Chapter 140: SCP-4812 ''Wrath''
Here we see you laying on the ground and you look up to the stars and you see something invisible fly by over you.
(Y/N): "SCP-4812-K, good to see you again."
You then get up and head to work and you grab your stuff as well. Later at the Foundation, we see you with Cory and you are meeting the new researcher Summer Rose.
(Y/N): "Nice to meet you Dr. Summer Rose."
Summer R: "Good to meet you too as well (Y/N)."
(Y/N): "So are you here to work on the SCP-4812 case?"
Summer R: "Of course, I went through orientation and now I am assigned to work with you (Y/N)."
(Y/N): "Great to hear it, let's get to work."
You and Summer R go through the files on SCP-4812 and you bring out the SCPs.
(Y/N): "Each anomaly under the SCP-4812 designation is in a separate object class which is why they have -S, -E, and -K. Starting with -S it's a large entity without any consistent form, it lives on in a cave in Alès, France. It has a lot of long appendages and is covered in a sticking adhesive and all over the body is fine hair that is hydrophobic, it is also a Class-XIII visual hazard."
Summer R: "Meaning?"
(Y/N): "One peak at it and your eyes, brain, and nervous system will melt down like pouring acid on them, it causes bleeding from the skin, paralysis, asphyxiation, and then you die in that order. That's gonna hurt like hell if you look at it, but luckily for me it doesn't work for me. This power can extend from pictures and video recordings. And you might see a common thing these anomalies have in common."
Summer R: "Okay what's -E?"
(Y/N): "-E is a 15 meter tall metallic humanoid made out of platinum, it has a skeletal form and it has other metals in it's composition like tungsten. This entity maintains a body temp of 0.0000000031K, it can also absorb the heat around itself and make the surrounding area absolute zero in 16 seconds. Close interactions with this entity can be deadly since you will be frozen like a human popsicle and you will die. The only thing that can contain this thing is exposing it to high heat. And we have to keep its containment area extremely hot at all times."
Summer R: "Interesting."
(Y/N): "Now we have -K, actually I've seen -K in person when I was watching the sky. It's a giant insect that is 180 meters in length and it looks like a hybrid between a Stag Beetle and a Scorpion. But unlike other bugs or arachnids, it has a human face instead of the usual bug face everyone gets to see and it's a human male. Like -S and E, it doesn't really do much on its own. It can be found in the upper stratosphere and usually moves by flapping its wings. It has reflective chitin and we tried shooting it down but any projectile attack we use just get reflected back to sender, hell the GOC tried to shoot the thing down with a laser and that blew themselves up. They maybe on the opposite side of the same coin we live on but they can be stupid at times."
Summer R: *giggles*"I guess you're right."
(Y/N): "All we can do is keep a close eye on the thing and make sure no one spots it, but I spot it everyday when it ever comes my way. And there is one rule that has to be unbreakable, make sure that none of these things ever interact with each other. You may ask yourself, what put them under the same designation and what's the fourth entity that is under the same designation?"
Summer R: "Yeah, you think you can answer that?"
(Y/N): "Well luckily we found something that might tell their story, we got it from a dutch collector of anomalous artifacts from Markus De Wees called The Cunnington Set. Named after an English archaeologist and cultist which helped the Foundation a lot about finding different SCPs. This also includes a journal that describes the anomalies as well as their history that they share. The set also includes Sixteen coins of various shapes and sizes, none of which account for any known denomination of currency, Five papyrus scrolls, Egyptian in origin, that appear to be ancient star maps. Analysis of these maps indicate that there were once notes written in the margins - however, these notes have been bleached out and are no longer decipherable. Three large tomes bound in leather-wrapped hardwood, penned in German, full of what appear to be archaic coordinates. One of the books also marks changes in temperature. These books were seemingly written over the course of many years. A brass spyglass with a cracked crystal lens. A piece of the cracked lens is missing. Looking through the spyglass, several small, ornate mechanisms are visible within. However, they appear to have been damaged in the past and are no longer functional. A thick burlap sack that apparently contains at least three more consecutive burlap sacks with a thick, gelatinous mass at its center. Looking at this sack tends to make subjects feel ill and suffer from a slight burning sensation behind the eyes. A pair of glasses with iron frames and solid iron lenses. One of the lenses is damaged. When worn by human subjects, a slight glow is visible through the iron lenses when looking at the burlap sack. A thin circlet made of gold and platinum. Has three prongs situated around the entire ring, two of which appear to have been broken off near the base. The third contains a small glass sphere that is warm to the touch. A journal written by Winston J. Connington. Contains depictions of all three SCP-4812 entities and the personal research of Dr. Connington himself."
Summer R: "I see."
(Y/N): "Well according to the translations we made, it tells a story about an ancient kingdom that is respected by all others which is either the house of Apollyon or the Sky Kings of Old Europe. The ruler of the kingdom was allegedly a descendant of the King of Crimson Skies or Asem the First Man aka Adam the First Man. These Sky Kings ruled over what is now modern day Europe for a hundred generations, conquering all who oppose them. Among their adversaries were "Those faithful to the Iron God" which is their way of saying the Church of the Broken God. Eventually, complacency was bad news and Sky King Sarrus VIII von Apollyon looked beyond the realms of men, hoping to find new land to conquer. Sarrus assembled his forces which is the largest army and set his sights on the lands of the Fair Folk which is the Fae. They were already in conflict with their neighbors the Children of the Moon which is the Bigfoot species and they were not prepared to face off against Sarrus' forces. In 2 weeks the Fae was scattered and driven from their lands. The sole survivor was a Fae princess who was captured and was taken in as a trophy which really sucks for her."
Summer R: "Oh no..."
(Y/N): "But luckily she had other plans, while being taken back to the Sky King's place, she cast a curse upon the House of Apollyon and Sarrus the 8th as well. There was a crazy storm that blew away returning ships and the Fae Princess prayed to an ancient, nameless god for vengeance against guys who conquered her people. According to legend, the chains that had her shackled to Sarrus' ship caught fire and the fire burned the Sky King's ship to ash. And those same chains pulled him down into the depths of the ocean."
Summer R: "Oh wow...."
(Y/N): "To prevent the same mistake of being hit with dark magic from the Fae, Sarrus the 9th appointed four knights to defend his kingdom. And you may be wondering, what does this have to do with SCP-4812? Well as the story continues the Fae Princess was brought to Sarrus the 9th and he imprisoned her for what she had done. She was sent to a sealed dungeon deep beneath the oceans. Thats where -S is right now, the first one was easy but the other two is not so easy. Her voice of the princess was able to communicate with the souls of the 4 knights protecting Sarrus the 9th's kingdom. The Sky King was forced to banish them and brought forth to that he called the Great Profanities. Without the defense from the knights, Vinuvinex, who is the first profanity to cast its cold hand over Sarrus' only daughter which killed her. Which sounds like -E right. For payback for killing his kid, he drew up an ancient spear called the Godless lance and struck the being down, casting it into Earth's molten core and subduing it with the intense heat of the core. Another section describes the King of many faces, Lamenellant, the creature we know as 4812-K. Connington's findings describe this entity's slaughter of the Daeva, a neighboring kingdom. The enormous insect appeared from the The space beyon spaces and would deflect perfectly any attack made against it, before taking the faces of the Daeva and returning to the skies."
Summer R: "Woah..."
(Y/N): "There is one final profanity, known only as the Profane Dark. The legend concludes with this profanity, a dark, black smear rising form the graves of the Fae. It soaked through the Earth and burst from below claiming the sky king and dragging him into an endless voice. As it pulled him away, Sarrus cursed the Profane Dark calling it Yash, the last great foe of man. Watching his kingdom fall without the protection of his 4 knights, all the Sky King could utter was one repeated word: Wrath."
Summer R: "That's horrible."
(Y/N): "Welp anyways.'*to Cory*"You've been quiet."
Cory: "Oh I was just paying attention to the story."
(Y/N): "Well anyways, if you need anything just ask the guys from Project Paragon."
Summer R: "Great, I'll get to work on it, thanks for the run down sir."
(Y/N): "No problem and remember none of the 4812 specimens are not to interact with each other."
Summer R: "Wait if each of the specimens are sub designations based on object classes, then that would mean the Profane Dark would -A for.....Appolyon."
Cory: "Appolyon?! That is for anomalies that are impossible to contain and cause apocalyptic disasters."
(Y/N): "If there was such an anomaly, then we would have it on record, but we don't. So for now we wouldn't need to worry."
Later on, we see you at a containment area and we see you playing cards with Mr. Fish and Dr. Bright.
(Y/N): "Got any 10 hearts?"
Dr. Bright: "Go fish."
Mr. Fish: *finishes the final match*"Read em and weep everyone."
(Y/N): "Oh come on again!"
Dr. Bright: "Seriously how are you doing this?"
Mr. Fish: "I guess Go fish is a fish's game."
(Y/N): "Welp I better get back to work, I'll see you guys later."
Later on, we see you at Site-80 where they are holding SCP-4812-E and you are watching SCP-4812-E through the cameras.
(Y/N): "I guess this guy is just standing there doing nothing."
You then see that your shift is up and you head out of the facility. By the time you got home, you sat on the couch reading about the solar system.
(Y/N): "Hmm, I wonder what Sauelsuesor is up to this time of day."
