Chapter 2

12, Grimmauld Place

Summer, 1995

"MIA!!!!!" A voice shouted. Mia looked straight ahead, and saw a figure rapidly growing bigger. Mia had just come back from a long trip to Northern Canada to see the Northern Lights. They were extremely pretty, and gave Mia some ideas on how to teach her Hogwarts students about them. After she left Canada, she flew to Mauna Kea, Hawaii to stargaze and gather more teaching material. Once her trips were over, she returned to London and was sent a Patronus to tell her to meet Mad Eye Moody at a nearby muggle park, where he told her the location of the meeting place of the Order of the Phoenix, a group of people gathered by Albus Dumbledore to try and convince people that Lord Voldemort was back, and to find out what he was up to. Since her family was in it, and they were staying there, Mia gladly accepted being part of Dumbledore's group. It was now August 6, and she was inside Grimmauld Place for the first time.

First impressions: Not impressed. Mia noticed the peeling wallpaper, dark atmosphere, and old timey portraits. The floorboards creaked, and Mia had the feeling that she had to be quiet. Apparently that wasn't true, as her younger sister was currently running full speed toward Mia.

"Gin!" Mia exclaimed, as Ginny hugged her older sister. When they let go, Ginny took Mia's hand and pulled her forward. Mia saw Ginny tiptoe as they passed a ratty curtain, which must have been concealing something, as it didn't seem as there were any windows in this dreary house.

After they passed the curtains, Ginny stopped tiptoeing and pulled Mia into a big open area. "Gin, what?" Mia asked, confused.

"Thats the picture of Sirius's mother." Ginny replied sourly. "She'll start screaming if you wake her up."

Mia nodded. Her parents had sent her a letter, telling her about Grimmauld Place. Sirius Black's family had lived there when he was a boy. Until recently, about June of that year, Mia (and the rest of the Weasleys except Ron) had believed that Sirius Black was a mass murderer who had escaped Askaban prison. He did really escape Askaban, but he was framed, as he later explained to them.

Suddenly, Mrs. Weasley walked out of the shadows, and smiled when she saw Mia. "Mia! You're here already!" She said as she rushed forward to hug her.

"Yup, I'm here mom." Mia said. "So whats the scoop?"

Mrs. Weasley looked to Ginny, who rolled her eyes. "Yes, Mom, I know. I have to go upstairs." Ginny said grumpily, as she stomped up the stairs. Once Ginny was gone, Mrs. Weasley walked towards the dining room door. She opened it, and Mia saw Sirius Black and her father sitting at the table with Albus Dumbledore, discussing some plans.

"Mia!" Mr. Weasley said when he saw her enter. "Come, sit!"

She smiled at her father, then looked to Dumbledore. "Hello Professor!" Mia said, almost forgetting that he wasn't her professor, more like a colleague.

Dumbledore smiled. "Hello Mia, but remember, I am not your professor anymore."

"Oh right, sorry."

She turned to Sirius. "Hi Sirius." She said. "So your house is the base?"

"Hi Mia." Sirius replied, tucking a scroll of paper away. "Yeah, it is. I own the place, and we needed a house for the Order. So I decided to do something helpful."

Mrs. Weasley sat next to Mia. "Have the rest of the Order gone to get Harry?"

This news took Mia by surprise. Harry? From his aunt and uncle's house? He was coming here?

"They just left." Sirius replied. "We were just going over the plans about Voldemort's weapon." Beside her, Mrs. Weasley flinched. Mia didn't really care, it was just a name. It wasn't like if you said his name, his followers would find you and kidnap.

Dumbledore looked at the big clock on the wall across. "I should be going now, I'll see all of you later. Goodbye." With that, Dumbledore apparated back to outside Hogwarts.

Sirius stood up. "Well, I have to go feed Buckbeak." He said, then walked out of the room.

"Mia, dear, go find Ginny, she'll be happy to show you your room," Mrs. Weasley advised. Mia nodded, and tucked in her chair, then also walked out of the room. Ginny was waiting outside the door, leaning against the wall.

"FINALLY!" Ginny said. "I thought you would never come out. Me and Hermione are so happy you're here, Ron, Fred and George are being so annoying."

"Mom said that I have my own room?" Mia asked, hoping Ginny wouldn't recount every single thing the twins and Ron had done to her.

"Oh yeah, its pretty big, you're lucky. Hermione and I share a room, Ron will share with Harry when he gets here, and the twins have a room, obviously." Ginny explained, as she lead Mia up the stairs.

Mia looked around the stairs, taking in the elf heads sitting on the walls. "Are those-?" Mia started, and Ginny replied, "Apparently Sirius's ancestors had a thing for house elf heads."

Ginny turned on a landing, and continued up the stairs. Mia took in all the sights of this creepy old house. "Gin, is that an old sandwich crust??" Mia said, disgusted, as she saw a the crust of a ham sandwich laying in a crevice of one of the steps.

Ginny chuckled. "Blame Kreacher, he stole George's leftover sandwich."

"Who's Kreacher?" Mia asked as Ginny ran through the hallway, Mia barely keeping up. "He's the Black family house elf, he's stupid. Never cleaning, always muttering. Oh, and he hates Weasleys." Ginny stopped in front of a door that was probably so old, there was barely any paint left on it. "Here's your room, its huge, trust me."

Ginny opened the ancient door, and Mia's mouth dropped open.

She turned to Ginny. "You didn't mention it was big and messy!"

Ginny shrugged. "Messy is a bit of an understatement. It looked like Fred and George opened a stampede of mountain giants on this room."

Mia scrunched up her nose. "Um, I guess I can make this work. But even as a professor, I'm pretty sure the cleaning charm is too weak to fix this."

Mia walked into the huge room, blinking in disbelief.

---------------------------------------

Mia finished tidying up her room, and placed the last fluffy pale yellow pillow on her bed. She looked around her room, satisfied, and wiped her hands with a wipe. She threw it in the garbage, and walked out. She heard shouting. It sounded like......Harry?

She walked towards the door where Harry was shouting, and hesitated before knocking to say hi. Ginny walked up to Mia while she was knocking, and her eyes widened. But then she smirked and stood beside Mia.

"Come in!" Came a grumbling voice. Mia opened the door, and Ginny ran forward. "Oh, it's you." Harry said sourly. Mia raised her eyebrow. "It's nice to see you too, Harry."

Ron and Hermione looked scared, they were sitting on Ron's bed, looking fearfully at Harry. "Hi Mia.' Ron and Hermione said simultaneously.

Mia sighed. "Hi Harry!" Ginny said cheerfully.

She felt bad for Ron and Hermione, they looked so...tiny? Small. Scared.

"Harry, what did you do to my brother and Hermione?" Mia asked, annoyed. Mia was very protective of her siblings, she did not like seeing them hurt. And Hermione felt like a sister to her, and was sure Hermione felt the same.

Harry blinked. "Er- nothing." Harry murmured. Mia breathed out. Ginny stood forward. Mia thought she saw Ginny grin.

"Really?" Mia said. There was a big crack that filled the room, and everyone turned to that side of the room. The twins smiled. "You might want to keep your voice down Harry, we could hear you from the other side of the house." Fred or George said. They faced Mia.

"Hey Mia, good to see you're still the same." George (Mia was quite sure it was him) said.

"I see that you're using your Apparating skills nicely." Mia observed.

Fred nodded. "We plan to use them all the time. Now Mia, continue."

"Nah, I'd rather not." Mia said, turning around to face the door. "But I'm pretty sure that the door is eavesdrop resistant, Red F, Red G."

Fred and George rolled their eyes at Mia's kiddish nickname for them. Mia walked out the door, as the twins followed. Ginny stayed behind, wanting to talk to Harry.

"Y'know, Mia, we're not five anymore." Fred complained. "You don't have to call me Red F."

Mia laughed. "No, you'll always be five in my eyes."

George smirked. "We're adults now."

"Sure you are." Mia said, walking away from the twins. "Also, you might want to watch it next time you go into your room."

Fred and George watched their eldest sister walk away, before saying to themselves, "We'll get her next time."
