Hime woke up as soon as she heard the sound of her alarm.
~6:45~
Hime: *crap! i'm late!!*
Hime rushed downstairs immediatly and went to the bathroom
Hime: *this is not happening, this is not happening. I'm late!! I'm supposed to at school before 7!! This is not happening!!*

Suddenly Hime heard a knock on the door
Ayumi: One-chan!! I have to pee!!

Hime: Not now Ayumi!! I'm late for school!

Ayumi: School??? Hime, today is weekend. 

Hime stopped...... 
Hime: *that doesn't make anysense, if today is weekend I'm sure that I set my alarm off. Unless-*

Ayumi: *oh no, I fogot.*
Ayumi tried to tiptoe away from Hime but she was too late.

Hime: AYUMI!! YOU'RE GONNA GET IT THIS TIME!!!
Hime chased her sister all over the house, she figure it out. Her sister pranked her again, by setting her alarm too early.

After few minutes.
Ayumi: That was harsh Hime.

Hime:.........

Ayumi: *it's best not to disturb her.*

The sisters ate thier breakfast without talking to each. Then Ayumi notice a dark aura coming out of Hime.

Ayumi: *it's best not to disturb her. But... I wan't to tease her about something..*

Hime: *munch, munch.*

Ayumi: So Hime.....

Hime: Hmm??

Ayumi: *good, she's back...*  What are your plans today??

Hime: Hmm, well I promised Azami that I'll go to cardcapital today.

Ayumi: Oh...

Hime: Why something wrong?

Ayumi: *grins* Oh nothing, I just thought you'll meet Aichi again

Hime started to blush
Hime:I'm leaving.

Ayumi: Eh? 

Hime head out straight to the door. As soon as she closed their gates, she rushed to cardcapital.

Azami: Himeeee!!
When Hime turned around she saw Azami rushing to her side

Azami: Are you ready!!??

Hime: I'm. . . .sorry

Azami: Eh? What happened?

Hime: I forgot my deck at school, and well today is weekend so the school is. . .

Azami: Meanie, well let's head to cardcapital anyways. 
Azami said trying to control her anger

Hime: Hai!

~Aichi~
Aichi walk inside cardcapital, and he saw Kai. He thought of the idea of fighting him, and quickly rush to his side

Aichi: Kai!!
But when the boy turned around

Stranger: What? Who?

Aichi: . . . . . Eh, never mind
Aichi bowed down
Aichi: Gomen! I got the wrong person!!

Aichi sighed, *that was embarassing*  He thought....

Store Manager: Well look who it is.

Aichi turned around
Aichi: Oh, hey Shin.
Then he went to the counter and scanned his deck

Shin looked at Aichi. Then wondered
Shin: Having a good time?

Aichi looked shocked.
Aichi: Huh? Yeah! Totally!

Shin: Cause when you walk in here today, you look kinda sad like you'd been stood up by your girlfriend or something.

Suddenly the cardshop doors opened
Hime: Hello!!

Azami: Good Morning!!

Aichi dropped his cards,
Hime: Eh? What happened to AIchi?

Shin: Oh...  I see...

Aichi quickly followed
Aichi: That's not it!! I was dissapointed becuase Kai wasn't here

Shin: Oh yah, now that you mention it I haven't seen  him these past days.

Hime: Kai??

Azami: Why do you want to see him so badly?

Shin: Yah, why?

Aichi: Well, I was hoping that I could have another Vanguard fight with him!!
Then Aichi and  Kai's fight flashes.

Aichi: At our first fight, I couldn't help but feel like he was holding back a bit because I was new to the game.

Hime: You have a point.

Aichi: Since that day, I have a bunch of other battles and I know the rules pretty well, and I'm  having fun too! Plus I might have gotten a little better. So I wanna fight Kai again, and show him that he doesn't have to take easy on me.

Shin smiled at Aichi
Shin: I think I just saw a twinkle in your eye.

Aichi: Huh?

Shin: That's always how it is with new players, we're having so mucg fun that it doesn't matter whether we win or lose.

Azami: Yah,I remeber when I started playing Vanguard.

Hime: Yah

Shin: Can I look at your deck?

Aichi: Sure!
As Aichi give his deck to shin, Azami and Hime whispered to Shin

Hime: Manager? Why do you want to scan Aichi's deck?

Shin: Well,why don't you figure it out. 

Shin stood up, and the assistant cat frantically jumped out of the way. Shin grabbed Aichi's deck, and scanned it seriously.

Shin: Hmm
Azami and Hime quickly peeped into Aichi's deck

Aichi: Is something wrong?

Azami: For me nothing's wrong
Hime rolled her eyes

Hime: Look closely Azami.

O_o Azami:  . . . . . . . . . .hmm. . . . . . . . OHH!!-
Hime covered Azami's mouth

Shin: Here's the plan, why don't you swing by the shop on your way home from school tomorrow. I'll have a surprise for you

Aichi: Tomorrow?

~The next day~
Hime, Azami, Morikawa, Izaki and Aichi went to cardcapital

Morikawa: ~A surprise~A surprise~A surprise~

Izaki: So what is this surprise?

Izaki: *laughs slowly* You're right

Aichi: Hime, you know?

Hime: Ofcourse 

The gang stopped as they reached card capital. Morikawa was the first one who spoke.

Morikawa: We've arrived

Shin: Huh?

Morikawa: I hear that you've got a surprise or something, well how about you share some with me
Just then a dark aura appeared from Hime, her red eyes have also appeared.

Hime: Morikawa...

Morikawa slowly turned his head around

Hime(whisper): This surprise is for Aichi and Aichi only. I think-

Azami: Now now, Morikawa I don't think you need the surprise. Becuase-

Izaki: I think Morikawa's soul drifted away.

Hime returned back to normal
Hime: Oh no!! Morikawa!!!

Aichi(laughs slowly):  Ahahahaha

Shin: I'm glad that you came Aichi

Aichi: Thanks

Morikawa regained his concious 
Morikawa: Card boss! What's th nice thing you got for him huh??

Shin: Haha, well to figure that one out, you're gonna need a vanuard battle first.

Azami: Hime! Let's seat on one of those chairs!

Hime: Sure.
Hime and Azami ignored the gang and sat down at the table behind the one with the vanguard mat.

Aichi: A vanguard battle?

Shin: Yes, and once that match is over. You'll understand what the surprise is.

Morikawa: Well, count me in.

Shin: I think you're good Morikawa, it's Aichi who needs to see this.

Aichi: Huh?

Shin: You see I was gonna fight you myself, but I need to go somewhere else to get the new stack of cards. So in my place-

Then the store manager looked at Misaki

Shin: I'd like you to battle Misaki.

Hime: Wait, Misaki's the girl in the counter right?

. . . . . . .  . . . . 

Aichi: Eeeeh???!!!!

Misaki:What!!?? You can't be serious! I got to fight this guy?

Shin: Yup, that's right

Misaki: Uncle, you can't make me

Shin: It's shop manager

Misaki: Don't play games with me Shin, you know that I've never have vanguard battle before.

Azami: Wait, what?

Everyone opened their mouths, wide. (I mean who wouldn't? XD)
Hime: What??

Izaki: How can that be? You're here everyday!

Misaki: I only work for Shin to make extra money! You think I care about cardfight?

Shin: It's shop manager.

Aichi: It's hard to believe that a surprise will be revealed using a vanguard battle, or are you just messing with?

Shin smiled
Shin: You'll know when the fight is over, and I'm not playing tricks okay?.......... Oh no!!! I'm gonna be late for the pickup!! I made this deck for you

Misaki: *Is he serious? He knows that I can't cardfight, right?* But-!

Shin: I'm sure you'll be just fine Misaki

Misaki sighed in defeat
Misaki: Well, what about the shop huh?

Shin: Huh? 

Misaki: While w're having this Vanguard fight, who's gonna watch the counter for us?

Shin: Oh yah.
Then shin scanned the room.
Shin: Well in that case, use the assistant cat.

A.C(assistant cat): Meow

-_-Misaki: Seriously?

~A minute later~

Miwa: Yo! Yo! Yo!

Then the assistant cat greeted Miwa

^_^A.C: ~Meow~

Miwa: Uhm, what happened here?

Then Izaki explained everything

MIwa: Really the manager said that?

Izaki: Yup, that's why they look so serious
Then Miwa observed the two vanguard fighters.

Miwa: . . . . . . .hmm. . . .  . . Then, what's up with that guy?
Miwa said as he point at Morikawa

Morikawa: Can't you tell?

Miwa: Actually no.

Morikawa: I'm not just gonna sit here and watch Aichi get something amazing while I don't. I have to make sure that doesn't happen, Aichi LOSE THE FIGHT!!

Azami: Morikawa lost it.

Hime: Yah
Hime said while looking at her new cards from the booster pack

Azami: Hey Hime, Miwa looks cool right?

Hime: yah

Azami: Oh yah I noticed, Kai isn't by his side.

Hime: Yah
Azami looked at Hime, confused. Then she noticed she wasn't listening at all. She grinned and grabbed her phone, she pressed recorder. 

Azami:  You think Miwa's hot right?

Hime(who's still busy): yah

Azami: You love Miwa, right?

Hime: Yah yah, definetly.

Azami: Hahahahahaha!!

Hime stopped looking at her cards, and looked at Azami
 Hime: What's wrong?

Azami pressed play, and after the video
Hime: My life has ended!! What the hell?!! Give me that phone!

Azami: You can't make me
then she stuck her tongue out

~Back to the Vanguard fight~
Misaki: *So it's this kind of deck, I wonder what Shin is thinking though. He totally needs to buy me another 2  or 3 outfits becuase of this*

Aichi: *She's never have a fight before, so maybe I should go easy on her.*

Misaki: Let's start

Aichi: Sure thing!

Then both of them shuffled their decks. But later on Misaki mishuffled her deck and dropped some cards, she blushed

Misaki: Uhm, sorry!! Let me shuffle again

Aichi: Uhm yah *she's not used to handling cards* Please, cut my deck.

Then both of them exchanged and shuffled, then they returned their decks. They drew the top 5 cards of thier decks, then they touch the starting vanguards.

Aichi: Let's imagine

Misaki: Ok

Azami: Hime, stop! The fights starting!

-_- Hime: I'll get you later

MIsaki and Aichi: Vanguards! Stand up now!

Then both of them flipped their starting Vanguards

Misaki: Lozenge Magus

Aichi: Stardust Trumpeter

Aichi and Misaki's Vanguard are now present in planet cray.

Misaki: I'll take first turn. Ok? 
She started by drawing, then she placed oracle guardian gemini on the Vanguard circle
Misaki: I ride oracle guardian gemini. Then I used Lozenge's effect to slide her to the rear-guard

Izaki: She's such a rookie, check it out you guys!

Misaki: Don't make me come there.

Izaki and MIwa shakened
Izaki: I'm sorry!

Misaki: It's your turn

Aichi nodded, then he drew a card. He placed Marron on top of stardust, then he called allies. He attacked Misaki's Vanguard with Wingal and Flogal.

MIsaki: Check for damaage trigger
Nothing

Aichi proceeded with little sage Marron, then he checked for a drive trigger. Epona
Aichi: All effects will go to Marron!

Misaki checked for 2 damage triggers
Misaki: DRAW TRIGGER active.

Aichi: Draw trigger?

Misaki: I can draw a card, thanks to it's effect. And now I check for the second damage trigger.

Hime: She got another one?

Misaki: Draw trigger

Aichi: *triggers that grow the size of your hand?  Is that really helpful*

Miwa: 3 damage on his first turn! Man.

Izaki: I guess Aichi is showing no mercy, that's a got start.

Morikawa appeared
Morikawa: Maybe I'm not praying hard enough!!!! AICHI, don't you dare win!!

A sweatdrop appeared on Aichi, 
Aichi: Uhm.....

Misaki: Shut up!

MIwa and Izaki quickly covered Morikawa's mouth
Miwa: Sure!

Izaki: We're sorry.

Misaki calmed down and drew a card, 
Misaki: I ride Maiden of Libra.Then, I call 2 silent toms

Hime: Say Azami, you use oracle right?

Azami: Yah.

Hime: Look.

Azami: Silent Toms. Nice

Misaki: I attack Marron with Silent tom

Aichi: Then I guard with Flogal

Misaki: No, you can't do that. Silent tom's skill prevents that, a grade 0 card can't guard his attacks. 
Misaki grinned
Misaki: Too bad.

A card appeared on Aichi's damage zone.
Aichi: *There are cards that you can't guard against? This is Misaki's first fight, but she knows how to use cards well. I must not let my guard down*

Miwa: Wow, not bad

Morikawa: That's the way! Go and defeat Aichi!!

Misaki:Shut up!

Morikawa: Sorry

After few minutes Aichi got the lead. He has 2 damage, while Misaki got 3. 

Aichi started his turn confidently. He drew his avatar, Blaster Blade

Aichi: *Yes*  STAND UP, MY AVATAR. BLASTER BLADE!!! Blaster Blade's counteblast, retire Silent Tom.

Misaki placed Silent Tom at the dropped zone. Aichi continued by calling comrades, then he attacked. Misaki guarded the first one. But when Blaster Blade attacked her vanguard the attack suceeded. Misaki checked for a damage trigger

Misaki: Draw Trigger. I draw
A smile appeared on Misaki's face
Misaki: It's about time.

Then Aichi finished his turn by attacking Silent Tom with Wingal

Aichi: Yes! The silent toms are gone!

Misaki: Don't count your chickens yet, we're just getting started. The beauiful goddess shining radiantly. RIDE! CEO AMATERASU!!!

Miwa: Amaterasu? A grade 3?

Izaki: She has one of those?

Morikawa:The strongetst card in all of vanguard,
Then he began to smile widely
Morikawa: GRADE 3!!

Miwa: You sure love you grade 3s

Morikawa: Ofcourse! They're strong after all, like me!
Suddenly a small cruppled paper hit Morikawa
Morikawa: Ouch! What the-?

Hime: L-I-A-R!!!

Morikawa: Shut up!

Aichi stared at Misaki's Vanguard confused
Aichi: Grade 3?

Misaki: Amaterasu's  skill activated. I draw one card and put that card in the soul. Then I get to check the top card of my deck.

Aichi: Check the top card?

Misaki: If this skill is activated, I can check the top card, and decide if I leave it on the top, or place it at the bottom.

Aichi: Is there a point to that?

Azami: *facepalm* Aichi is really clueless

Misaki: You'll see soon enough
Misaki peeped into her deck, then she placed the top card at the bottom.
Misaki: I call 2 wiseman and a gemini. Wisema attacksBlaster blade!

Aichi: I guard with Epona

Misaki: I add gemini's power to Wiseman and attack Blaster Blade!
Aichi checked for a damage trigger.

Aichi: Heal trigger! I heal one damage-

Misaki: No, you can't. You can only do that when your damage is more than mine.

Aichi: *gasp* I can't heal.

Miwa: Wow, she knows the cards, the rules. She's a pro, even though this is her first fight.

Misaki: I always watch the shop at the counter. As time passes, I memorized without even trying. For example, since I'm using Oracle think tank. I remember Azami playing it at it's best. That's why I'm not that new. If I don't know a thing then how can I serve the costumers?

Aichi: So that's why you know so much. But I can still add 5000 to Blaster Blade! 

Misaki: I attack with Ceo Amaterasu, TWIN drive.

Aichi: Twin Drive?

Misaki: Grade 3s have an ability called twin drive. They can check for a drive trigger twice. First check

Misaki: Second check

Aichi: *yes, no triggers*

Misaki: Wait

Aichi: Huh?

Misaki: Amaterasu's skill, when I hve 4 or more cards in hand she recieves +4000 power.

Aichi: *oh no, she has 5 cards*  I see, that's why those draw triggers mattered. It was to activate Amaterasu's ability..

Misaki: I'm happy for you that you realized it. Too bad it's too late.

Amaterasu summoned the sun, and attacked Blaster Blade with full strength.

Izaki: Wow

Morikawa: Amaterasu..... Yup grade 3s are awesome.

Aichi: I wont lose.Draw
He drew Epona

Aichi: Wingal ang Flogal change places, then i retire Flogal and call gallatin! I attack Amaterasu with Gallatin!

Misaki: no guard

Hime: Misaki already has 5 damage

Azami: Yah, one more and it's all over.

Aichi: Flogal suppots Blaster BLade and attacks your Vanguard!

Misaki: I guard  with chocolat.

Azami: Perfect guard

Misaki: Using her skill. I discard a card to completely nolify the attack.

Aichi: Drive check, EPONA. I give all to Gallatin

MIsaki: I guard with chocolat

Hime: 2 perfect guards???!!

Misaki: It's time to finish this. Draw, I activate Amateru's skill. Soulcharge and check the top card.
Then she put the card at the bottom
Misaki: Call! I use cocoa's skill, just like amaterasu. I'll leave this card on the top, miracle kid bossts wiseman and attack Blaster Blade!

Aichi: I guard with Epona!! I'll guard your attack no matter what!

Misaki: I attack Blaster Blade with Wiseman and Gemini!

Aichi: I guard with Epona!

Misaki: I power up Amaterasu with Cocoa and attack Blaster Blade

Aichi: Oh no!  I used up my whole hand!

MIsaki: Twin drive, first check.

Hime: *That's the card from before*

Misaki: The reason why I left this card here, is becuase to get a trigger whie doing a drive check.

Aichi: *Critical trigger!!* 

Misaki: Amatrasu's power just went up by 5000, and 1 critical. Second check no trigger. But Amaterasu's power is 21000. This is the power of grade 3s. Yes a deck, like yours, with no grade 3 don't stand a  chance.

2 cards went to Aichi's damage zone, making the game over

Azami: TING TING TING TING TING!!  And  the winner is  MISAKI!!!

Miwa: It's over

Morikawa: Aichi

Hime: Lost

After that Aichi went to the counter
Aichi: *Grade 3s, amazing. I don''t have anything like that in my deck.*

Shin: You lost to Misaki??

Aichi: Huh?? Uh, yah!

Shin: And did you see something?

Aichi: Yes, I saw that I still have a lot to learn. The world of Vanguard is much more vast than I thought

Shin: That's the nice thing I wanted to show you

Aichi: Huh?

Shin: We''re all like that, super eager to to play the game, and yet only knowing a bit about it. That's not how you get better though. And you're gonna defeat Kai with that, right?

Aichi: Oh

Shin: I'm glad you saw it. That's a big step today.

Azami: You should have seen Hime, when she was a beginner!

Hime: Not a one word Azami, not one word

She went to Aichi
Azami: Sh e thought a grade 2 can boost XD

Aichi: hahaha

Hime:  I said not one word!!
Then Hime  blushed from embarrasment

Miwa: Vanguard means a lot to that kid.

Morikawa:  I learned many from that fight

Izaki: And what excactly did you learn?

Morikawa: Oh not much
Then he removed his hand from the table, revealing a bunch of grade 3s
Morikawa:  Only a few grade 3s that I need for my deck. HAHAHAHA

Miwa: Please say you're kidding

Shin: If you have questions about cards, you ca ask me anything ok?

Misaki: As long as he keep playing here, right?

Shin: Hahaha

Aichi: Thank you very much. * Grade 3s and all those cards I've never seen before. i want to know more about Vanguard, and get stronger. So the next time I face Kai*

On the way home

Azami: Aichi, if your deck is ready , please fight Hime

Hime:  ........

Aichi: Hime? Why her? She's strong right?

Azami: I just want to find out the results when you fight a fellow royal paladin.

Aichi: Hime's using royal paladin?

Azami: Well yah! Her avatar looks like yours  Aichi, it sounds like  your avatar also.

Aichi: Really? What is  it's name?

Azami:  Arrow Blade, XD. So promise me ok?Fight Hime when you're ready.
