Present Time...

Billy

I blinked and groaned in frustration when I woke up the next day. This stupid hangover made me insane... again. I thought I will get used to it. But, I thought wrong.

I always slept with no shirt on so it didn't bothered me at all.  I turned to my right to glance at my wall clock to check the time but all I saw was a person whose back was turned to me. Still disoriented, I thought I was still in a dream so I hugged the person beside me.

Her smell was so intoxicating that I had to stop myself from doing what I do not want to do. I love Sarah. And I totally respect her.

A phone call interrupted my daydream and I saw Sarah's name on screen. I blinked in confusion and turned to face the person beside me who was sound asleep.

The woman beside me has long brown curls while the woman I love has black. Her skin shone as her bare shoulder was revealed beneath the blanket.

Wait...

Is Sarah here already?

I thought she'll be home by tomorrow?

And how come she's sleeping beside me?

I heard another call from her and this time, I picked it up. I half- sat up and rested my back on the headboard before I answered.

"Hey, Love!" Came Sarah's cheerful voice from over the phone. "I missed you!"

"H-hey, Love!" I said trying to match her enthusiasm. "I missed you too! H-how are you?"

The woman beside me grunted and turned to lie on her back. Her right leg happened to rest on top of my left thigh almost close to my crotch.

I winced inwardly and tried my hardest to suppress my frustration. Sarah might have sensed it because she asked, "okay ka lang ba dyan, Love? You sounded helpless."

Indeed. It was torturous.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine." I answered and took a deep breath. "Nilamig lang. Malayo kasi yung remote ng AC ko."

Knowing Sarah, alam nyang lamigin ako despite having the knack for travelling to cold places. Ayaw ko lang sa sobrang lamig na lugar na tipong wala akong kontrol kung paano hihinaan ito.

"Hala siya! Tinamaan ka na naman ng katams, no!" Sarah chuckled while I began to smile. If there is one thing I love about her is that she makes situation easy for the both of us. "O siya, siya. Mag-tour na daw kami nila Lou. I-off mo na ang AC mo ha at mag-electric fan ka na lang dyan."

"Yes, Love." I said and nodded as if she can see me.

"I love you and see you when I get home!" She excitedly said.

"I love you more. Take care, Love!" I said and she hung up.

"Love pala ha." The woman said and I jolted from the bed in surprise. Her loud voice startled me yet I found it so sexy.

I turned around and looked at her. Her black hair fell through her chest which was hidden from my eyes. Only her beautiful face and bare shoulders were seen as it bore into mine.

I was still seated here and I was tempted to touch those smooth and silky skin of hers but decided not too. I was too in love with Sarah to do such crazy things.

"What the hell happened, Nathalie!" I hollered at her which shook her up.

It was her turn to be surprised but if she was, she didn't show it. She just stared at me like I have grown a beard or something. She remained quiet while trying to examine me.

"Ano! Hindi mo ba ako sasagutin!" I exclaimed in frustration.

"What happened, happened, Walsh." She said and sat with her back turned to me.

Her bare back glistened under the rays of the sun while she picked up her clothes on the floor and put on her bra. I swallowed hard with the way she did it and how she struggled to clasp it.

I groaned inwardly and I reached out to help her lock it. My fingers touched her smooth skin and I realized how silly for me to do such a thing.

It was Nathalie's turn to freeze. I must still be in a hangover when I felt myself tracing her shoulders and back with my free hands. I suddenly found myself face to face with her.

Gone was the awkward and frustrating atmosphere a while ago that transpired between us as we stared deep into each others eyes. The Nathalie I knew was spontaneous and impulsive. What I see in her now was a matured and strong woman who is brave to face things on her own.

It was like I was under her spell and soon, I could not take it anymore and found ourselves kissing each other until we are both out of breath. It's like I have discovered another side of her today as we explored the wonders of each other in the four corners of this room.

We let ourselves enjoy each others warmth only for today. Only for today.

We both agreed to never cross paths again. If ever we coincidentally met, we will pretend not to know each other as we both are committed.

Whatever happened today is short-lived and will never ever be repeated. Today was a mistake.

That was a promise I had made to myself when I left her there and went home.

As I sat at the backseat of the taxi, I couldn't help feeling guilty of betraying the only woman I love. I felt so foolish of giving into temptation.

And of all people, it was Nathalie! Her bestfriend! Yes, maybe her ex-bestfriend, but still a bestfriend, nonetheless!

Have I known it then, I know I shouldn't have done it. Because it became the biggest regret of my life. I'm so sorry, Sarah.
