Ultra-rare was already on stage with the MC.

"So let us explain the vanguard national rules for you guys!" Ayia started

" And how each will play!" Rekka added

"As you all know, all 32 teams will be dived into 8 blocks " Mc explained

"There will be four teams competing against each other. And the two top teams will move on the next round " Kourin added

"How will we decided among the teams though?" Ayia asked 

"we'll decided with their performance! For example if you had 4 wins, you'll absolutely qualify! The one with 3 wins also has chance." Suiko answered

"So if we win 4 matches we'll qualify immediatly." Aichi thought "Let me go first."

The team was shocked by his proposal.

"I will win for sure!!" Aichi's eyes lit a fire.

"Aichi." Shin smiled at his determination

"I'll go second." Misaki volunteered " I mean I cause you guy trouble in the regional right?"

"Third is mine" HIme said looking at Kai

"Hmph, it doesn't matter."

"Ok!! Here's the list of A block!" Kourin cheered

Team Asteriod.

"Woah! Team PQ4 is in the A block!" Shin exclaimed

"Is that-?" Hime's voice trailed off.

"Team Asteriod! They're the last years champions!"

"We met heir leader, right?" Misaki said

"You mean Ren."

Kai was shocked at their words.

"Yah, he was really strong."

"Really...Well figures. But why do we have to face them early...This is worrisome.." Shin crossed his arms.

"Oh good. A block is playing here."Miwa said

"Phew!"

"It's a pain to move right?" Izaki commented 

"Lucky!!" Morikawa beamed

"Hey..Is it just me, or I just don't see Ren around?" Hime asked turning around

"Hmm.. Yah he's not here."

"Long time no see Kai." 

Kai just calmly turned to the man. "Tetsu."

"What's wrong tetsu?" a white haire boy asked

"A friend of yours? " assumed a blue haired girl

Another pink haired girl came towards them running "huff...huff. Sorry Asaka, Kyou... I think we'll be participating in the first  round."

"Tch we already saw that Shimazaki." Kyou rolled his eyes.

"Oh really??"she scratched  her head, embarassed " Hahah sorry. And you don't have to be shy Kyou, we're teammates for a long time, you can call me Hinagiku you know. When we're not outside you always call me that." she smiled

"Hi-hinagiku!! Shut up."

"I know them!" shin said "Those 4 are from team asteriod!"

Aichi and Misaki were surprised. But Kai and Hime knew them well

"...Hinagiku." Kai called

Hinagiku turned around, sadness filled her face "Kai..." then she looked at the girl beside her. Her expression changed so much that the sadness before didn't really much appeared. "Hime-chan!!" she came in running like a child.

Hime was absolutely surprised "Huh? This isn't the HIna I remembered..."

Suddenly Hinagiku whispered some words to her "We can't talk right now...Ren is watching us. And sorry"

"Why is she is sorry?" 

"Hey, Hinagiku"Asaka called, clearly irritated that her teammate is making contact with other teams.

Hinagiku pulled back "I didn't know a weakling like you made it this far." she smiled

"Huh!? What?!" Hime was surprised by her words

Misaki and Aichi were the same

Hinagiku turned towards them. "Or was it because of them that you made it here?" she smirked it. 

"W-what are you talking about Hina-"

"Oh we both know what I'm talking about. You're gonna make your team lose, because of your lack of skills."

"Hahaha!" Kyou started laughing, she turned to Asaka " She get's me everytime."

Asaka just smiled  

Tetsu was quite the opposite "That's enough Hinagiku."

Kai stepped forward "Where's Ren, Tetsu?"

Hinagiku snorted "Still looking for him Kai?"

"Tch, I didn't asked you "

"Whatever"

"You know well enough that Ren doesn't waste his time on weaklings. Even you should be able to remember"

"Oh, really? I don't know,I really don't remember much from the past Tetsu." Kai said angrily

Aichi finally spoke up "So Hime and Kai knew some of team Asteriod."

"You have to play in the finals to meet him." Tetsu answered

The white haired boy bragged "Ren is playing on two other teams to, you might as well give up."

"The final match willl be Asteriod vs. Asteriod. It's already predicted." Asaka added

"And your puny team, wouldn't stand a chance." Hinagiku said as she crossed her arms.

"Two!?-" aichi shouted

"Teams?" Misaki continued

"That's not fair!" Hime complained

"Haha, well the strongest gotta stay in the top right?" Hinagiku looked at Kai. "That's what you say right?"

"Tch."

"Anyway, I'll be glad to have a rematch with you. See you on the battle field." then Team asteriod went off.

"Aaaaaaattentiooooooon!" the mc announced "Here are the competitors for the first round!"

Team PQ4 vs. Team Jurassic Army.

"That's us" Misaki warned

Shin put his hand on Aichi's shoulder. "Someday, we'll know Kai and Hime's story-"

This made Aichi glanced on the two. Kai was walking away, while Hime followed with a sad face."

"-but for now, we have to focus on the match."

Aichi nodded with determination. Soon PQ4 was already inside and Aichi stood on the door. Hime and Kai sat beside each other while Shin and Misaki stood on the window glass.

"Vanguard championship! First round, team Jurassic Army vs. Team PQ4 . Sendou Aichi vs. Ryudou Gunji."

"I haven't seen you face before." said the soldier guy  "Is this, perhaps, your first time in the national tournament?"

"Hai." Aichi said, never losing his steady motivation.

"I see. I like your expression. "

"Thanks.."

"However, boy. Motivation alone won't get you to the next round of the national championship."

"Players! To your consoles!"

Both of them moved towards the circular machine.

"I was confused too at the regionals but I hope I'm in the right spot."Gunji placed his feet flawlessly "looks like this isn't his first time on the nationals. But I must not lose...I have to win for Kamui."

The machine turned on, and they placed their starting vanguards and decks. The spectator raised his hand "All right! Begin the match!" They grabbed their first five cards. And-

"Stand up! Vanguard!"

Intense smoke came from both players, Gunji had a white aura while Aichi had blue. And while they're waiting rocks emerged from the floor which made the audience at awe. Aichi was also shocked with what he saw

"Barcgal!"

"Dragon Egg!" 

"The first match has begun, and joining with me is Dr.O!" MC said

"Pleasure to meet you." Dr.O commented "This is my first time seeing PQ4. I wonder what fights they'll give me."

"Draw!" Gunji starts "I ride sonic Noa! Dragon egg moves to he rear guard! I end my engagement!"

"I ride Wingal! Barcgal moves and I call Marron. Wingal and Marron attacks!" 

No trigger on both sides .

"I ride Megarex! And I call. Activate Canongear's skill, dragon egg leave!"

"You sacrificed an ally?!"

"It's the only way, however! Counterblast! I activate it's skill Dragon Egg returns to my hand."

"He's right, that's what a Tachikaze deck should be like!" Izaki beamed

But Morikawa headlocked him "What are you so proud off HUH?!"

Gunij called more allies and attacked. But Aichi didn't even guard once.

"What's he doing!"Morikawa complained "At this rate he'll lose!"

"Watch your tongue grade 3 freak." Ayumi spatted

"haha, nice one" Azami laughed

"Well Aichi must've a plan." Miwa objected 

"I only accepted those damage because-  Stand and draw. Stand up my avatar! I ride Blaster Blade! I activate his skill, Counterblast! I retire canon gear!"

"I see, so your no guards were actually for this point."

"Yes, I didn't defend to activate his skill. Marron fall back, I call Morgana and Gordon."

"Morgana has 6000 power." Misaki remebered

"No rear guards to help " Shin added

"She doesn't have enough power to attack Mega rex." Kai said " However.-"

"But if I remember correctly..." Hime thought

Kamui blurted out his idea. "Reduce his attacking power!"

"Morgana attacks Skyptera."

"Counterblast! I return Skypstera to my hand. My soldiers don't go down that easily." Gunji marked

Aichi didn't wasted anytime He attacked with both Blaster BLade and Gordon, but Aichi only dealt 1 damage.

"Nice move boy. But it's too early to be at ease. Cannon gear may be down but that doesn't change anything. Let's go my strongest soldier!I ride Tyrant Deathrex!"

"Deathrex.... Surely that's a strog unit. But I mus not lose. Winning is my only option. For Kamui, my teammates. I must win no matter what!"
