A/N:

I was in a rage because I didn't get any adequate responses after the last update and that's why I didn't intentionally write and update(it's very childish and petty and I'm unreasonable and delusional, so I'm ashamed). But now I gotta update cos,

1. My exams are starting next week so I obviously would have to post at least 1 chap before I start studying.

2. The reason for the lack of response, as I recently found out through the stats on this book, is that I only have 4 readers on this book(2 of them I already know who they are, and 2 random silent readers). So I can understand there's not much ppl reading this, but ngl it's very sad that only 4 out of the many readers who read 'Annyeong, Daisy!' stayed. It doesn't make sense, if those ppl didn't like AD why would they read till the last, so not liking the story isn't a reason. This is not even a prequel or sequel, this is a whole-ass direct continuation, I mean I wasn't even planning to split it into series when I was writing AD.

3. If the previous point seems like bullshit to you, then congrats, you are right. For some reason, my stupid brain thought I only had 4 readers until now(dated 1 June).

The Wise Monkey's POV:

Buckle up, I promised you I'll let you know about Soojin's past and it's time for that. It just makes sense to do so, you'll relate to me more when you'll enlighten yourselves about everything about Soojin's special soul.

I don't have time to explain it all in one go, I mean I do can pull it off right now because Soojin's taking classes and the boys are busy but doing nothing unusual, but clearly, their busyness won't last the whole day. And honestly, I can't be bothered to use my energy on spilling everything in one go and in the right chronological order.

So instead, I'll give you sneak-peak-kinda random occurrences from only the highlight year of her past life( that's the year she died and the only year I bothered to study). And I'll do these whenever I'm free or I'm feeling like it. And now's the time for the first sneak-peak.

Since I can't give you enough details from just my memory, I'm going to have the past me(from the time I was watching Soojin's past life's film live back in /sɛrkʌ/) take over for the while and narrate to you.

Yeah, it takes a lot of power and energy, that's why I said I can't do it all at once.

I'm already feeling the 2-year-ago(in terms of earth years only) me taking over. I'm already communicating with him to straightaway get to the work instead of loose talk(y'all know I'm prone to that) and to be highly professional with the narration. He'll be fully taking charge in...

The heavy sounds of bells were ringing somewhere. Somewhere, it was there somewhere; Even though the raging and blaring crowd couldn't hear it. It was heavy on her ears despite the noises from the mass and it was heavy for a reason. For one, the sound could be a chime, oh so sweet and harmonious, the personification of peace and attentiveness as it would chime from a nearby monastery. Oh but for her how different it was! For her, it was her death bell.

Death. Death. Death. It was all she could think of it. Her death. Her death that the crowd was eager to witness, her death that the province was happy to present her with, her death that the royals were greedy to undertake.

Oh, she could already hear the people badmouthing and spitting at her. But she couldn't see them, for she was in a daze. Her death was on her mind. Yet she could hear their cruel words. She did not know what they told these citizens to be that aggravated at her, she did not know. The crowd, they were cruel with the words. And to think once they'd only had praises for her!

She, the brave maiden, Soojin, the heroine of the town known all through the province for her bravado and her bewitching beauty, the maiden who once saved the entire town from a forest fire thanks to her quick-wittedness and bravado, was now the most hated one in the province. And even though she did not know what false accusations they added to her name, she knew that it could not have had been anywhere as bad a crime as a mass-murdered or a terrorist or a rapist. Yet the crowd was the most aggravated one ever saw in the town. And why was it? Why was it? Because it was now the renowned brave beauty who did the supposed crimes?

The crowd watched her. Unlike many other prisoners that they had seen being dragged to this public execution grounds, all unwilling and writhing in the hands of their officers, this one wasn't quite like it. There were tears, but no writhing and wailing to beg for a final plea of mercy. But what they couldn't see was her reluctance to proceed like any of the men and women in her position would do. The steps were unusually slow and heavy and the officers clasping each of her arms could feel it too, but they knew she was better than the ones who'd try to run away.

The officers looked antipathic and bored, something they mastered in their years of service. But that one man who walked right to them seemed stoic, his brows knitted and on the verge of an internal conflict. He was a brand new addition, the first morning of his service as an executioner, Soojin's executioner.

When she reached the centre of the crowd who were formed in a semi-circle, the shouts of the people and the rings of the bells all stopped for her selective ears. All she could hear was the loud and painful wailings and the protesting yellings of rage. And that made her tears roll down faster, discomfort on her lungs to breathe heavier and her broken hope of sustaining on this earth do just a little battle and revive. All she could hear was her brother's yowls as he sat on the mud begging for mercy with all the sounds of cry he could make. Her cousin who held her brother even though he was wailing and unsteady himself, tried to be brave enough to speak actual words to beg for her mercy. And then there was the man in rage who looked ready to fight all the royals and officials, getting uncontrollable in the confines of multiple guards trying to hold him back as he spat words of rage. Mingi.

These three were the only people who shed tears for her, two of whom she expected and Mingi. Even Mingi was here, and he was mad, even though that word would be an understatement. Even Mingi felt for her. And Mingi still wanted her, even after these all. He was genuine all along, he felt for her genuinely. But most importantly he was here, he was here when the man she loved wasn't. The man she loved, the cause of all the problems, even if he had led her to her death, she had expected him to come to watch her die as some sadistic wish of his, perhaps. Or maybe, deep inside she wished for him to run last minute to her, to protect and keep her alive, at least for the sake of what they once had. Maybe, to even welcome her back to his life. But he was not here. Her prince was not here.

The prince was not here!

She cried out, cupping her face, she let out all the final sobs she could. An officer forced her hands out of her face and tied them together in the back. The words of rage and those of mercy were rampant and louder than ever, but Soojin was numb to it all.

No one noticed the deterrence in the eyes of the executioner as he took his blade.

"It's time, boy," one of the officers told the executioner and he gave a nervous, hesitant nod, eyes about to moisten as he looked at the offender's crying brother. Oh, how even the executioner felt for the girl's misery but the prince...

Soojin looked at her stomach with teary eyes for one last glance of longing and said her last word, then locking her eyes with her brother who cried harder as he heard her final word.

"Now!" the officer commanded the executioner and the blade glided through the front of her neck and throat left to right.

Soojin dropped down to the ground with a heavy thud, the vile sight of her hot blood staining the land where her neck hit. Mere seconds was what she lasted until she closed her eyes from the face of the earth.

Screamings and wailings of the three men were all that could be heard as the crowd finally dispersed.

Soojin knocks off the stationary holder on the table with her butt as she squats down to collect her notebook she just clumsily dropped, creating for herself a double embarrassing situation; Her Product Development professor sighing and the fellow students glaring at her fearing the professor might get angrier than she already was.

Yes, it's back to me in the present. And what I'm trying to show you here is that Soojin's right here, she's embarrassing herself in her class and she's living. So don't be too sad. Soojin's more than alright right now, she's in her normal zone. It's true that what the past me just narrated to you was all that actually happened. But it's the past, however tragic it may be. She did get another chance to have a peaceful life, and now I'm personally involving myself to give her more than just a peaceful life.

I just thought it would make sense to tell you first how her last life ended. And maybe I wanted you to get used to the high negativity of her past life because it's not gonna be all that nice. It was what I'd call a tragic human life.

Anyway, I used a lot of energy today. Don't think I can continue. Wait for the next time I'll tell you more about that life, won't you?

Ahh, all I need is to finish this all off soon and go back up and rest.

You hearing me, lads?

A/N:

Curious about her past life yet? I love writing about past life scenes cos the old wise monkey narrates it such that it seems like a normal 3rd person pov which is always easier to write(at least for me).

Also, now I gotta change this book to mature rating.

I hope Sannie is doing alright:( He's a particularly soft boy and I'm not sure how he'd be handling his emotions rn, but I think he's strong and mature and he got his noona and parents. I hope the Choi family is doing alright or gets alright soon. Rest in peace grandpa Choi.
