Chapter Two: The Chamber Of Secrets

We appeared at a train station before everyone else. Fred and George came through a fireplace and smiled at us.

"Ready lil' twins?" Fred smiled and brought us toward the train. I looked at my ticket and it said Platform 9 3/4. That's impossible.

"It's actually possible, lil' sis." I said that out loud? I shrugged as mom and dad led the way.

"Alright Fred, you first." mom said looking at a column between Platform 9 and Platform 10.

"He's not Fred, I am!" George argued to mom.

"Alright Fred." she ushered towards the wall.

"I'm only kidding, I am Fred." I laughed before George went through the wall. My eyes went wider than the platform itself.

"It's okay, Maddie. I was scared my first time too." Harry smiled at me.

"Want to do it together?" he asked and I nodded. We both ran towards the wall, with a bit of my hesitation. I squeezed my eyes closed and opened them when I stopped. My jaw fell open in awe as I looked at the train, the Hogwarts Express. The time finally came. I smiled next to Harry as Ginny appeared by my side.

"This is amazing." I agreed.

"Alright kids, this is it." mum smiled and nudged us toward the train. I followed Harry and Ron to an open compartment and sat down next to the window.

"Hey Harry, Ron." Hermione walked in and sat down next to Ginny.

"Hi Maddie, Hi Ginny." she smiled and I nodded. Ron put my trunk up along with Chestnut.

"Thanks Ron." I smiled and he nodded, sitting back down.

"Do any of you know where the bathroom is?" I asked. Hermione told me the directions and I thanked her. I walked towards the bathrooms and I spotted an owl that looked like our family owl, Errol. As I was about to look back, I collided with someone causing us both to fall to the ground.

"I'm sorry, I guess I wasn't watching where I was-" I looked up.

"Stay away from my sister, Malfoy!" I heard from behind me. Ron came running up and I backed aqay.

"Watch it, Weasley. You'd think you'd be a little more respectful to your superiors." Ron scoffed and Malfoy smirked.

"Just stay away from her." he pulled me back to the compartment. So much for using the bathroom.

I sat down next to Ginny again and she looked at me.

"What happened?" she whispered to me and I shook my head signifying I'd tell her later. I'm guessing she heard Ron, just as everyone did.

"Anything from the trolley?" we heard from the distance.

"Anything from the trolley, kids?" she came to our cart.

"No thanks, I'm all set." Ron said, pulling out a smushed pumpkin pasty. I looked away disgusted before she looked at me.

"No thank you, I'm set as well." I said, pulling up an unappetizing peanut butter and jelly.

"We'll take the lot." Harry said before he pulled a handful of galleons out of his pocket. My eyes went wide along with Ginny and Ron's.

"These are amazing!" I said flabbergasted at the fancy wrapping for the Chocolate Frogs.

"Are these real frogs?" I asked Hermione.

"No, it's just a spell. It's the cards you really want." She put a flavored bean into her mouth before spitting it out.

"Yech, vomit!" she said grossed out. I opened a chocolate frog and it jumped out onto the window.

"Watch out," Ron warned as it jumped out. "rotten luck." I shrugged and looked at the card.

"Who's this?" I showed Harry and his face went pale. Nobody said anything and I was confused.

"Was it something I said?"

"That's V- He Who Must Not Be Named." Ron croaked and Harry flushed to his normal color, a little redder.

"That's Voldemort." he said firmly while Hermione and Ron gasped.

"What's wrong with Voldemort?" I asked.

"He killed my parents." I gasped as my eyes went wide.

"Harry, I'm so sorry. I didn't-"

"It's fine, Maddie." I looked down before we went to put our gowns on. Once we all slipped on our gowns, I took a look at them.

"Why are mine and Ginny's plain?" I pointed to the badge on Ron, Harry, and Hermione's robes.

"Oh, I almost forgot to mention. You'll both be sorted into a house; Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Slytherin," Ron sounded disgusted at Slytherin. "or Gryffindor, like us."

"If you're lucky, you'll be in Gryffindor. All you have to hope for is anything but Slytherin." I looked confused but just nodded. We unloaded off the train and towards the gates.

"Alright, everyone get into a boat. Four per boat." I saw Ginny, Ron, Harry, and Hermione pile into a boat. I sighed and Hermione gestured to Hagrid.

"Can't we fit one more in, Hagrid?" I looked at Hagrid and he shook his head sadly.

"Sorry Maddie, rules 'er rules." I sighed and nodded looking for an open boat. I checked for Fred, George, Bill or Percy but their boat was full as well.

"Anyone have an open seat? Anyon- ah, Malfoy!" I looked over to a boat with the slick blonde hair. I groaned, after what I have heard, I don't want anything to do with him.

"Weasley, go with Malfoy." I nodded and made my way to the boat. There were two others in there with him.

"Well, well. Weasley, what's your name?" I hesitated and he noticed.

"You can tell me ya know, I don't bite." he laughed with the others. I looked at Hermione and the others and they looked at me with apologetic faces.

"Madeline." I said shortly and quietly.

"You probably already know but I'm Malfoy, Draco Malfoy." he smirked and I nodded.

"And this is Crabbe and Goyle." he gestured to the two figures beside him.

"If you're lucky, you'll get sorted into Slytherin like us. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort." he said, scoffing at my brother's boat. I just looked out over the water hoping this tension would disappear and we'd get to the castle. It was if Merlin had heard me because my prayers were answered. We pulled up to the beach and we all got out. As soon as I stepped out, I ran to my friends.

"Maddie, I am so sorry." Harry apologized and I just shrugged.

"It's fine, really Harry. It's not your fault, any of you." They nodded and we made our way into the castle.

"First years, follow me please." an older lady with a green gown and matching hat asked politely. We followed quickly behind and she led us to two pairing doors. A boy came up and retrieved a toad right beside my feet before apologizing and exiting back into another group.

"Wait right here, with the 2nd years. Professor Dumbledore is giving a speech to the upperclassmen." she smiled and made her way in, closing it behind her. 

A long wand tapped my shoulder after a while before the professor lead us into a big room. People were gathered on tables with goblets and plates.

"Follow me." she said again.

"The ceiling is bewitched, it's made to look like the night sky. I read about it once." I looked up amazed and smiled.

"First years, you'll all be sorted into houses in which you shall go sit on that table, alright?" the same professor said and we all nodded.

"Smith, Jessie." an old hat sat on top of the girl's head before shouting something.

"Hufflepuff!" she smiled, hopping down from the stool.

"Brunswich, Ryley." the boy went up and ended up being sorted into Ravenclaw.

"Weasley, Ginevra." Ginny was sorted into Gryffindor and the whole table cheered. So that leaves- Slytherin, hopefully not.

"Weasley, Madeline." I made my way up there nervously and sat on the stool.

"Hmm, another Weasley. You have the smarts of a Ravenclaw, and bravery as a Gryffindor, but you also possess the determined ways of a Slytherin. Hmm, where to put you? "

Not Slytherin, Not Slytherin.

"Not Slytherin, eh? Well then, better be.."

"GRYFFINDOR!" it shouted and I sighed with relief and went to sit next to Ginny.

"Thank Godric, I was so nervous." Percy chuckled at me.

"No doubt you're a Gryffindor." he smiled and George high-fived me. I looked over at the Slytherin table and saw a slightly unhappy Draco Malfoy. Why?

"Why what?" Harry asked.

"Oh nothing." I mumbled and looked back over there through my ginger hair. Why does he look unhappy?

All these characters belong to J.K. Rowling. All credit goes to her for some of the plot and all of setting (characters, etc.) I made Maddie Weasley, that is it. I am just a girl who wants to write fanfictions.
