I was just feeling the soft mattress of my bed when I suddenly thought of some errand that I have to do before I get back to work the day after tomorrow.

"Aw!" I felt a searing pain in my head when I abruptly stood up. For a moment, I could feel my head spinning. All I could do was to hold it as if the dizziness would stop but to no avail.

It took me almost five minutes to gain back my composure. I blinked and thought about what just happened.

This is actually the fifth time I have this kind of headache. I never get this headache even before. Whenever my period came up, all I experience was occasional cramps not as painful as this.

Baka nabigla lang sa pagtayo sa kama?

I sighed and dismissed the thought as I headed on to my bathroom to shower. When I was done, I got out of it and found Mom sitting on my bed.

"Anong nangyare, Anak? Narinig kitang sumisigaw kanina." Mom asked in a worried tone.

"Nabigla lang po sa pagtayo, Ma. No need to get worried." I smiled as I dried my hair with my towel. "Aalis nga po pala ako ngayon. May kailangan lang gawin."

Mom nodded and smiled. "Sige, anak. Nakahanda na ang almusal sa baba, kumain ka muna ha."

"Opo, Ma." I said and she left me in my room to change.

As soon as I have changed into a pair of jeans and shirt, I grabbed my slingbag and put it on. I checked if I still have money left before I went down to have breakfast.

I know something must be wrong with me and my weight has dropped generously.

I was about 55 kilos before and it has become 52 kilos now. I barely get to exercise that's why I am quite alarmed about it.

I scheduled myself with a doctor today and was fervently praying that the result isn't alarming.

I hailed a cab and told him the name of the hospital. In a couple of minutes, I got there and directly went to the concierge to tell her about my appointment.

After five minutes, I was called to Dra. Rhealyn San Diego's clinic. I drew a deep breath before I went in.

"Hello, Miss Houston." Dra. San Diego said with a smile when she saw me came in. "Please sit down."

"Good morning, Dra. Sarah na lang po." I said with a nervous smile.

"So, what brought you here?" Dra. Rhea said prompting me to begin.

I started telling her my concerns and she told me that she would run some tests to me. I obliged and have nurses assist me with them.

I returned to her after a series of tests and she told me to return to her as soon as I get the results so that she'll read on them and have her initial diagnosis. I thanked her and have my next appointment schedule arranged with her assistant.

As I waited for a cab, I began to remember how I felt these past few weeks.

Maraming nakapansin sa pagbaba ng timbang ko at madalas na pagsakit ng ulo ko. Pilit kong dinadahilan ang kakulangan ko sa pahinga at tulog.

Pero, alam ko sa sarili ko, something is definitely wrong with me. And, I need to find out what it is before somebody finds me collapsing on the streets.

I went home bothered and pretending to be fine. I had my usual routine done and had lunch before I went to bed.

"Zup, Walsh!" I heard a familiar voice called my name so I turned to find him.

And there, with a bottle of whiskey in his hand was one of my buddies way back elementary days, Bernard Mitchels. He greeted me with his usual goofy grin.

"Ikaw na ba yan, Mitchels?" I exclaimed and gave him a brotherly hug.

"Yes, I am! In the flesh!" He answered back loud enough foe everyone to hear him despite the noise in the background. "It's so good to see you! How are you doing?"

"Busy with the clinic. And you? Ano na balita sayo?" I grinned before drinking from my bourbon.

"Just got home from a business trip in L.A." Bernard said and shook his head. "Oh, before I forget, are you free next weekend? May reunion daw ang batch naten sa Trenton Academy ah. Aattend ka?"

I shrugged and shook my head. "I am still unsure. I have plans already. Ikaw?"

"Planning to. Tara na, attend na tayo! Hindi ka ba interesadong makita ang first love mo?" Bernard teased and I chuckled.

"Loko! I'm way over her already." I answered and showed him my engagement ring. "Getting married soon."

"Wow! Changed person!" Bernard laughed and drank again before talking, "Sana all! Pero dali na! Samahan mo na ako! Ikaw lang ka-vibes ko doon! Hahayaan mo ba akong maging loner do'n? Others na ba ako sayo?" He put on his disgusting pout which irritates me everytime.

"Gago! Kadiri! Haha! Sige na! Oo na!" I nodded and he exclaimed.

"Yon naman! Sabi mo 'yan, Walsh ha! Akin na digits mo at hindi kita tatantanan hanggat hindi ko nakikita pagmumukha mo uli next week!" Bernard grinned mischievously and grabbed my phone to ring his and save my number. He returned it to me with a satisfied smile.

"Ang clingy mo pa din, trops!" I commented and he chuckled.

"We wouldn't be best buddies if I were not. " Bernard winked and we continued chatting before I bid goodbye.

Looks like I have something to look forward to next week.
