A quick obvious FYI

This is it guys, my semi last chapter. Hope it's not too bad.

Also, I put up a picture of a six year old Ellesmere Adella Foster  or I think we should make that Ellesmere Thorson... Which sounds better?  Drop your comments people.

Author's POV

The trio were able to make it towards the exit but then there was another puzzle, how to open the cave door?

"I frankly can't remember coming in this way. "Bruce said as his forehead wrinkled into a frown. "I can't remember coming in at all. " Thor added.

"How do we open it? Is there some secret password or a code or do we get to do a spiritual dance? " Bruce asked chuckling at his last question.

"We don't need any of that." Thor said, the heavy water flowing fast towards them already at their feet. Elles touched her right temple, there was a cut there, it'd been itching really bad for a while and her back ached too. She just wanted to relax and enjoy her life, she'd spent all her life running and hiding and fighting for the people she cared about. For once, everything should be okay and no one would have to worry about anything but that was how life was, her life at least.

Thor stretched his hand out, the water had risen waist level already. "Thor, whatever you're doing, do it fast! " Bruce had barely finished the last word before Mjolnir broke through the door giving it a large crack, water began gushing out too.

"Brace yourselves! "Elles said. They moved backwards to give room for the penetrating water to burst the wall. It did and water covered them. They didn't know how far the swim was but they had to make it.

Elles took Thor's and Bruce's hand then using her sonic speed, she blasted them out the water crumbling on a sandy area.

"Nice swimming Current. Next time, try to leave a warning first! "Bruce said getting up and taking off his jacket. "Now how do we get back ?"

Elles gave him a look and Bruce shook his head in disapproval. "No, no. I already broke too many bones, I don't wanna break any more. "

"It'll go away, we'll get there in no time. " She cooed moving to hold his wet and cold hands. Then she turned to Thor who had already begun to swing his hammer, "Race you there!"

"Show off! "He said then went up in the air leaving a strong wind that blew back Elles' hair.
"Slow poke! " She said quietly even with him gone. "How fast do you run? "Bruce asked suddenly interested in her powers. "Uh, I've never really timed myself. Last time I checked, it was 40 to 60 kilometers per hour. But it might have increased a little bit."
"That's incredible. Truly incredible! "Bruce said looking very impressed. "Ready? " she asked raising a brow.
"When am I ever not? " he asked back giving her a look.
"Right now! "She answered and before he knew it she had one hand placed behind his head and the other securely locked around his hand and ran off with Bruce screaming like a twelve year old.

"Look out! " Cap yelled lunging for Wanda who had a gun aimed at her from behind, he pushed her down just in time for the bullet to shatter a car window.
She stood up abruptly and twisted her arms, her magic sending her opponent crashing through an apartment window. The sound of women screaming came from inside the house.

"We need to clear out those buildings. Parker, get on it! "Cap ordered taking down two more men. Spider-Man swung towards the building and crawled in through the shattered window. A mother and two of her daughters were snuggling under the dining table clutched on each other like they had glue in their middle.

"We need to get out of here quickly. Come with me! "He said calmly leading the family outside even though the building was experiencing series of bomb blasts. He was able to get six families out. At the top floor, there were three boys and their parents.

"Come on. Everybody out now! "Peter ordered before a bullet shot through the glass piercing his abdomen. He fell to the floor groaning while pressing the wound. The woman screamed as six aliens came in through the shattered window shooting at them. Peter threw a web at one gluing it to the ceiling. The others made to surround him but a voice stopped them.

"How about we move to the next round with me? "The voice asked. Everyone turned to look at the new intruder. Her blonde hair looked wet and she wore black spandex just like Widow with a cut on her head.

Peter chuckled, "well, get ready for barbecue yeah! " Her entire body lit up with blue sparks as she tackled an alien. She sent powerful currents to each one shocking them to unconsciousness.

"Come on, everybody out. There's a plane outside taking everyone somewhere safe. "She said directing the family to a carrier outside sent by SHIELD.

"When did you get here? "Peter asked. He struggled to stand up as his injury continued to bleed. His spider mask retracted allowing him suck in a sharp breath. She knelt down beside him to examine the wound. "I can help but I won't lie, this is gonna hurt. . . Really bad! "
"Well, at least you're more honest than doctors are!" he said laughing quietly.

She lit up her palm with EC then slowly pressed it against his wound. He groaned loudly as beads of sweat formed around his forehead. Then it was gone, he looked down, his skin was as good as new.

"I'm gonna ask how you did that but I don't think right now would be a good time. Good to have you back, Elles! "He said as she helped him get up.

"Good to be back, Sticky Fingers! "She said and his mask covered his face again, the eyes becoming a shade of blue. "Now, let's get to business. "

The fight went on for hours into the night. Soon, the Avengers were all gathered around their collapsed Tower battling their enemies which didn't seem like they were reducing. Tigrahn and his goons were nowhere to be found. Elles had tried looking for him through her telepathy but it was hopeless.

The fight was slowly becoming less intense so they could actually talk for a while.
"Well, this is all pointless. I mean, we've been fighting for hours and that moron is nowhere to be seen. "Nat said bitterly spitting the word 'moron' with a sour look on her face. Her red curly hair had become dusty just like everyone else's, she had a cut on her left arm, lip, cheek and jawline but she didn't seem to mind.

"We need to draw him to us! "Kalia said walking up to the others except Clint and Peter who were still at the top of several buildings doing their thing. Elles let her eyes roll all over the lady's body before landing on her eyes. Kalia smiled at her, not the 'hi nice to meet you' smile, it was the 'i'm so happy to see you again ' smile.

"Do I know you? "Elles asked as the alien lady came closer. Tony stood next to her, he smacked his mouth giving Elles a look "Mystique! came out of the blues to help."
"My name is Kalia. I believe your mother never told you about me. "

Thor raised a brow as his mind quickly flashed back to the Thurman Hospital in Austin. "You're the one that Jane was speaking of. " He said coming over to them.

"okay, I know you guys are in the middle of a family reunion but we've got a serious situation. The big gun is making an appearance."Clint's voice came through Comms.

"What do you mean? " Steve asked then the Hulk roared, as if it was planned, they all turned back. Far off, as high up in the sky as possible, a tiny ship hovered. At least, they thought it was.

"He's here! "Kalia said as she walked ahead of the group to stare at the approaching ship. Everyone prepared themselves waiting for a round of bullets or invasion of aliens or compromised men but it never came. It took five minutes for the ship to make it to where they were. It landed and Tigrahn emerged with Lasso lady, his boy band of totally eww-eth aliens and two women everyone recognized much to their displeasure. The ladies were unharmed but each one sobbed staring at one person in the team of superheroes.

Elles tightened her fists fighting back the tears that stung the corner of her eye. When would this Tigrumpus stop tormenting the people she cared about?  She gritted her teeth as her eyes clocked from Jane to Anne.

The largest amount of aliens they'd ever seen suddenly flanked Tigrahn and SHIELD soldiers too. The Avengers were sorely outnumbered and for a moment, fighting back seemed totally pointless.

"Make a move, and I won't hesitate to cut their throats. "Tigrahn said, his tongue slithering out of his mouth as usual. Elles blinked forcefully still fighting tears. If you hadn't been born, none of this would've happened . She could feel someone's hand gently settling on her shoulders, she looked sideways a bit and a dull shade of blue filled her teary eyes. It was Steve. He was probably feeling sorry for her, that was what he did but she also knew that he would do just about anything to help her but in this case, nothing could be done.

"What do you want? "She asked steadying her voice as she looked up at Tigrahn. The dude was tall as the Eiffel Tower, Just saying. His attention was on someone far behind her, she had unknowingly walked ahead of everyone when he had exited the jet. Everyone turned to look at his new interest. It was Kalia.

"I can swear i've seen your face somewhere else. Ah, now I remember!. " He said chuckling softly as if he didn't nest a plan of wiping the entire earth. "I killed your parents and raided your planet searching for my precious lost Orb. I thought everyone was dead. "

"Well, you thought wrong."Kalia replied in an unusually calm tone that surprised Elles even though she had the right to toss a balloon filled with nuclear energy right smack dab in the middle of his alien head. "I came for a simple purpose. I'm not surprised how you escaped from my prison. " He stared at Elles then Thor, "But I should've known better, you're quite the determined pair. "

"You wanna get to the point Knickerbocker?" Anne spat out, her British accent thicker than ever. Tigrahn turned his eyes to her, stared for a while then returned to his speech. "I want you all to watch me win what rightfully belongs to me. You're a team of superheroes. But there is no such thing as a superhero, each one of you has a story behind that awesomeness you so claim, you've killed tons to get the name you so parade. You're not the righteous team, you're just a bunch of hooligans wearing costumes. The world has blindly accepted you because they feel they can leave their homes unlocked or camp out in the middle of the forest with the idea that one call, and you'll come running to save the day. " he paused to watch their expressions but everyone's face was just as poker as Widow's. Without any reaction, he continued, "My original plan was to turn this Asgardian. . ." he pointed at Elles, ". . .against you. She seemed more formidable but I just realized how wrong I've been. Using her against her will wasn't the way. "

"What are you yabbering about? "Widow asked raising her chin slightly.

Tigrahn brought out the Orb. Everyone was quite interested in whatever he wanted to do, which was very odd. He climbed up the rubble of the Tower. It was really high, a collapsed building containing up to eighty floors had to be high, even when it's all blocks and bricks. He set the Orb in the middle and said something inaudible. The next minute, a whirlpool began to build.

He soared down from the rubble and stood where he had been before. "That whirlpool is a weapon of mass destruction, when I say mass destruction, I mean it's going to keep building until it fills up your planet sucking in everything living and object alike. Earth would afterwards be a wasteland. " His stare moved to Kalia, "Exactly like your world! "

The whirlpool was building fast and strong. It sucked in the rubble of the Tower crushing it to create more dust. Soon, cars began flying in, houses, stores, trees, everything in sight.

"Its more painful than it seems. I told you, there is nothing you can do to stop this. " Tigrahn said. Elles couldn't take it anymore, she yelled igniting her body with EC as she lunged forward knocking Tigrahn to the ground. Another fight began, the Avengers against a million aliens. Thor followed Elles swinging Mjolnir.

Elles stretched her arms, lightning formed big bright circles around the length of her arm and across her torso. Her legs were covered in sharp blades of current. She jumped, pinning Tigrahn to the ground and cut him deep across his face. He managed to throw her off, but just as she fell, she stood up again. Thor threw Mjolnir at him, it knocked him twice across the belly, then came back to Thor. Elles scanned the area, it seemed herself, Tigrahn and Thor had a reserved space in the middle of the fight, every other person was about thirteen feet away from them. She stomped her feet on the floor causing a cylindrical electric barrier build up as high 700 feet. It caged them in a circle. The quake her stomp had generated shook everyone earning a glimpse from one person to another.

Both father and daughter walked in circles and Tigrahn did the same, each person waiting for the other to make a move whilst exchanging glares as hot as the sun itself. "It's just you and us now! "She said quietly.

"It seems so. But even you can't save the rest of the World. No one will survive the Orb. You can't stop it, why fight it? "

"Enough talking! "She said then ran swiftly knocking him against the barrier sending a murderous shock through his body. He groaned and stood up, she threw a whip of lightning at Thor which he channelled using Mjolnir forming a long rope, they simultaneously lunged forward wrapping Tigrahn with it as it sent icy cold currents through his body.

"And someone would say, like father like daughter! "Tigrahn commented with a bloody mouth. "Guess they weren't wrong!" She exclaimed then charged her legs again kicking him so hard, he was levitated twelve feet off the ground. She jumped and roundhouse kicked him in the belly, he fell with a very loud thud cracking the ground.

He stretched his arm and his black sceptre appeared. He flipped it about mercilessly to try and threaten his opponents but they were immovable. Elles ran towards him then kicked the sceptre out of his hands, she jumped on his neck wrapping her legs around him then leaned back, Thor caught her hands and swung her, at the same time, passing a bolt of lightning, the effect threw Tigrahn hard against the barrier giving him a large cut across his back.

"Ugh, Now I recall what happened with Sam." Elles said dismissively. She punched him in the face sending him towards Thor who returned the punch sending him back to Elles. They repeated the whole process until Tigrahn was weak enough.

"Hey, let's hit him where it really hurts, hide his thingamajig! "Elles suggested and Thor nodded smiling naughtily at her. Elles created a magnetic field around the sceptre while Thor conjured lightning, one big blast and the sceptre was all dust. "No! "Tigrahn yelled holding his bleeding arm. "You can't defeat me, you'll have to give one to take down two. "

"Shut up Spongy! "Thor said in his gruff voice but with a hint of light humor. Tigrahn suddenly bolted up striking a blow at Elles making her slump against the barrier bringing it down. He kicked Mjolnir out of Thor's hand and grabbed him by the throat then swooped him on the barrier too. Ellesmere's sword pen had fallen out of her pocket, he picked it up and clicked on it, going over to Thor as the sword crackled with lightning. "You two are still no match for me! ". He raised his arm to strike but something like a lasso caught his arm jerking him backwards as he collided with a powerful kick. Elles held her hand out as her EC became blades, she sliced him thrice across his face giving him a deadly look.

"No matter how hard you try, you can never beat a team of superheroes! "She said as her electricity curled up her arms like giant anacondas squeezing the life out of its prey. He stood up and grinned from ear to ear, "They'll all feel the pain but you can end it before it begins. Kill them to spare them from it, if you do, it'll be a lot easier! "

Elles gritted her teeth harder, "Shut. Up! " The electricity blazed ten times more than it did ,Thor raised Mjolnir lighting it with fierce thunder making Tigrahn's eyes go wider than his smile, he knew he was done for. "Give one to take down two! "He said loud enough for them to hear before they buried him in the largest electromagnetic field. Ellesmere fell into Thor's arms and the barrier came down, she breathlessly stared at the monstrous whirlpool, the Orb glistening black in the middle of it then her gaze fell to her teammates.

Teammates, Pff.  Well, that sounded weird. For years she'd hated them, considered them enemies because her father had chosen to stick with them, for the right cause of course but she'd never thought of that. She'd wanted to take him away, reveal her identity and have them live a trouble free life away from the fight but everything she'd ever hoped for had happened in the opposite. Her life had been a mess, she'd been merged with a great evil since she was conceived. She'd lived the life of a criminal, doing stupid things for fun and using her powers for the wrong reasons. She wished she hadn't been born. But then, maybe she was born for this war, maybe she was the key to stopping the annihilation of the human race on Earth. Suddenly, her head cocked up staring wide eyed at Thor, "I can stop the Orb!"

The whirlpool was still sucking in anything and everything in its way, growing bigger within seconds as it caused a curtain of grey clouds to cover a part of the sky making it seem like a storm at sea. The whirlpool was almost three thousand feet high and seven hundred feet wide. It was just like the way herself and Parker had seen it with the Orb for the first time and she'd been the one to create it, when she was only six years old. Only, this time, it was a lot bigger and more powerful than before.

"How do we do it? " Thor asked. Elles let her eyes wander to each Avenger, they were certainly tired and the fight wasn't progressing either. "We must find a way to get these aliens in there first. "She suggested to which Thor nodded.  She shut her eyes and one by one, began to go into the mind of each Avenger, telling them what to do.

"At last, a good idea! Quick thinking Current!" Stark commented as he lifted his opponent aiming for the whirlpool. The man was shrouded in no time, making the whirl a tad bigger. The others did the same as well. Wanda rotated her fingers lifting half the aliens up and throwing them in the whirl too. It seemed out of all of them, she was most desperate and determined to end the fight. In no time, all their opponents were successfully shoved, pushed, knocked, smashed or thrown into the pool.

The Avengers gathered watching the whirlpool grow bigger as if it were a pregnant lady ready to throw up. "So, what now? "Clint asked coming towards Elles. Jane and Anne stood safely next to Steve. They were all a bundle of superhero mess, covered in dust and had cuts and bruises all over their bodies. 

"I'm going to stop it. The only way to stop the whirlpool is to suck it in, with someone who has relatively enough power as it does."

"And your are relatively as strong as the Orb. Equally, because you were created from it. " Kalia said.

"Wait, if you suck it in then what happens next? Will the Orb be destroyed? "Nat asked.

"Yes. And her with it! "Vision spoke for the first time since. He received several confused glances before all eyes settled on Elles. "Huh?" Parker asked his mask retracting from his head. His hair was still neat as he had been wearing a mask ever since. Same with Tony.

"I told you that the reflection would be able to wield the Orb but I failed to mention that if it gets destroyed, she goes with it! "Kalia said to Jane who closed her mouth in shock suppressing a gasp but Anne did it out loud anyway. Elles looked at Thor "That's what he meant by 'using one to take down two'!" Jane rushed to Elles pulling her in for a hug as she cried silently on her daughter's shoulder.

"You mean, we'll never see her again?" Steve asked, his gaze locking with Ellesmere's. Kalia nodded even though no one saw it. Everyone went quiet for a while until Tony spoke up, "It's been an honor working with you, kid! "He said, his mask had also retracted, his suit deeply damaged in many places. Steve glared at him for a minute and for once, Tony flinched slightly.

"I'm really sorry! "Jane whispered as she took Ellesmere's face in her palm, her cheeks and nose tinted a bright pink from crying. "It's okay, Mum! "Elles said. She seemed to have already accepted her fate. She pulled off from Jane and moved to Anne. Both friends stared at each other for a while before burying themselves in a tight hug. "You promise you won't take down my painting in the house in Spokane! "Elles whispered causing Anne to giggle through her tears. They pulled apart, "You're so silly, i'm never gonna see you again and this is what you have to say to me? "Anne said in between tears and a little laughter. "I love you Annabelle! Thank you for putting up with me, with my complicated life and most dangerous moments, you were still there. You're my family. " Elles said hugging her friend one more time. She gave Anne a nod before moving towards Hulk, she stared up at him and smiled, "Gonna miss you, Green Loaf!" He growled slightly, "Tell Banner, i'll miss him too! "

She moved to Peter, "In this case, you're gonna miss me not the other way round !" Peter smiled but sourly, she was trying to lighten the sad atmosphere even though it was hard and she was going to die. "So long, Spider-Man! "

Then she came to Nat, "We never really finished our training, so you'll just have to accept that I won. "Nat said even before Elles could speak. She pulled Nat into a hug too. "nicht zu feucht hinter den Ohren gerade, hä?" (Not so wet behind the ears now, huh?).  "Not anymore " Nat replied and Elles released her. Next was Clint, his brown hair was dishevelled and he had an injury on his left shoulder and a look that she couldn't quite translate but there was certain sadness in his eyes. "You keep Excalibur for a couple more years. It might come in handy someday! " Clint nodded then she gave him a fist bump winking at the same time causing a small smile to play at his lips. "Told you it'd never work with me and Jacob! "

Vision and Wanda stood next to each other so it didn't have to take separate goodbyes "You two are gonna make alien Maximoff babies, trust me. Pity I won't be there to see that! " Wanda glared at her then smiled at the last minute nodding her head briefly. "You're okay!" Wanda said lifting her head gently. She moved over to Steve and Tony , "You two have to promise to keep the gang together, no matter what. Do me a favour Steve? " Steve raised an eyebrow urging her to proceed with her request, "Don't let Tony try giving the Hulk any booze, I don't think that'll turn out fine at all!" "Yes ma'am!" Steve replied closing his eyes for a short moment. Elles hugged him and Tony patting Tony in the back, "Guess i'll never get to meet Pepper anyway! "She said ,Tony nodded then tilted his head sideways "No worries, she's already heard so much about you already! "

Lastly, she strolled over to Thor, he had Mjolnir set on the ground with Jane at his side. His eyes gleamed a dull shade of blue and grey and looked watery. "This is it, right? Everything I've been fighting for. I'm pretty sure you'll be safe after today. "

"Thank you Ellesmere! "He said pulling her into his grip. They held each other longer than everyone else did before finally breaking apart. "I think it'll be best if Grandpa and Loki never knew about me. It'll be a waste not meeting them anyway! "

Thor nodded then released Elles from his arms. "I love you Daddy! " She said, her voice more of a squeak, his hand ran through her hair, "I love you too! ". She turned to everyone then gave a reassuring nod which they all returned. She then turned to face the whirlpool which was now gi-monstrally huge. Using her sonic speed, she blasted into it, grabbing the Orb. The whirlpool became electric blue as thunder blasted in all directions from Elles' body and the Orb. The heavy wind mixed with the electricity began flowing heavily into her body, she gazed at Jane for the last time, Jane could see the face of her six year old, with big blue eyes and the most beautiful blonde hair and lips as red as cherry smiling at her in the water park, pleading to go on the slides, that girl was no longer going to be with her anymore, she shut her eyes which were stung with hot tears as Elles groaned then screamed as the last of the Orb melted into her and then a huge blast of wind whipped everyone backwards as they shielded their faces.

When every head popped up, it was just an empty space. Where the Tower had once been, where their friendship had grown to that of a family, where they'd faced adversaries together, where they've had misunderstandings, where they'd laughed away their pain, where the Orb had been set, where Elles had stood to save them all.

It was just an empty space.

**teary eyed**  hands everyone a tissue ** I'm so sorry but this had to happen. No one saw this coming but we have to say goodbye someday. I'm thinking like a true Marvel fan, eh? Ending my story like that. I must say, I was a little emotional when I wrote this chapter, had no idea it'd have such an effect on me. I just love Elles too much to cut her character off. But that's how it is right now. Let's all gather and say the Valhalla prayer for her. She was an Odinson yeah!

But don't worry guys, everything's gonna be okay now.

I just have one chapter to go before I wrap it up. Grateful to those who'd been with me from the start @Toinpre..
