Hanjin's pov

I close my eyes for a brief second only to hear my alarm go off. Great. I sit up on my bed in the dark room. I've been working for hours on end and only when I want to sleep that's when my alarm comes. I stretch my arms grabbing my glasses from my nightstand. I pick up my phone checking the time, 5:05. I can push some rest for my body until 15... Good idea. Hesitation doesn't come my way when I lay in bed letting my whole body sink into the heated mattress removing my glasses. Even though I didn't sleep at least I know that I finished everything I needed to do, strategic planning for Taeyong's case, doses and questions that I have filled out for him and even a journal I bought yesterday night.

Hm, I chuckle lightly. There I was, telling Taeyong how I'm going to sleep and still get paid, little does he know I barely get sleep or leave the work place early. If I have to estimate: I'm at home for a great deal of 4 hours then I'm at work again from 6 am up till 16:00 in the afternoon. But still I stay overtime and continue to work until midnight then I head home. It's even worse at home, because I don't go to sleep but I go to carry on my reports and findings.

"Why do I work so hard?" I groan getting out of bed looking at the clock. 5:07. I can't even stay for more than 2minutes without feeling anxious.

Getting to work, I park my car inside the building making my way to the back entrance. Upon my arrival, I fix my glasses pulling down my red pencil skirt making sure that I look smart. My white heels make a clucking sound of authority when entering the facility. The power walk paired with my long dark wavey hair creates a boost of confidence in me and people passing by, patients or doctors see it- immediately greeting me. For as long as I've been on this medical field I know that I'm the only doctor to wear such long and daring heels to both signal my arrival and notify others my status that I'm not one to mess with.

I internally sigh spotting a built tall figure with his white coat draped over his arm as it is every morning. Why does he have to be the first person I see this morning? Luckily when I stand next to him I'm not short but almost at his height. He begins to stare at me having that cheap plastered smile over his lips. Please don't speak, please don't-

"Good morning," I hear his cocky playful voice chirp happily. He just had to greet didn't he. Why doesn't he understand that I don't like talking to him. I keep my lips tight from opening staring above to the number panel showing the speed of the elevator, which is pretty slow. "Oh come on, are you gonna be petty forever?"

I look at him slightly but am hooked to his styled hair, perfect rows of teeth forming that evidently charming smile and mischievous look in his eyes. How he manages to look so good but be so arrogant is beyond my understanding, nonetheless I shrug my shoulders turning away. "It depends. Are you gonna be alive forever?"

"Oh, I see," he chuckles stepping back jokingly. "Come on Hanjin, 10 minutes to 6 and you're still so frosty with me. Okay, you look striking as usual. Red and white definitely brings out you're fierceness."

Refraining from answering I pull out my phone from my handbag since he thankfully converses with the people also waiting for the elevator. He's right, there's still a couple of minutes to 6 o'clock. I hope Taeyong slept well last night. Jaehyun's hand suddenly springs forward across my vision. He stops anyone from entering the elevator motioning with his hand towards the open door. "My lady first,"

I roll my eyes entering. Unconsciously I stand next to him when more men enter the elevator.

"Ah, Doctor Hanjin," one doctor speaks in a soft youthful voice. I think his post is somewhere in the lab room. He analyses blood samples and finds the perfect medicine to match with the blood type. I've been going to get medicine for my patients from him but I never stick with his name. "I was wondering why Doctor Jung refused for us to go in."

In a place of responding I simply turn back to my phone going through my day's task.

"Don't mind her Ten out of ten." Jaehyun involves himself. "She's not a morning person."

I don't involve myself further in their talk waiting to go to the second floor. I exit the elevator ignoring the biddings from Jaehyun. I enter the second floor signing myself in before heading to my office.

Do Kyungso is one of the guide's assigned to Ward E for night shift. He walked up and down the halls along with some other guide's attending to Patients that need help. Seeing him early in the morning always meant something was not right.

"I hope no one died." I start with worry entering my office placing my bag down. I pick up my white coat hearing him knock on my open door. "Good morning Kyungso. How can I help you?"

"Morning Doctor Hanjin." I notice he's still in his shift pale blue nurse uniform- if he didn't yet change to go home that means he was probably waiting for me to arrive.

"I have news for you, the first is that patient 1, Jieun demanded to speak to you. Yuqi in Ward XE has accidentally stabbed her leg and Irene tried to escape last night again." He reads from his phone.

My eyes enlarge all those are my other patients except for Jieun. "I'll deal with Jieun later but how is Yuqi? And how the hell did Irene manage to get out her cell again. You know what, I'll handle that later on, thank you." I say sincerely. There's no one in this entire building that scared me, but Do Kyungso was the few to actually make me more cautious.

"Yuqi is well but now has a huge cast over her leg, she'll be able to walk, the wound wasn't as deep. Another thing, are you assigned to Lee Taeyong in Ward E room number 13?" He asks.

After securing my bag under my desk, I put on my coat and pick up my documented file on Taeyong as well as note book heading out my office with him following next to me.

"Yes I am and I need to get to him now." I state seeing that it's 5 minutes left until 6. "Did something happen?"

"Not necessarily, I need information to fill in the blanks of who his doctor is, so on so forth. In answering your question, I'll go with, he's okay only that he did not sleep the entire night." Kyungso states.

I frown turning to him as we enter the elevator together. I press the Ward floor going to the second floor of Ward E. "No sleep? Was he screaming or-"

"None of that madness jumbo." Kyungso shakes his hand. "He refused to sleep, refused for sleeping pills and stated that he only wanted to speak to you."

My eyes widen. That talk really must've gotten to him. I turn to Kyungso when the elevator starts moving urging him to continue.

"As protocol we weren't allowed to give him anything without his doctor's approval, in other words your approval." He continues.

I nod my head understanding. "Well next time be sure to report to me, I work overtime and I'm most likely in my office until late."

"I was hoping to hear that." His lip tugs upwards and he brings something out of his pocket. He hands me the key pass to Taeyong's room. I exit the elevator just as he goes back downstairs. If my clucking heels did not wake up some of the patients still asleep then the sound of Doctor Chen's booming loud voice does.

"Rise and shine everybody!" He speaks chuckling to himself. "Doctor Hanjin," he acknowledges with a brief smile making his way to one of the other patients cell, another new patient, I think his patient is called Lay. He was clinically diagnosed with Pyromania. It must've gotten worse.

I continue to cluck my way through the hall until I reach Taeyong's cage cell but another voice catches my attention.

"Doctor!"

My foot stands still and I glance to the opposite cell across from Taeyong. Jieun, patient number 1. I've never had her case but last time I spoke to her, she knew Taeyong. Kyungso did mention that she wants to speak to me. She gulps down her saliva looking at me then at the cage.

"Yes my dear." I walk over to her cell. I try to look at her information board but it's completely empty. Who is her doctor?

"T-T-Taeyong." She gulps. "Is he really there?" She asks, yet again. How does she know Taeyong is my only question but before I can ask it she hastily turns away when a sharp voice barks.

"I don't care if you're getting paid or not. I just want you to get me out of here."
