Day One
"That's a wrap, y'all!" The director screamed as everyone cheered.
We had just finished filming the first episode of the new season of our TV show, where I played the lead actress. I was so excited because last season did so well. This was my first TV show and it was nominated for 12 awards last year. My dreams were finally coming true, although I haven't won my Oscar yet.
I have worked so hard to be in the place that I am now. I moved all the way from London to Los Angeles to pursue my dream as an actress.
I went home for the first time in a year, this summer, to see my family. They also got to meet my boyfriend of two years, after only hearing me blab about him all day.
Jonah and I met when I first moved here and have been inseparable ever since. We met three years ago and stayed friends for a year while I situated my career.
He's helped me a lot and we work so well as a team. He also has the most amazing daughter and I love her like she's my own. Her mother doesn't want anything to do with her, so I've helped him raise her since she was 3. I took her to her first day of kindergarten this morning. I cried like a baby because she is my baby.
Her dad couldn't make it because he was having some trouble at work. He was also an actor and was directing his own TV show. I still don't know what is bothering him but he says he's stressed and has too much on his plate. I try to do everything I can to make it easier for him, but I also have my career to think about. I'm trying to win an Oscar, baby!
"Hey, babe," Claire shouted, greeting me on our first day of filming the new season. Claire is my best friend and also plays my best friend in our show.
"Hey, Claire. I'm so drained, but I know in the end it'll all be worth it," I explained, hugging my best friend. We were starting a new season, a new chapter. This would bring new opportunities and new people to call family.
"You want to get some drinks with the boys and me?" she asked, in her persuasive voice. She had a way of convincing me to do anything. We also worked with William, Mateo, and Zeke. They are the best and funniest guys to be around. I just love my castmates.
"Sure, just let me ask Ms. Donna if she wants to keep Kacey and little longer," I replied. Ms.Dona is Jonah's mom. She is a very nice lady but the air was always tense when she is around me. She picked Kacey up from kindergarten today so that Jonah and I didn't have to worry about who would leave work.
"Ok, I'm going to ask Marley if she wants to join us." Marley was also a part of the cast. She, Hannah, and I were like sisters since all my family was back in London. They have really made it feel like home because we women have to stick together. Marley is the most beautiful being ever. I am so jealous of how gorgeous she is and don't get me started on that body.
I love my girls.
Hey, Ms. Donna. Do you mind keeping Kacey a little longer tonight? They're having a little celebration.
Not at all, baby. I'll get washed her up and fed and she'll be ready for bed by the time you get here.
Thank you😘
"I'm ready, y'all. Let's go!" I was the designated driver, as always. I never got too drunk because I don't like the feeling. I also have Kacey to go home to.
We went to dinner and got a few drinks. We spent the night celebrating and afterward, I took the girls home while the guys got Ubers. I was just in time to get Kacey before it was time to get her to bed.

POV CHANGE THIRD PERSON
"Cmon, Kacey Bear. You're getting so heavy," Leah said, as she carried Kacey from the car to their Condo. She unlocked the door and was surprised to see Jonah leaning against the island, next to a half-drunken bottle of Whiskey.
"Hey, babe. I didn't expect you to be home until later," Leah said, as she was struggled to get the door closed with Kacey fast asleep in her arms.
"Yeah, and I didn't expect you guys to be out so late," he said in an irritated tone. He took another sip of the whiskey and watched as Leah headed to Kacey's room and put her to bed.
She walked back into their living room and tried to ignore his comment. Taking off her jacket, she went into their half bathroom to wash her hands.
Jonah walked over to the couch and sat on the arm of the chair.
"Come here, "he said in a low tone. His eyes followed Leah as she popped her head from out of the fridge and walked over to him.
"Sorry, baby, I forgot to give you your kiss." She kissed him and sat behind him on the arm of the sofa, wrapping her arms around his torso and hugging him tightly. "What's wrong? You seem upset," she added, placing her chin on his shoulder.
"Where have you been?" he said, continuing his low tone.
"We wrapped up the first episode today and then we went out to dinner. I asked your mom to watch K Bear a little while longer and she said she was fine with it." She place her hand on his cheek and turned his face towards her. "If I had known you'd be home so early, I would have come home to celebrate with you. You know that." She placed another kiss on his cheek.
"Who did you go with," he said, turning his head away from her and taking another sip from his glass.
"Who else would go?" she asked rhetorically. "You know...Claire, Marley, and the guys." She rolled her eyes playfully and chuckled.
"What guys? Like that guy...What's his name-Mateo?" He got up from the sofa and faced her.
"Yeah, he's one of the guys. We've hung out with him so many times. What's the deal?" She was so confused, as she saw Jonah's anger rise.
"Did you do your little kissing scene yet?" He squinted his eyes at her, taking yet another sip. Mateo was her love interest in the show. Their characters use to play enemies but things change in the new season.
"What the fuck Jonah, seriously?" she scoffed. "That's what you're tripping about. I already told you it wouldn't happen until the third episode." She also stood up. "We discussed this and you said you didn't have a problem with it. You know what this job entails." She was now furious.
"Yeah we've hung out a couple of times but I see the way he looks at you and you like that shit," he chuckled, in anger.
"I'm not doing this with you. I've had an amazing day and I won't let your little tantrum ruin it. And please don't wake my baby up." She turned to walk in the direction of their bedroom but stopped when she felt his grip around her wrist.
"Let go of me. I'm not playing," she said, in a loud whisper. She took deep breaths, trying to keep her voice down so she didn't wake up Kacey.
"I'm not done talking to you." He pulled her towards him by her wrist and grabbed onto her arms.
"Jo, what the fuck are you doing. Get off!" she screamed, not caring who heard.
"Once you get all big and famous, you'll forget about me. Forget about this family." He was now shaking her and she could feel his grip tightening with every shake.
"Jo, you're hurting me. Let go!" She tried to break free from his grip but she couldn't. He was stronger than she was.
"D-daddy?" Kacey stood at the archway of the hallway that led to the bedrooms with a teddy bear in one hand and her other hand rubbing her eyes. "Lele, make daddy stop," she cried.
Jonah released Leah when he saw Kacey's face as the tears started to flow.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mea- You're a bastard when you're drunk!"
She ran over to Kacey and picked her up, taking her to her bedroom, where she locked the door behind her.
Once she finally got Kacey to calm down and sleep, she sat behind the bed, with her hand over her mouth as cries muffled through. She knew Jonah could be a little loose when he was drunk but he had never put his hands on her. She was confused and angry.
