Eighteen
Present Time...
Sarah
Days have passed and here I am now with Billy at the All About Love Shop as we begin to discuss our wedding plans with our wedding coordinator, Ylona Wyatt.
"Good morning, lovely couple" Ylona exclaimed as we sat down on her love seat across hers.
Her assistant placed orange juice in front of us together with a club sandwich. I smiled our thanks and she left us with her boss.
"So, shall we start with the details?" Ylona asked, her eyes shining with excitement.
Me and Billy exchanged glances and grinned.
"Sure thing." It was Billy who answered and squeezed my hand.
"Okay, may I know how much is your budget and when are you planning to have this wedding?" Ylona asked as she shifted to her business mode. She touched the rim of her glasses and adjusted it to the bridge of her nose as she jotted down the information on her notebook.
"I was planning to spend around 300,000 for the wedding. And, we plan to have it next year, August 21." Billy filled her on the details.
Ylona nodded and she noted it.
"What type of wedding do you guys want? Church, destination, modern, casual like garden style or vintage?" She looked at Billy then at me.
Billy turned to face me and we both smiled and said, "We want it to be solemn with a few friends and our family over."
"How lovely!" Ylona commented and nodded. "Oh, how about the motiff? What colors do you prefer?"
"I like it ivory and pink." I said and my eyes began to look dreamy all of a sudden that I heard Billy chuckled beside me.
"Ang cute mo, Love!" He grinned and pinched my cheek.
"Aww!" I exclaimed and rubbed the cheek he pinched earlier.
"Sorry! Kiss ko na lang!" He said and before I knew it, his lips has indeed landed on my cheek.
I blushed and nudged him with my elbow when we saw Ylona giggling at us.
"Sana all talaga!" Ylona commented and sighed. "Alright, so before I actually leave you guys, I would need a couple of details more from you like the venue, for both Church and Reception, Photographer, Videographer, Caterers, Band & DJ, if you have any preferences and give me your mobile numbers and email address so I can easily communicate with you."
We discussed a little bit more for the initial wedding preparations and she promised to call me back to update me on the details soon. We left after an hour and now we are headed for lunch.
As he drove us to the restaurant, I saw his phone rang in front of us. I frowned when he didn't bother to pick it up.
"Love, si Noel oh, tumatawag." I said and he shook his head with his eyes still on the road.
"Yaan mo yan. Alam naman nilang naka-leave ako ngayon." Billy said in exasperation.
"Aba, Love. May sarili kang clinic and paano nila malalamang naka-leave ka eh hindi naman kayo magkasama palagi?" I pointed out and stared at him in confusion.
He kept himself busy while driving and when the phone still kept on ringing, he picked it up and brought it to his ear. I figured he must have left his airpods on.
"Look. Nagmamaneho ako. Mamaya na tayo mag-usap!" He exclaimed and hung up. He blew out some air and returned the phone to the phone holder.
"Oks ka lang, Love? Hindi mo naman siguro kailangang sigawan sya ng ganoon." I asked with concern.
"Stop being too nice, Sarah!" Billy hollered which caught me offguard.
I was startled by his yell that I clung to my seatbelt for support. It's the first time I heard him yell. In our almost four years together.
He never raises his voice at me. He never even yelled at me. Today is the first time I have seen him like this.
I felt a tear slid down my cheek. I immediately wiped it away and fixed my eyes on the road silently.
He never apologized. I was expecting him to say sorry after but he remained quiet after that phone call.
We reached El Nuevo restaurant after a couple of minutes and we were assisted inside. He ordered our food and again, we ate in silence.
No one dared to say a word. It's as if if one breaks the ice, the issue will come out and it will never be resolved.
He paid the bill once we were done and drove me home. When we reached the gate of my house, he halted the car and reached for my hand.
He met my eyes and said, "I'm so sorry, Love, with the way I acted earlier. It was stupid of me to be that way. Hindi tayo nakakain ng maayos." He sighed in disappointment.
I rubbed his hand and squeezed it before I uttered my words, "it's alright, Love. Baka pagod ka lang. Have a rest, okay? You need it."
Billy nodded and he brought his lips to mine. We began kissing and we broke apart, he rested his forehead and looked straight into my eyes, "I love you always, Sarah. Don't ever forget that."
"I love you too, Billy." I said with profound honesty and smiled at him.
I pulled away and opened the car door.
"Drive safely, Love." I said and he nodded before he took off.
I watched him until he disappeared from my sight.
Little did I know that he didn't go straight home.
