"You want me to meet you there?" Claire asked as she walked Leah to her car. Claire had just arrived to shoot her scenes but would be done soon.
It was now 1pm and Leah had just finished up her scenes with Mateo before she would make her way over to the hospital to see Donna.
"No, babe. Thank you but I'll be fine," she responded, clicking her keys and unlocking her car.
"I just don't want you to be alone if he shows up. Please let someone go with you," Claire pleaded, standing between Leah and the door. She was afraid that Jonah would try something now that he knew when she would be.
"I'll be fine, Claire. I'll be in a public place and he knows not to come near me. I have a restraining order," she sighed, looking at Claire with pleading eyes so she would relax and let her go.
She still wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone since Kacey went to stay with Jonah. She's been there for a couple of days now and Jonah hasn't allowed her to communicate with her.
"Okay, call me when you're home then," Claire smiled, pulling her in for a hug and letting her leave.
She got into her car and drove in silence. Not even music could brighten her mood. Kacey was staying with Jonah and being around William was awkward which put her in an even worst place.

"Leah," Donna sounded in a weak voice as Leah entered the room.
"You're awake," she whispered, "How are you feeling?" She said softly, placing her bag down and pulling a chair up beside her.
"I've been better," she chuckled, taking Leah's hand, searching her tired and worried eyes. "I've spoken to him."
Leah ducked her head and focused her eyes into her lap. She knew that even if his mother spoke to him she wouldn't be able to get through to him.
"What did he say?"
"He said the only way you can see Kacey is if you meet him there-"
"I'm not doing that," Leah interrupted.
"I know, Leah. I wouldn't want you to," she calmly spoke, patting Leah's hand.
"Have you seen her?" Leah asked.
"I've spoken to her but he won't bring her here. I guess he doesn't want her to accidentally see you. That son of mine," she whispered, shaking her head as a tear feel from her eye. "Where did I go wrong?" she asked herself.
"This is not your fault," Leah said, using both my hands to hold hers. "Like you said, he watched his father and instead of taking it as a lesson he used it as a guide,"
"If only I was brave enough to leave the way you did, he wouldn't turn out this way," she cried. The last thing Leah thought of herself as was brave.
"We weren't under the same circumstances. You had no job and a small child you had to think about. You have to stop blaming yourself," she pleaded as her voice broke along with Donna's, tears also falling from her face.
"I want you to take custody," she looked up into Leah's eyes and whispered. She was shocked and confused at the request.
"What?"
"I don't know how much time I have and the last thing I want is Kacey to get hurt. She loves you. You should have full custody,"
"Don't speak like that," Leah sniffled.
"Leah, you heard the doctors. If something happens to me, she should be with you,"
"But how?" She asked, wiping her tears.
"We will go down to the family court and I will transfer my rights solely to you. You can decide how all other arrangements, when it pertains to his visits, are made but she'll stay with you," she said, almost out of breath as she proceeded to cough.
Leah stood up and grabbed the glass of water before handing it to her and helping her take a few sips.
"Leah, please," she gasped.
"Of course, I will," she smiled softly.
"God forbid, anything happens, I'll make sure she's safe," she sniffled, as Donna pulled her in for a hug.
~
"I wasn't expecting anyone," Leah spoke into her phone when she heard a knock on her door.
"Check before you open the door," her mother suggested.
"Uh huh," she mumbled as swiped off the FaceTime call and checked her ring app, seeing that it was Will standing at her front door.
She chuckled slightly, shaking her head as she approached the door and opened it to Will with a beaming smile on his face.
"Maleah," he smiled.
"William," she mugged, slightly amused.
"Hello, Will baby," he mother called through the phone and his face lit up even more as he took the phone from Leah's hand and proceeded to enter her house.
She simply rolled her eyes and shut the door behind him. She knew her mother loved Will and he loved her too. They had never met in person but he was always taking over her calls with her.
"Yes Mama. I'll have to come soon," he chuckled, placing the bag of food on the counter and sitting on the stool in front of the island.
Leah walked over and leaned onto the counter, watching them laugh and talk.
"Alright, baby. I'll see you," her mother ended as Will handed the phone over to Leah.
"Alright Ma-"
She paused at the sound if the phone call ended and mugged her screen.
"She loves me," he chuckled, arching his eyebrows and shrugging his shoulders.
"What are you doing here?" She laughed, peeking into the bag of food. It had been a while since he's been over there or since they'd had a real conversation.
"I brought you some dinner," he smiled. "I know you don't eat when you're stressed and I just th-"
"Will," she sounded firmly to get his attention, searching his eyes as he turned to her. She knew that he wasn't here for that and she didn't want him to go around her question.
He took a deep breath and twirled his fingers around the loose piece of the plastic bag the food was held in in the counter.
"I know you said you didn't want anything to happen right now but I don't want things to be weird between us," he admitted, ending his statement with a gaze into her eyes.
"Me neither," she shyly admitting, breaking eye contact and biting the inside of her cheek. She loved Will before anything ever started and she didn't believe that it was fair to them to make things weird.
He has been there for her through it all and she just wants their relationship to stay strong even if it remains platonic.
"Okay, cool," he smiled. "No more weirdness," he chuckled, waving his arms around and pretending to clear the air. Leah laughed and shook her head.
"Okay, you eat and I'll get going," he said, sliding the bag closer to her and getting up from the stool.
"Where are you going?" She asked softly as she took the food out of the bag, keeping her eyes on him.
"I was just going to go home and chill," he mumbled, scratching the back of his head and holding his breath as he watched her move around the kitchen. He wanted to respect her wishes but he couldn't help himself whenever he was around her.
"You gonna make me eat all of this by myself?" She said, furrowing her eyebrows and placing two plates down on the counter and staring at him waiting for his response.
"I guess I can eat," he chuckled, sitting back on the stool.
"I GuEsS I cAn Eat," she mocked. "I hate when you say that," she laughed as she used a fork to share some food into the plates.
"Why must you always clown me?" he chuckled, watching her again. She shrugged her shoulders and hummed as she rinsed off some forks for them to use.
He laughed and watched as she walked around the island sitting in the stool next to him, setting the plates before them and smiling up at him.
"Why is it always cold as shit in here?" he mugged, making her smile turn into a mug before she started laughing. "Don't you got iron deficiency or something? You don't feel that?"
"Unlike you, I have clothes on," she laughed, nudging him.
"Yeah, you're in hot ass LA with sweats on. So you know it's cold in here," he laughed, shaking his head.
The two laughed and talked as they enjoyed dinner. They felt at peace knowing that they could enjoy each other's company without it being weird.
