Chapter 16
Another World

"Mama! You promised not to do anything again with that awful King! You promised me, Mama!"
"I have no choice, Placito. Please, I am begging you, my dear child."
"Papa is dead, now you're going too?"
"No, no, no, my dear child. This is me, protecting you from him."
A mother's love cannot be compared to any love. I was busy washing the dishes while Mama Odelia and Placito are arguing on the second floor. I cannot blame both of them, they have their valid reasons. I am not in the place to side with anyone.
"My Lady?"
It was a matter of time when Edna arrived. Sometimes, Edna goes home to their house but there are also times where she sleeps beside me. It's her way of enjoying the little bit of time I have in this world.
"Is there something wrong?" She whispered as soon as she closed the door.
"Haven't you heard? The King is attacking." I whispered back.
She covered her mouth with both hands. "All I know is that coronation is coming, rumor says that Ravina is taking your place to be Elton's wife."
I felt like a bee stung my heart. It is painful, but Ravina and I have our own deal. I don't want to get in anyone's way anymore.
"I've heard about it, the King dropped by a while ago to invite me to the coronation."
Edna shook her head. "Why are they putting you to suffer?"
"It is because I learned about their plans. They are disgusting."
Edna chuckled. "No joke, my Lady."
Edna and I both sat down and waited for Mama Odelia and Placito to come down. They stopped shouting so I guess they have planned out something. Moments later and the two went down. Placito was still wiping his tears and Mama Odelia was a bit okay now.
"Oh, Edna," Mama Odelia called.
"Hi, Mama. I thought of visiting the Lady tonight to share here about the coronation."
Mama Odelia's brows furrowed. "Coronation? The prince?"
Edna pursed her lips and nodded. Mama Odelia let out a sigh and pulled a chair. Placito sat beside me and rested his head on my shoulder.
"Let me guess, a new woman will show up." Mama Odelia hissed.
Edna shook her head. "They say that Ravina will take the Lady's place."
"Ravina? I have never heard of a prince bring married to the castle's sorcerer. I'm pretty sure a commoner and a royalty had been used." Mama Odelia shook her head and massaged her temples.
"It is okay," I said to calm them both down.
"Are we all invited?" Mama Odelia asked.
I nodded at her. "Do you any dress shop here in the village?"
Mama Odelia's expression changed. From frowning, she beamed. She nodded at me and stood up.
"I have an old friend who is a tailor, we'll visit her in the morning. How about you, Edna?"
Edna waved her hand in front of Mama Odelia. "Oh no, I'm in charge of the chores inside the castle."
"Aww, that means I won't be seeing you at the coronation?" I pouted.
"Don't worry, my Lady! I'll make sure to find you once the coronation starts." She assured.
Morning came and Placito and I were busy counting all my money. I want to make sure that I'll afford the dress I'm going to wear. Mama Odelia cooked breakfast today.
When we got outside, everyone was so busy. It is because tomorrow is the coronation day. Prince Elton will now be an official prince and the King will step down. Mama Odelia said a requirement for being a King is to have a wife beside you.
"Where are we going?" I asked while walking away from the village.
"We're going to ride a carriage, my Lady," Placito answered.
"A carriage? Aren't those for royalties?" I tilted my head to the side.
Placito chuckled. "No, my Lady. There are carriages for commoners like us. But you have to pay them, of course."
We stopped at a terminal outside the village. You'll know when you're already outside is that when you see a huge gate with a symbol on it. Placito said that every village has its own huge gate with a symbol.
"This is so cool!" I beamed as the carriage ran away from the village.
We passed by so many trees and even some small rivers. Other villagers are there fishing, some are actually vendors.
"Placito look! A fruit stand!" I pointed to my right.
"Don't worry, my Lady. There's plenty of fruit stand at where we are heading." Placito answered.
The whole ride was very smooth and entertaining as well. I cannot believe that if you step outside the village, more wonders are waiting for you. We stopped by at another terminal and with just a few walks there is the village. With guards outside holding a rifle.
"Can we pass through here? Do they need identification?" I whispered as we slowly get closer to the village.
"No, my Lady," Placito whispered.
I nodded and fixed myself. Even this village is busy. I learned that all of the villages are invited to attend the coronation. It just so happens that the castle lies inside our village. But these villagers bow to one royalty, and that is the King.
Placito was right. Back in our village, more of the shops there are bakeries, shoes, and small clothing stores. While in this village, there are so many fruit stands, flower stands, and tailoring shops. All of the villages in the kingdom have their own specialty.
"This is so beautiful," I admired as we got deeper inside the village.
"Look, my Lady. Witches are everywhere." He whispered.
"Why? Aren't they going to kill these villagers?" I started to panic.
"No, my Lady. These witches are also treated as villagers. They have equality here, unlike in ours." He whispered back.
"Placito, do you want to visit your aunt first?" Mama Odelia asked.
"Are we going to see auntie Iris?" Placito got excited.
"Of course," Mama Odelia answered.
Placito clapped his hands and clung to my arms. His auntie Iris is Mama Odelia's sister. They both live in different villages because they can't be living on the same roof. It is forbidden, the castle's orders.
"Alright, alright, calm down." Mama Odelia chuckled.
We walked a little more until we stopped in front of a flower stand. Looks like Iris loves selling flowers instead of studying witchcraft.
I was distracted by the beauty of each flower. They also have this fresh smell which I totally loved! I wanted to buy a bouquet but I'm afraid I'll lose money for the dress I want.
"Iris!" Mama Odelia called.
"Who are you?!" A woman shouted underneath.
"Your sister, and nephew." Mama Odelia answered.
A woman suddenly appeared in front of us. Her hair is white, her skin is glowing and her face is so beautiful. She has a small pointy nose with heart-shaped lips. Her hair is below her shoulders and she's wearing this cute white dress.
"Auntie Iris!" Placito opened his arms.
"Little boy!" Iris squealed and ran to embrace Placito.
She also planted a small kiss on Mama Odelia's cheeks.
"I am glad to see you again, my dear sister. And you too little boy." Iris pinched Placito's cheeks.
She giggled and turned to me.
"Oh goodness, aren't you Lady Devina?" She covered her mouth with both hands.
"I guess I am," I said shyly.
But Iris frowned.
"Don't you remember me?" She asked, hopeful.
I bit my lower lip. Mama Odelia talked for me.
"She got kidnapped, remember?"
Her eyes widened in shock and kneeled in front of me. "I am sorry! My Lady, please do not take my life!"
My eyes widened. "W-What?!"
"Stand up, Iris. We have a terrible problem, and I know that you can answer that." Mama Odelia helped Iris to stand up.
She pouted. "I am sorry, anyways, what is the problem?"
"You told me before that you pick these flowers from anywhere you want right?"
Iris nodded. "Yes, why?"
"And you are familiar with portal spells?" Placito asked.
She chuckled and nodded. "What is going on?"
Mama Odelia turned to me and pushed Iris to my side. We formed a circle where no one can hear us.
"Because this girl, standing beside you is from another world." Mama Odelia pointed at me.
"And we really need your help, madam," I added.
She exchange glances between me and Mama Odelia.
"Really?"
