Chapter 1
~Chapter 1: A Beacon of Talent~
Bullheads are vehicles used to carry personnel among others, in the world of Remnant. Inside, several people from different backgrounds were present, carrying an assortment of weapons tailor-made to its user.
From traditional swords and axes to weapons from the culture of specific kingdoms, each adorned by their colorfully dressed users.
Among them sat Pyrrha Nikos, who sat pristinely in her seat, looking out the window with her baggage close to her feet.
Onlooker #1: *whispers* "Is that Pyrrha Nikos?"
Onlooker #2: *whispers* "The Invincible Girl? No way!"
A sigh left Pyrrha's lips, being used to her recognition as a champion in her hometown of Argus, she had accepted that her reputation had spread throughout Remnant as one of, if not the prominent fighter among her peers.
Yet despite her monocher, she always recalls one person who sees her as anything but her title. A memory that was recalled as soon as her eyes landed in her luggage.
It was during the year before she'd compete in Mistral's fighting tournament. In her home, a young Y/n was thrown to the ground by one of Pyrrha's attacks.
Y/n (young): *groans* "Oww..."
Pyrrha (young): "Oh...sorry!"
Despite the pain and soreness in his body, Y/n begrudgingly pushes himself up before assuming a sluggish version of his fighting stance.
Y/n (young): "Again..."
Pyrrha (young): "Perhaps it's better if we should take a break?"
Y/n (young): "No. I almost got it, I swear"
Pyrrha (young): "Okay...if you say so. Ready?"
Sharing a nod, the two charged at one another. Pyrrha opens with a thrust of her spear, Y/n counters by redirecting the spear with his lead hand before grabbing it by the neck with his non-dominant hand, locking it in place.
This left Pyrrha to block Y/n's counterpunch with her shield, leaving her blind to a kick directly to her oblique, taking her down to her knee.
Y/n then jumped up and kicked her weapons off her hands before placing his hand as close to her chest as possible and unleashing a one-inch punch, causing the wind in her chest to be knocked slightly as she was pushed back a few steps back.
Y/n (young): "Yes!"
Seeing Y/n being preoccupied by his cheer, Pyrrha quickly went down and swept Y/n's legs, knocking him down before summoning her spear and placing the blade close to his neck.
Pyrrha (young): "You forgot. A battle is only won when your opponent is defeated"
Y/n (young): "I don't care. I finally did the move I wanted to do"
Seeing Y/n's giddiness, Pyrrha puts away her weapon and steps back as Y/n sits upright.
Pyrrha (young): "You mean the move you've been practicing all morning? Are you sure that was sufficient?"
Y/n (young): "Trust me, Pyrrha. With enough force behind that bad boy, I could beat my enemies with one strike!"
Y/n pumped his fist with enthusiasm.
Y/n (young): "Who knows, maybe when we meet in the competition I'll do that same move and beat you with it"
Pyrrha (young): "I guess I'll look forward to it"
Pyrrha was pulled out of her train of thought by a hologram.
???: "Hello, and welcome to Beacon!"
The hologram showed a woman with blonde hair wearing an elegant outfit complete with a twin-tailed cape greeting the passengers in the Bullhead.
???: "My name is Glynda Goodwitch. You are among a privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy!"
As the woman, now named Glynda, continued her opening remarks, Pyrrha looked back to her gear, opening the bag slightly to see her weapons in their folded state.
Glynda: "Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world"
Once she had finished her message, the hologram ended, leaving everyone with their own devices. This prompts Pyrrha to look back out the window, seeing Beacon Academy in the distance, signifying its near arrival.
Upon landing inside the walls of Beacon Academy, Pyrrha made her way down along with the rest of the future huntsmen and huntresses, being immediately met with scenic trees, arching architecture, and a winding road alongside a river. Taking in the sight, Pyrrha looked around the scenery in glee, having been lost in the decor of the academy.
???: "Enjoying the view?"
Pyrrha looked ahead, her eyes widening as she was met with Y/n, who stood with the hood of his trench coat obscuring his identity, but enough for Pyrrha to recognize him.
Upon said recognition, Pyrrha ran with excitement and enveloped Y/n in a hug, taking him by surprise.
Pyrrha: "I'm so happy to see you, Y/n. I've missed you"
Y/n: *smirks* "It's only been a few months"
Pyrrha: "Still. I've been restless, waiting for the chance to see you again"
Y/n: "Shall we walk then? I know a good scenic route on the way to the assembly"
Pyrrha: *nods* "Lead the way then"
Slipping away from the crowd, Y/n took Pyrrha's luggage before leading her through Beacon.
Pyrrha: "I can't believe you get to see this throughout your stay"
Y/n: "Yeah, it's nice. But you haven't seen the Forever Fall yet"
Pyrrha: "I see. Thank you again for seeing me and showing me around Beacon"
Y/n: "It's not a problem"
Pyrrha and Y/n stopped in their tracks as a small breeze whisked past them, causing the branches to sway as leaves were picked up from the floor and carried along with the wind.
Y/n: "Pyrrha..."
Pyrrha held her hair down from being blown by the air, pulling back a strand behind her ear before looking over at Y/n as his coat flapped with the wind.
Pyrrha: "Yes, Y/n?"
Silence befell the two, long enough for the wind to settle.
Y/n: "... It's nothing. We should head to the assembly, wouldn't want to be tardy already now"
Pyrrha: "...Yes, we wouldn't want that"
Y/n and Pyrrha continued their walk, finally arriving at the auditorium where Y/n had now handed Pyrrha's bag back to her.
Y/n: "Shall we?"
Holding the door open for Pyrrha, the two entered to see several incoming first-years gathered around the stage of the auditorium as a man in Green accompanied by Glynda walked up to the microphone.
???: "I'll...keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction"
The first-years began to whisper amongst each other, causing murmurs to stir in the crowd.
Y/n: "Always with the over-the-top ambiguity"
Pyrrha: "You close with the Headmaster of Beacon?"
Y/n: "Close isn't the term I'd use"
The man in green now revealed to be the Headmaster of Beacon, Ozpin, continues.
Ozpin: "You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step"
Ozpin then steps away from the mic, allowing Glynda to step in and take over the proceedings.
Glynda: "You will gather in the ballroom tonight; tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed"
Y/n: "Here"
Y/n then hands the bag back to Pyrrha.
Pyrrha: "You won't be coming to the ballroom with me?"
Y/n: "I have some other things to take care of. Meet me when you get settled in, I have something to show you"
Pyrrha: "Alright. Where would we meet?"
Y/n: "You'll know where"
Y/n then exits the auditorium from the entrance, leaving Pyrrha to stand and watch as he disappears behind the doors.
Y/n: "Watch your step now"
The day soon turned to night, Y/n and Pyrrha were now in their nightwear as they began scaling up the auditorium building.
Pyrrha: "Y/n, are you sure we should be up here?"
Y/n: "Oh, Oum no! No one should ever climb up any building in Beacon"
Pyrrha: "Y/n!"
Y/n: "Relax. As long as no one gets hurt, no one has to know. Plus, it'd be worth it, I promise"
After making it to the top of the auditorium first, Y/n lent Pyrrha a hand as she scaled the last few inches until they both stood on leveled ground.
Pyrrha: "Wow~!"
Pyrrha was then witness to a majestic moon in the night sky. A shattered moon, its pieces suspended in space, solidifying a beauty amongst the imperfections.
Y/n: "Do you remember the fairy tale you told to me on a night like this? About how the moon became the way it is today?"
Pyrrha: "It was the story of two gods, brothers"
Pyrrha looked away from the moon and over to Y/n, who had looked away from the moon as well to meet her gaze.
Y/n: "You said the God of Darkness was exiting, crashing through the moon, leading to meteors hitting Remnant and leaving the moon the way it is"
Pyrrha: "So you do listen"
Y/n: "I had no choice, it was that or more sparring"
Pyrrha: *giggles* "Though, I'm happy with how you've turned out to be"
Y/n: "Me too..."
The two shared a comfortable silence as they looked back up at the moon.
Y/n: "...Do you think I can jump from here to the moon in one standing jump?"
Pyrrha broke into a chuckle as Y/n stared at Pyrrha in a deadpan.
Y/n: "I'm being serious"
Pyrrha: "I'm sorry...Maybe when you're stronger"
Y/n: "Is that a bet?"
The two then chuckled relishing in the fond moment before simultaneously letting out a yawn.
Y/n: "I guess it's getting pretty late. You should probably head back. Big day tomorrow"
Pyrrha: "You'll join the initiation too?"
Y/n: "I'll be there. I just won't be participating"
Pyrrha: "What do you mean? Oh!"
Pyrrha was then swept off her feet by Y/n, putting her in a princess carry.
Y/n: "You'll find out what I mean tomorrow. Right now, we need to get you down"
Y/n then leaps off the roof and begins scaling down the building with Pyrrha in his arms.
Pyrrha: "Y/n! I could get down on my own!"
Y/n: "This is faster!"
The sound of Y/n's laughter filled the night as Pyrrha's flushed expression riddled her consciousness as she slumbers, awaiting with rejuvenated spirit for tomorrow's initiation.

Perspectives might be all over the place but I'll try to make it consistent. Just gonna keep trying to make something different and see what could stick, so we'll just say it's a work in progress.
But anyway, how is it so far? Subpar? Meets expectations? Feel free to let me know down in the comments along with possibly doing the usuals.
