Chapter One: The Move

Chapter 1: The Move

Hey guys, my name is Savannah Moon and this is the story how I found my Annoying Love. Now, before we begin, I will warn you, this is not a cliché love story where boy meets girl and they fall in love, or where they were best friends who fell in love, so if that's what you're hoping for then you may want to find another book to read. Now, let's get to the Story.

It all started in sophomore year. We had just moved a year before, so I didn't have any friends. The street we moved to had a lot of teenagers on it and it seemed like a friendly neighborhood. That was until I met Him. He was my neighbor. My parents, once we finished unpacking, sent me and my little brother, steven over to greet the new. Now, a reminder, I'm only fifteen at the time, while my brother is seven. My neighbors seemed quite nice, asking me how old I am and what grade I'm in, along with other questions. Once they found out I was fifteen, the same age as Him, they called their son down.

At first, I thought he was pretty good looking, but his personality made me forget all of that right there on the spot. He was cocky, full of himself, and had an ego bigger than the world itself, thinking everyone was there to serve his needs. New flash, we're not! His ego seemed to be getting bigger anytime someone compliments him. Argh! I wish he could disappear. But he can't. And he's my neighbor. So, I need to deal with him, at least until college.

On the plus side, he was very kind to Steven, even play video games with him. Anyway, I'm losing my train of thought. This is how the conversation went.

"Hi, my name is Savannah Moon, and you are?" That was the first line uttered from me to him. Needless to say, he had to make himself better.

"Well, hello, lovely, the name's Knight, James Knight. Nice to meet you. I must say, your British accent is beautiful." See look he was so full of himself!

"Well, thank you but we must be getting home now. Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Knight, for your kind hospitality. Come on Steven, we must unpack." I said, very politely.

"Well, Steven is very welcome to stay and hang out with James if he would like." Mr. Knight commented.

"That would be very nice, sees as Steven is only seven, he really can't help unpack." I then walk over to Steven. " would you like to stay here, Steven, or come back over with me."

"I would like to stay here for a bit, thank you," Steven answered in a polite voice.

"Okay, I will be back in an hour to pick you up. Be safe and listen." I walked to the front door. I go to walk out but He is holding my wrist. " Can I help you?"

"When are you starting at the high school?" He asked me in an odd voice, almost too deep to even understand.

"Um, I believe I am starting next Monday, seeing as today is Friday," I answer in a sarcastic voice, already getting annoyed with him.

"No need to be rude, ya know. Just wondering. Well, I'll show you around the campus, and introduce you to some of my friends. Ya know if you want." He said in the same voice as before.

"Sure, why not. It's not like I know anyone else." That was my first mistake. Little did I know that now.

"Great. Well, see you later." He let me go, turned around, and left, leaving me completely stunned.

Once We had finished the unpacking, I went back over to the Knights' house. While I waited for someone to answer the door, I noticed another vehicle in the driveway. The door finally opened, but the person standing behind it I didn't know. "And who might you be, pretty lady?" the guy behind the door asked me in, what I suppose was supposed to be, a seductive voice.

My senses kicked in, as I looked around, just o make sure I'm at the correct house. I was, so I looked back. The guy behind the door was giving me a crooked smile, looking me up and down. "Sorry, my name is Savannah Moon. What are you doing here? This is the Knights' house, isn't it?"

"Yeah, you're in the right place. Now, what are you doin' here, baby?" The boy asked me. I looked at him, in what I am is an incredulous look.

"I'm here to pick up my little brother, Steven. He is here, right? With James?" I questioned the guy standing behind the door. "Now, who are you?" I was through with beating around the bush.

" Well, now, no need to be crass. Yeah, the little dude is here with James. My name is Ryan, doll. Come on in." I follow Ryan, I suppose his name is, into the house to pick up Steven.

I walk into the sitting room when I see Steven and James sitting on the couch, playing a video game on the telly. I clear my throat, but neither boys looked up. I suddenly felt a hand go around my waist. "It's no use, doll. They aren't gonna answer. They're in the game now. All you can do is wait," Ryan said in my ear, from behind me.

I shrieked. After pulling Ryan away from me, I turn and walk into the sitting room. I sit on the arm of the chair that Steven is sitting in and watch the game they are playing. It appears to be a racing game, which I believe it's called Mario Cart. Steven ends up winning the race with Jacob and turns to look at me.

"Savannah! I beat James! Did you see that?" Steven says to me, so excited, I can't help but crack a smile.

"Oh, of course, I did. You are the best at these games, aren't you?" I said all of this, still with a smile on my face. "Well, bud we need to go back to the house, so say goodbye to James so we can get going."

He runs over to James giving him a hug and saying a friendly goodbye. James lent down and whispered something into his ear, causing Steven to nod vigorously.

Now, before we move on, does anyone notice that Ryan has not made himself known to James and Steven, yet. Just wait for it. Back to the story.

Ryan walks into the sitting room, hands full of food. "Hey, doll. Leavin' so soon," he says through a mouth> I just look at him disgusted, walking over to Steven and James.

"Come on, Steven. We have things to do at the house, and it is almost time for dinner." I say, trying to leave.

Steven walks to the door. I go to follow him but am stopped by someone grabbing my wrist. I turn to see who it is and notice it is Ryan. I go to pull my hand back but he pulls me closer.

"Leaving so soon, doll?" I could smell his breath, we were so close. I tried to put out of his grip.

"Let go of my hand, please. I am needed at my house. Now." I say, in a desperate attempt to leave. Still, he did not let go of me

"I believe she asked you to let her go, Ryan." I see James standing behind Ryan, hands in his pocket, looking quite intimidating. Ryan, finally, lets go of my wrist, making me rub it from how hard he was holding. That is going to be bruised in the morning, great I can see that conversation going swimmingly with Mum and Dad. 'Oh hey Mum, Dad. Oh, the handprint on my wrist? Well, I went over to the Knights' to pick up Steven and they had a guest who didn't want me to leave, so he grabbed my wrist and kept calling me "doll"' Yeah, not happening, nope, never.

I just realized that I am being helped to the front door by James. But before we can get there he stops us. "I'm sorry for what happened back there. That's just Ryan. He isn't used to girls saying no to him, actually, he sometimes has to say no to them, but that doesn't matter. What does matter is that I am sorry for the way he was acting." He seems so genuine saying this, I actually believe him

"It's fine. But that is definitely going to bruise. I'll have to cover it up. Mum would flip if she saw it and Dad would make her look like a new-born puppy if he found out about it." I realize I'm rambling so I look up at him. He is looking at me with a mix of sorrow and amusement.

"If you want you can tell your parents I did, by mistake to get them off your back," he offers me.

"Oh no that's fine, but thanks. I gotta go I'll see you later? Yeah?" I say, walking out the door. On the way to the house, I begin to think; maybe He isn't as bad as He seems.
