Ellesmere's POV

I walked back into the Tower but i could've sworn someone was watching me. I had goosebumps all over my arm.

"Hey!" Sticky Fingers called from up the stairs. I looked up, it was strange that we'd become, how do i put this? Friends?  Oh no, me and Parker, no way but he's cool only a little too talkative. Kinda like Stark.

"Hey! " I called back with half a smile.

"Who was that? A friend?"He asked jumping down from the staircase. Everyone knows he's really good with heights. Showoff!

"No, that was lunch i decided to let go of." I replied in a serious tone. His face went pale instantly then he laughed. I laughed too. The joke got to him.

"Look who's up and about!" Stark's voice rang through the room. I turned around. He had walked in with Nat, Clint, Steve and Thor.

"It's the Current. I hope you're not planning on frying anyone else today." He said walking up to me to place a hand around me. His perfume had a very interesting smell. Expensive!!

"No, I don't think so. But you're starting to look really good. " I said. He laughed then gave me a tap on the shoulder.

"I do look good all the time, see, that's why she's my favorite thing!" He said placing his hand leisurely on my shoulder again.

I shook my head then felt someone's heavy gaze on me. I turned, it was Steve. He didn't look his usual cheerful self. I was beginning to think it was Nat in Steve's form.

"Steve, is there something wrong?" I asked walking towards him. His blue eyes looked quite sad.

"No, everything's perfect." He said, normal enough for me to believe everything was.

But i knew it wasn't. Something must've happened, he just didn't want to say what.

"Hey, where's the booze?" Stark called turning sheepishly around to stare at everyone.

"Uh, i think you added it to the omelette yesterday. That's what made you sleep with the Iron Man suit on." Nat said making everyone laugh at the memory.

"That never happened. I never get drunk. At least, not like that." Stark protested waving his fingers.

"Don't believe us?Ask Friday!" Clint said going to sit next to Widow on the small couch.

"Friday? Please tell me these goons are ganging up against me." Stark asked looking straight at Clint who was already laughing uncontrollably.

"They took pictures, Sir!" Friday said, this time, Widow joined in the laughter and so did i.

"Can you guys tell me what you've been doing with with my AI system when i'm not here?" He asked twitching the left side of his lip.

"We play hide and seek and she wins. . . Everytime!" Parker said his voice almost a muffle.

"so, what did you guys find out?" I asked no one in particular. Clint stood up then came to stand next to me, his eyes still carrying the blaze of amusement in them.

"We did find something." He said tapping Tony on his shoulder while he received a warning glare from Tony.

"What's that? " I asked taking a few steps forward.

"You know how they say the darkest hour comes before dawn... " Parker started.

"Shut it, Parker!!" Tony spat quietly at Peter who in turn held his tongue.

"Reports came in from several civilians in Salem." Vision's voice came from behind us. Everyone turned simultaneously to look at him. He was accompanied by Sam, Bruce and Wanda.

"What's the story?" I asked. The atmosphere in the room seemed to lose its playful aura as a more tensed one creeped in with everyone becoming so serious about whatever Vision had to say.

"They all said the same thing. The attackers were aliens supposedly from where they called The Dark World and they're looking for an orb of some kind." He said as his gaze shifted from one person to another.

I shuddered, then turned to look at Thor. A sense of familiarity came over him as The Dark World was mentioned.

"I know about such a place. Asgard and Earth has faced enemies from there before. We thought they were vanquished for good. I killed their leader, Malekith with Jane's help." He said.

As soon as he said my mother's name, i felt a strong vibration ring from under my left feet. It was becoming stronger every minute. When i looked up, i noticed everyone looking down at the floor presumably for where the vibration was coming from.

"Can you feel that? " I asked thinking i was the only one who felt it.

"Friday, run a quick scan of the perimeter." Stark said as he headed outside with everyone running behind him.

"Sir, the vibration is caused by a dangerous electromagnetic current from underneath the ground. It's far away from here probably a thousand miles. It's spiking with each passing second "Friday said. I knew it was them.

"It's got some magnetic levitation. It's pulling up anything and everything around, cars, houses. The city would soon turn inside out." Nat said running to pick up Cap's shield. She threw it to him and he caught it - flawlessly.

In another second, bullets flew through the building shattering the glasses like hailstorm. Everyone took cover. Tony called for his suit, while the others tried getting their weapons within reach. I flexed my arm and it lit up with current.

"Attagirl! " I heard Tony say from behind me. He launched himself outside firing back at the flying drones and Smeagol-like creatures.

"Now would be a good time for frying, Current!" Sam said to me.

"Ah, so that's my new nickname?" I asked sending the current to both my arms and legs.

"Precisely. Let's fry up some bird!" Nat said as her face lit up with an intimidating twitch i could call a smile. We both launched outside with Nat raining bullets and kicks on the creatures while i did the frying. Well, Thor helped.

"Nat, i need a boost!" I called signaling the large alien ship that fired the most bullets at us. She nodded and interlocked her fingers then dropped one knee to the floor, using her open palm as a platform, i took a really high leap.

"Kid, swing her!" Tony said to Peter as he flew by.

I felt strong webs wrap around my waist, then i'm guessing with every web in his being, he gave me a high swoop, more like a lasso. I landed on the big ship that soared higher than the others.

Did i mention that when my powers exceed it's normal range, my eyes turn white and my hair temporarily turns black?. Well, it happened because i used all the electricity i could muster to create a very powerful force field but it was fading because of the injury i had.

I wrapped the ship in the current then gave it a very hard stomp with my foot. The ship lost power automatically and fell down really fast breaking into tiny pieces. Spiderman caught me just in time as i fell.

"Thanks Peter Rabbit! " I said then saw even through the mask that his face had contorted into that of confusion.

"Cool dude!" I said running off to battle other aliens when suddenly a blue rope wrapped around my arm.

"Not again! " I exclaimed with a grunt as the rope pulled me up into another ship. It was much larger than the one i just took down.

"Ugh, now what? If you're going to ask me to join your fan club, stand in line, Tony asked first." I said as i noticed the big guy and cowgirl.

"You were warned weren't you? " He asked. His black eyes dilated often in a very unusual manner.

"Warned about what? The apocalypse? Oh no, it's here?. Please forgive me for thinking this girl would ever qualify for the cover of Vogue magazine and this guy, well, for thinking he could take the place of Groot in the Guardians of the Galaxy but i see now, that Groot is better." I said with my eyes partially closed and my hands clasped together in a praying manner.

"You have no idea what you're up against. I'm the master of the Dark World, Tigrahn. I have come to earth to retrieve the Orb of Dakan. . ."

I faked a yawn, obviously to let him know i was bored already then i faked his voice, "You cannot defeat me, You're nothing. I am Sponge Bob Square pants , Lord of the Pineapple District in Bikini Bottom. And i will make a Krabby Patty out of you, if you do not return the Great and Almighty Spatula to me before the next full moon. If you fail, OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!."

I raised a brow "You have no idea what i'm talking about right? Exactly, because I had no idea what you were talking about, so let's keep confusing each other."

"You tell the Asgardian Prince to return the Orb or your precious Londoner pays with her life." He thundered.

My eyes shone at the mention of Anne's name. I threw a bolt at him which he dodged easily.

"You touch her and i'll make a hamburger out of your alien brains. You lying, slimy, two faced bastard son of a thousand fathers." I said the suddenly the ship tipped forward making me fall backwards but Tony caught me then placed me on the shattered balcony.

"Don't hurt yourself Current. Your abilities are still useful to me, us, i mean us." He said then left.

"You've been warned Asgardian!" Tigrahn's voice echoed in my mind. Thor flew right by me just then.

Unable to control myself, i pulled him to a corner, he looked surprised at my action, probably because i'd caught him despite the speed at which he flew.

"I have to tell you something!" I said unsure of what  was going to say.

"What is it? "He asked completely uninterested, the vibration grew stronger making the building rumble loudly.

"They're here for you. If you want to know more about this, you call Jane Foster. She'll tell you everything about it."

There was utter disbelief and a sudden interest in his eyes as he scanned me suspiciously, "How do you know Jane Foster? And what makes you think they're here for me?"

"How i know what i know doesn't matter now. But they think you stole the orb. I have to leave. If i stay here then things might get worse. Just do what i asked." I said then bolted out of the Tower leaving Thor behind.

The vibration didn't stop. I ran 40 kilometers per minute which was much less than my usual speed. My injury still hurt so i couldn't risk exposing it to such energetic distance, i had to get to Wisconsin first, for Anne.

I knew i had disobeyed Jane but it was for the best. The truth couldn't be kept a secret forever and i was tired of lying.

Okay, I know the bad guy's name was weird but I had to make it dumb enough. I really don't enjoy it when bad guys get cool names.

Who can guess what's gonna happen next?

Will Anne be abducted or would there be a Bikini Bottom festival of hamburgered brains? Okay, that was gross and silly.

But hey, can't blame a writer for her use of words, it's legal.

Anyhoo, I'd like to give a big shout-out to my girl #Toinpre# for reading my book and following up from the start. You're the real hero here. I know Peter Parker would be proud. I can tell she's smiling as she's reading this.
