Chapter 44
(44) Chorda had a splitting headache, at his age he should have known better. This is what you get being a hero, what was he thinking? It was that damn fox woman! She cast some kind of spell on him, he was bewitched.
Now here he was traveling to who knows where? With a bag over his head. Chorda had no idea about his surroundings. All he knew was that it was dark and damp. This whole gwaaking planet was dark and damp. How could they treat me, Counsellor Chorda in such a manner? I have been the advisor of several kings in Kaasaam. Who does this Sovereign think he is? The captive ruffled his feathers out of his building anger.
The response was a sharp stabbing pain in his side where he was struck repeatedly. "One gwaak out you birdie and I'll pluck your feathers one by one!!!"
Chorda was smart enough not to tempt any further violence from the mindless brute.
After a few more days travel they arrived at their destination. He was unceremoniously dumped into a cell, where he remained for weeks waiting to be summoned. Chorda already was concocting a plan, he needed to prove himself useful to this Sovereign. He needed to gauge what ambitions the man had, and how best to exploit them.
The fateful day finally came and Chorda was rudely dragged from his cell. Chorda is rarely shocked, but seeing who the Sovereign was chilled him to his bones. All he could muster was, "you?!"
"Surprised Chorda? Do you still consider me a helpless little girl? You are only alive at my mercy and to witness my transformation" She drank deeply out of a bone vial, her body began to shake uncontrollably. Her skin becoming black as obsidian, legs sprouting from her shoulder blades and back. She charged at Chorda ,she then struck quickly and often, the last thing Chorda envisioned was the world disappearing behind the gossamer strands which became his tomb.
