Ellesmere's POV

I walked back into the house dragging my feet lazily on the grass. The mild wind blew a handful of leaves making them rotate into a tiny whirlwind then they scattered around in different directions, the same thing repeated itself over and over again.

The sun had gone down ,I barely noticed it though. The sky turned a shade of pink, light blue and dark grey casting weird shadows underneath the large tree next to the lake. It was a very serene scene and it brought a kind of warmth to me.

I got to the pavement then halted. I tilted my head slowly to the right. I could have sworn I heard a heart beat.

It was kinda weird that I used my telepathy to listen to heart beats instead of thoughts. I figured it was the best way to catch a culprit since millions of ways had been discovered in blocking a telepath from reading minds. I mean, take a look at Magneto.

The heart beat paled when I turned my head sharply. Whoever it was, was absolutely scared of being seen.

I shifted my attention from the beating of his heart to the voice in his head. But it was blank. Odd!!

I snapped my fingers lighting my palms up with a blazing electric current that Parker called "EC Blades". They did look like large teardrops to me but like razor sharp teardrops.

I looked around cautiously but found no one. The stalker was probably good at hiding even in this vast field but I was also good at seeking.

I sniffed the air. Smoke!!  Something was burning rapidly. I turned my attention to the roof and found the blackest smoke erupting from the ceiling.

"Holy crap!! "I swore running into the house. The air was smoky and it covered every single part of the house so nothing was visible. I covered my nose with my left arm swinging the other around to dissipate the smoke.

My eyes shot towards the kitchen. I sprinted towards the cooker but it was switched off. Then what caused the fire?

A hand dropped heavily on my neck causing me to fall head first to the floor. I bruised my forehead then felt the hand whip me across room. I landed hard into a door shattering it.

A piece of wood pierced through my lower back. I yanked it out spilling blood on the floor.

"You wanna play rough? Fine! "I said angrily  then my entire body blazed with EC (that's short for Electric Current). I began to see clearly as soon as the current covered my eyes.

My attackers weren't just one but four S.H.I.E.L.D. But how did I hear only one heart beat?.

I rushed towards one of them. He gasped surprisingly as I kicked him in the chest. He flew right outside the kitchen window. I ripped the cupboard door off, using it as a weapon, I mercilessly beat up each one.

The fire was spreading fast. Soon, the sound of wood falling was incomprehensible. It was like some extra logs were falling on the roof. I punched one of the soldiers in the face breaking his nose in the process.

My lightning sword was upstairs. I headed for the stairs but it had come crumbling down like a piece of paper. I charged my legs with EC then jumped as high as I could landing on the platform at the top of the stairs.

My curtains were burnt, so were the doors, my bed, table, rug, wardrobe and everything else was on fire. I lifted the burning bed up then threw it away, my pen sword was lying untouched clipped to a notebook. I took it off then tucked it in my pocket.

Suddenly, a hand gripped me from behind. I didn't bother to turn around as I whipped out the pen clicking on it so it became a sword and cut my attacker right across his cheek.

Then, I realized who I'd cut. He touched his face as his hand was stained with a little blood.

My sword crackled fiercely as I gripped it tightly as if i would malfunction if I let go. My heart beat wildly in my chest as I stared wide eyed at Thor who stared at the weapon in my hand.

"Where did you get that? "He asked looking at me with the same wide eyes.

I clicked the sword again as it returned to its pen form. He slowly took the pen from me. I could tell he recognized it immediately.

"Where did you get this? "He asked me dragging his words.

"Thor? "Steve called from outside making Thor turn his head. I snatched the pen from him and tucked it back into my pocket.

He turned to face me then Steve and Nat walked in waving their hands and coughing slightly. I didn't even notice that smoke had filled the room.

"Elles, are you alright? "Steve asked coming to place a hand on my shoulder. I nodded not taking my eyes off Thor's. I was busted. I had to come up with something real quick.

We all made our way outside leaving Tony in as he snuffed out the fire with an extinguisher but half the house was already in ruins.

We stood next to the tree near the lake staring at the crumbling house. Tony soon joined us. I noticed Thor's eyes would momentarily meet mine and then look away. I felt so guilty.

"You said there were four of them. And there's no dead bodies. "Nat said pulling her hair back but it would just continue whipping her face because of the wind.

"I didn't kill any of them. I think they escaped."I said trying to sound as casual as I could but I was choking on my own words.

"Lucky you have fists made of Iron. "Steve said looking at my body but I didn't really care what he was staring at then Tony turned to stare at him with an "excuse-me-what-did-you-say" look on his face.

"You have to come back with us. London's not safe anymore. You stay here with Thor. We'll go dig up any of your stuff we can find. "Steve said as he lead the way. Nat followed but Tony was reluctant as he scrunched his nose.

"If charcoal and burnt woods are your thing, they're not mine! "He commented shaking his head.

"C'mon, Stark! "Steve called and after a bit, Tony followed leaving me with Thor.

He wasn't looking my way, he didn't seem angry, just puzzled I thought.

"Thor? "I said quietly hoping he wouldn't hear it but he turned.

"It's not mine. "I lied swallowing hard. His grey eyes pierced through mine. I turned away momentarily catching my breath.

"who's is it then? "He said still giving me a sharp look.

"I don't know. Jane found it and gave it to me. I've had it for a long time now. "

I knew he wasn't buying it but he nodded and just looked at Steve, Nat and Tony emerging from the house.

"Almost everything is burnt to ashes. The only thing we could fish out was your toilet handle. "Tony said raising the handle for me to see.

I suddenly heard another heart beat. It was very quick and silenced as soon as I heard it. I turned toward the barn.

"Someone's in there. "I said lurching forward then I sprinted into a run lighting up my legs with EC.

A shadow ran past the open door of the barn. Thor stretched his hand and suddenly Mjolnir flew right past my ear into his hand. No one ever knows where that hammer has been hiding.

We all filed in prepared to attack. "Over there" I alerted pointing towards the large platform above the stairs.

"There's no one there. "Tony said but still stretched his arms ready to fire.

"I can hear their heart beat. "I said then tumbled up to the platform.

"Since when did you become a vampire? "Tony asked with an amused tone.

"Not now, Tony! "Nat warned crouching slightly with her palms to the floor probably to feel for any movements.

"everyone stay put! "She said completely focused on the floor.

"Argh! "I yelled as a heavy punch landed on my face sending me falling backwards. I crashed into a set of piled up potato boxes.

The entire scene was becoming blurry to me as I tried to get up. The room began to spin, I held my head trying to regain composure when another blow knocked me backwards again.

"Is this how you plan on saving the world? "A male voice said. I didn't see who it was but it sounded like a robot's.

"How bout two outta three? "I said getting up then I kicked him hard in the stomach. He jerked backwards then charged at me. I gave him three more kicks again without wasting a second.

I punched him in the nose, then taking his hand, I spun underneath his arm making his bone creak, he yelled then I flipped him over. That knocked him out cold.

I turned to look at the others. They were all busy punching and kicking and causing injury and slamming and tackling.

Another soldier came from behind me. The idiot had to yell to alert me of his presence.

"Catch! "I said picking up a potato box then threw it at him. It hit him in the head as he crashed through a door.

"There's a lot of stuff to fix after this! " I muttered under my breath.

Then I heard a heart beat again. This time, I channelled to the person's thoughts then I heard a male speaking clearly to me.

"Do you really think you can save all of them?  You're a weakling now . You couldn't hurt a fly. We'll take what rightfully belongs to us and your world would pay the price. "

"What are you going to do? " I asked through my mind.

"You see, the Asgardian Prince defied my master once before and he'll pay for doing that. I won't just take the Orb but i'll make sure all you earthlings come under my power as well. "

"So, that's your play? Ruling earth? "

"Exactly. But I will make sure the Asgardian suffers more than anyone else. "

"Over my dead body! "I spat angrily.

"Oh, it soon will be! "

I shut off the mind thing. It was creepy talking to someone I couldn't see. I looked around cautiously to make sure no one would sprint out of a hiding place. It was then I noticed I had walked out of the barn and I was far away from the country but in a secluded area filled with trees and bushes.

I looked around puzzled at how far i'd walked away.

My legs trembled slightly. There was a certain numbness from my waist. I looked down then my eyes shone at the sight.

Blood trickled from my shirt down my pants. The injury I had obtained from the wood piercing through my back. My eyes felt heavy like lead. I felt them give away as I crumbled into a pile of leaves letting the blackness drown me totally.

             ****Oh fellow Wattpadians of Earth! I humbly advise that you so dutifully hit the vote star as you read. Okay, me trying to sound like Odin isn't working. ****

I  want to announce that I deliberately let Anne go invisible for a while but she'll be back at the end. Let's just focus on the main stuff of legends here.
