautiful gowns, men who are dashingly handsome while looking for a woman to take home, and kids who look so cute in their outfits. I have only watched these movies, read them in books on how exciting this is. Now, I am finally participating in this kind of program.

"Looking so lonely, Devina."

I turned to my side to see Ravina wearing a beautiful red gown with a gold design. This is the first time she let other people see her bare skin. She is indeed beautiful, and somehow we looked alike.

"Stop staring at me, hideous Lady." She spat.

I rolled my eyes and chuckled. "I haven't seen you wearing a beautiful gown, you look pretty tonight."

"Thank you, I don't like compliments." She said with a frown.

I shook my head in amusement. "Then, treat is an insult,"

She shook her head and disappeared from my view. I watched where she's going and there my heart broke into a million pieces. She walked towards Elton who looks so handsome in what he is wearing.

"Placito, I saw the table platter," I called Placito who is frowning on the staircase.

Mama Odelia and I did not have time to cook dinner. Mama Odelia and Iris are now preparing the spell for me to leave tonight. So Placito is a bit grumpy that he did not have the time to eat dinner.

Placito immediately stood up and we both went to the table platter. Tons of delicious meals were served. Placito grabbed a plate and started picking out his meal. I smiled as I watched him drool over that delicious food.

"What a surprise,"

My smile turned into a frown when I heard that voice. I took a deep breath and turned around to see the King.

"At least you were surprised," I whispered.

He smirked and placed his hand over to his chin. "Are you ready to hear who is Elton's future Queen?"

"I have always been ready," I answered with no feelings at all.

He nodded and cleared his throat. "Well then, I hope you find a man who is willing to marry a person like you."

"Elton is first on the line," I answered.

"My Lady," Placito called.

I smirked when I saw how furious the King is right now. I chuckled in amusement and clung to Placito's arm.

"What happened?" He whispered as we were walking away to look for a table.

"I just made him mad," I whispered back.

We sat down on an empty table while Placito started cleaning his plate. I am not sure if Mama Odelia and Iris can come. They said that the spell is very hard to manipulate, especially that they are not familiar with the place I chose.

"Good evening, everyone," the King started.

My breathing started to become abnormal. They are going to announce now who is Elton's future Queen. I bit my lower lip as I played with my fingers. I felt Placito's hand on mine.

"It is okay, my Lady," he assured making me feel at ease just a little.

My eyes wandered to look for Elton. And there he is, with his furrowed brows. Does he even know? It made me curious as to why he looks like that. He should be happy that finally, the King is going to step down and Elton will replace him.

"Father," Elton called but the King ignored him.

Ravina stopped Elton from going to his father. They started to yell at each other but I cannot hear what they are arguing about.

"I know everyone came here because of my son's coronation," the King continued.

Elton is now trying to escape from Ravina's hand. But Ravina kept firm on holding Elton back.

"What is happening between the prince and Ravina, my Lady?" Placito asked.

Everyone started whispering and chattering about how Ravina and Elton are acting. But the King did not even care at all. What are they all planning?

"I am now stepping down as King, and my son, Elton," he turned to point at Elton.

"Will finally take my crown," he continued.

"Father!" Elton called.

I stood on my chair and slowly walked towards the middle. My heart was pounding in fear of what could happen next. The guards have pushed Elton upstairs on where the King is standing. Ravina followed them behind. Elton was trying to fight back but the guards are very strong.

"I am proud of you, son," the King said.

He took his crown and slowly placed it on Elton's head. Elton was dumbfounded, he didn't know what to do nor to say. He was too overwhelmed. I gulped as I saw tears in Elton's eyes. Maybe because he was surprised that finally, the kingdom is given to his safe hands. I wiped my tears that rolled on my cheeks.

I am happy for Elton. Everyone can be grateful that it is now Elton who is handling the kingdom. Ever since I heard the story about the King, I lost my respect towards him and start hoping for a new start. A fresh start.

Elton now faced us. I was so happy for him, I covered my mouth with my both hands to contain my happiness. If I were beside Elton, I would hug him to death. My heart melted in joy, he looks handsome now that he is wearing the crown.

"And today is also the announcement for his Queen," the King added and the spotlight was back to him again.

Elton was looking for someone, his eyes were roaming the whole castle.

Are you looking for me?

My heart hoped. Everyone started clapping and cheering for Elton. They were very supportive.

A smile on his face formed when he saw me. He pointed at his head saying that he is already a King. I nodded and smiled back. I will never be Elton's queen, just like Edna have told me. It is Ravina who is stepping up to be his Queen. I have no problem with that, it is our deal after all.

"I give you the castle's sorcerer, Ravina." The King announced that made everyone dropped their jaw.

Even Elton was surprised. He looked at his father then glanced at Ravina who is smiling at him. When Ravina tried to touch him, Elton moved away. That is when everyone started whispering.

"How can a sorcerer be married to a King?"

"This is absurd!"

"Look at how disgusted the handsome King is! She does not deserve to be his Queen!"

"Isn't the Lady from another kingdom is destined to him?"

"Who is she?"

"I forgot her name! But she often visits here for charity!"

They don't even recognize me anymore. I have changed a lot. Everyone knew that I was going to be Elton's wife. But that is okay.

I let out a sigh and started walking away from the crowd. I went back to the table to see Placito with a worried face. He did not even finish his food. Tears were now forming in my eyes. And even before I get to break down, Placito caught me.

"You deserve to be the Queen, my Lady," he whispered.

"Even if I deserve it, he does not deserve me, Placito. I have caused him a lot of pain."

"Come on, my Lady. Let me take you home. I am sure mother is already waiting for us."

I nodded and fixed myself. I wiped my tears and took a deep breath. I should be happy that finally, I am going home.

We were almost near the door when Elton shouted, making everyone turn to him.

"No!"

I stopped in my tracks and turned towards him. He is in a lot of pain.

"Elton," the former King called.

"Is this your plan, father?" Elton spat.

Everyone stopped what they are doing and watches how Elton argues with his father.

"I did this because you deserve it," the King said with a low tone.

"I will not marry, Ravina," he firmly said.

"Oh my!"

"Go, King Elton!"

"Elton," Ravina touched him.

"You were part of this, weren't you?"

"I-I.." Ravina uttered.

"The only woman I will marry is the woman whom I've loved since I was a kid."

"My Lady, it is you," Placito whispered.

"Do not make this hard for everyone, Elton." The King gritted his teeth in anger.

"My whole life has been surrounded by whatever you wish you want me to do. But I had enough, father."

"Elton, please," Ravina pleaded.

"Lady Devina is my Queen, no man could change that."

Everyone gasped and even me. I was surprised, it was like Elton blurted out. He took off his crown and gave it to the guard with them upstairs. Elton walked downstairs while Ravina and the King were calling him. Everyone made way for him.

He was looking for someone inside the room. But I am a coward, I immediately turned my back and started walking away from the program. Placito kept calling me and I started running.

"My Lady!"

I stopped at the end of the stairs and took my shoes off. I am no Cinderella, but I cannot definitely run with my heels on. I pulled my dress up and started running with bare feet.

I cannot go to the village, so I turned to the forest where Placito and I went for a picnic. Wolves may attack at night, but that is okay for me. I'd rather be dead than to be alive right now.

"My Lady!"

Looks like they have followed me here. It was Edna's voice. I roamed to look around where I stopped. It is only the moon who gives light to this darkness in the forest.

Something was rustling over to my right. There is a small bush there. I gulped and ready myself for the fear that a wolf is going to attack me. But what surprised me the most is that it was Elton.

"Lady Devina," he panted.

"Have you found her, my King?" Edna appeared behind him.

Antonio followed with Placito on the side.

"Antonio noticed you taking off your shoes and running towards the forest," Edna explained.

"Elton, go back, Ravina, and your father needs you." I pleaded.

He shook his head. "I need you more here, do not go back to your real world."

My eyes widened in surprise. I glanced at Edna who is lowering her head right now.

"He caught me red-handed, my Lady," Edna said.

"I saw her walking out at night when I noticed she wasn't going home. That is when I caught her visiting you." Elton explained thoroughly.

"Devina,"

I turned to my side to see Mama Odelia with Iris.

"I am going home tonight, right?" I asked and hoped.

Mama Odelia shook her head. "Everything we told you, was a lie."

I scoffed. "It was all a lie? You're kidding?"

Mama Odelia shook her head. My heart started pounding and my legs went weak. I fell on my butt and started crying silently. Elton kneeled to caress my back and wiped my tears.

"We do not have the spell for you to go back," Iris said.

"The reason why I helped you is that I killed your mother, Devina." Mama Odelia sobbed.

"W-What?" I muttered.

"Long time ago, Elton's father loved your mom. But your mother loved your father so dearly. Elton's father was so mad, he made me a spell to kill your mother saying that it is a cause of a rare disease." Mama Odelia added.

"That is the reason, Mama stoops down, my Lady." Placito sniffed.

I cried out loud while Elton hugged me tightly. He caresses my back and hushed me down. I cannot go back, everyone lied to me, why did I even end up in this kind of place?

I'm fucked up.
