On the plane to Congo, Africa, Damon, Bonnie, Liv didn't speak much. Jo and Kai layed unconscious taken out by the magic Liv and Bonnie used on them.

All three of them wanted to get there as soon as it was possible, so they could do the ritual. 

Flashback

As Jo walked into the Lockwood mansion, she called out for Kai.

"I don't want to see you, bitch! Should have killed you back then."- Kai shot at her.

"You and I were duped since we were kids. "- Jo said.

"What are you talking about?"- Kai now looked at her intrigued.

Jo then told him what she had found out- the real truth of the hybrid gene they carried and what the merge would actually make them, namely into two very  powerful witches. Kai didn't believe her, till Jo threw the old Grimoire, which stated the true nature of it.

"Yes!"- Liv came in the Lockwood mansion and confirmed it to them.

"You knew?!"- Jo looked at her sister amazed at her cool reaction.

Liv confirmed.

"And I can't allow this to happen!"- Liv said and before Jo and Kai could do anything, Liv murmurred words of a spell that was done by Sheila and Eveline when they last met.  It sealed the room where Jo and Kai were in now. Not long afer, Bonnie appeared.

"I am sorry-"Liv said- "but there is no other way."

Jo tried to talk her out of it. Bonnie and Liv now joined their magic and the two twins fell on the floor, unconscious.

They got them into the car and drove them to a small airport Damon had organized to be transferred to.

"It's handy to make good with a vampire!"- Liv said to Bonnie.

Bonnie didn't make a comment just gave her a  look to mind her own business and stop with snarky remarks.

"I know- you and Damon are the real thing."' Liv said to hush things down.

"I just want to get this over and done with"- Bonnie said- "get your brother out of my life and then finally start with MY life."

"Same here"- Liv said. And the two witches drove off to the meeting point.

As the andrenalin subsided Bonnie nestled her head on Damon's shoulder and at one point fell asleep.

He smiled a little taking hold of her hand. Liv just stared at her brother and sister. What she was about to do was something she would have to carry to the rest of her life. Namely, completely stripping Kai and Jo of all the memory of who they were.

"The price is high"- Liv remembered reading her grandmother's diary-"but so it is in the world of magic. They lived a perfectly normal lives. My grandparents."

Stefan was revisiting  all that had happened in the last year. There were several major turning points in his life, and this one seemed to be another major one.

His phone went and he answered-

"Caroline?!"

"I finally got through to Elena and she tells me Elijah decompelled her and then she saw the light and decided to take time off and go to New York or maybe travelling!! Bonnie doesn't answer at all. What the hell?"

Stefan now gave her an update as to where Bonnie and Damon went. She wasn't pleased.

"Meet you at the bar?!"-Stefan suggested.

She agreed.

As they were about to land Bonnie and Liv went through the spells. Damon listened to them and he was amazed at how long and how thoroughly Liv worked at to one day be ready to stop the merging ever be done, as well as stopping the Gemini  witches with a hybrid gene join their magic together.

Damon had to admit that had underestimated Liv.

"You don't know what it was like that night when Kai went crazy and Luke and I had to hide under the bed to escape from him. When I grew up, I said that nothing and noone will do it to me or Luke ever again. Then I started learning about the Gemini history. It was an ugly and scary history. So, Luke and I swore we will do everything in our power to stop it. We wanted to live a life without fear."-Liv said.

Both Damon and Bonnie understood how she felt. They spent time with Kai.

They all prepared for landing.

Liv had thought of every little detail through and as they landed a fellow witch met them at the a field airport and helped them with Kai and Jo.

They drove to the village where they would do the ritual of stripping the twins off of the magic they possessed and all the knowledge about it.

It was only a day away from the solar eclipse.

Jetta, the witch showed Bonnie and Damon where they could stay for the night.

"Finally alone"-Damon said.

"I can't believe where we are?!"-Bonnie layed down on the bed.

Damon layed down next to her. Bonnie continued-"days ago I was in an AU Mystc Falls, now I am in Africa! I will probably wake up and be in the Boarding house. It would be quiet. Then I would run a bath. After an hour in the bath I would go down to the kitchen, put one of the tapes on and make pancakes..."

Damon now interrupted her by placing a kiss on her lips. Her staying on in the Boarding house and continuing with their daily routine spoke volumes.

As he moved from the kiss, he looked at her as if she was not real.

"Damon."-she brushed with her fingers over his cheek-"what is it?"

"All you said-I had that...but reverse...when I got back, I could not see pancakes and yet I was in that diner every morning. And then I would think of all we talked about. I would go shopping for stuff... and I would leave them at the diner. "-he said-"I thought I knew what was in my heart...but it proved me wrong."

Bonnie nestled up to him.

"I do't want to spoil this moment and be so very basic about things, but I am really hungry!!"-she said.

Damon smiled.

Soon, he had something whipped up for her. He took out the blood bags he had prepared for the trip.
They went out of the house and sat down in a garden.
"I know your witchy resolve on this whole Kai-Jo thing, but I also know that something is bugging you?!"-Damon said.

"Caroline...Elena!"Bonnie then said-"and what you told me about her leaving Withmore, and doing her own thing."
"You didn't get to talk to them?!"-Damon remarked.
"When I got back...the day we spent together was so andrenalin packed and we swore to always be there for one another and there was this moment inside of me that knew that we were also kinda saying goodbye to one another..."-Bonnie looked at him now with teary eyes.

"Yeah..."-Damon said.

She then neared him and he embraced her. They both looked up to the moon.
"The moon is the brightest before the eclipse!"-she uttered.
He tightened his embrace slightly.

In Jette's house Liv spoke to Luke.

"Everything is ready. This is it."-she said to him.
"I never thought we would see the day."-Luke said.
"Well, it's here. And we will be free. And so will they."
They talked some more and as she hung up she went to rest.

Flashback

"All our magic will pass onto you!"-Liv said to Bonnie as set off for the airport a day before.

"You think it would consume me?!"-Bonnie said.
"Well, if the Grimoire is right, it shouldn't. You are the last of your bloodline."
"I don't care if it does, and if this is the real end then I am ok with it. Kai has to be stopped. And maybe I get to finally make things right. My family has disturbed the balance quite a bit."-Bonnie stated.

The next day as Bonnie prepared herself mentally for the ritual, Damon waited patiently outside the house.
When she was done she came to him smiling a bit.

"You have that  very ready look!"- Damon said.

" I am."

"Right then... let's unmagic bad witches!"- Damon said and walked to the jeep.

You can't come with me"-she said to him.

"What? Why?" ."-he said annoyed.

"It's a witch thing!"- Bonnie said.

She looked him in the eyes and they shone in the same loving sparkle as she saved him from Kai and jumped started her magic back then in AU Mystic Falls. She kissed him. And then went before he would say anything.
